504 wool USA. Comfy and stylish
Ordered the xxl Loden colour. Personally, I probably should have ordered a size smaller and disregarded the site's suggestion, but a Blue Jays fitted cap I have that's 7-5/8 is definitely tighter. I'll just have to watch on windy days - but DANG is it ever comfortable!... Show more

I Like It! Goes Well With Almost Anything and in Most All Situations
I've been looking for over 3 weeks for a spiffy flat cap. I had some troubles in my initial searches for flat caps that were more or less made of wool. Some were hybrid and others didn't even seem to understand that a flat cap is traditionally made with wool. I desired a classy (read: timeless) look, and wool is the way to go. I buy something and wear it for 5 or 10 years before I have to replace it because it either wears out or I get tired of looking at it. The same goes for a flat cap.My search ultimately lead me to Kangol. After weeks of searching, I knew I had found the right place within minutes of visiting Kangol's site. I ordered the ever-popular 504, and it's been a good flat cap. I wear it all the time, like I used to wear baseball caps. These days, I'm ... I ordered the ever-popular 504, and it's been a good flat cap. I wear it all the time, like I used to wear baseball caps. These days, I'm working to dress more classy, so baseball caps are out. I don a wool peacoat during the winter time, and this Kangol tops off the look quite well. I have a sports coat and this cap compliments that jacket well, too. Eventually, I plan to get an overcoat. Hello flat cap!Even if I just wear a North Face regular street jacket that you might wear to go hiking, this flat cap still goes well with the jacket. Heck, I even wear this cap in the office or on the days I'm working from home. This winter, heating costs have been more expensive than usual. So, I'm doing what I can to cut heating costs. That includes keeping my noggin warm. I wear it in leisure, too, like while I'm writing this review. In other words, I bought the cap because it goes well with a variety of looks, whether formal or informal.... Show more

I've been wearing a blue
I've been wearing a blue 504 bought regularly during fall and winter months for going on 20 years and decided it was time to get a new one. I knew I wanted black, but when I saw the loden green and the wine-colored hats a one-off purchase became a four hat order! Although I was a bit worried about quality now that the hats are being made here in the U.S., I am totally satisfied with every one of them. After so many years the size tab on my existing hat had worn bare. I ordered four large because most of my other hats are large. The first shipment of large size hats were too big. I returned them for medium and they fit perfectly.... Show more

Kangol every day!
Style, quality, comfort, looks, and compliments, all key traits of an original Kangol cap. I have several colors to rock every day of the week. The wool is definitely my choice for the winter; keeps my head warm and cozy, outside and in the office. Speaking of the office, I have co-workers who have asked me about them and are now rockin' Kangols too. Perfect timing for the winter!... Show more

Know your size!
This is my second Kangol purchase. In the past I opted for the 507 design. This time I decided to go with the classic 504. I measured my head according to Kangol’s specs and picked out an extra large. I checked to see what size my 507 was, but the tags had long been removed. I didn’t check my past order history either nor did I read any reviews on the 504 fit. This cap is very big. So big that it doesn’t look good on and the fit is terrible. There is at least a 3/4” gap at the back of the cap and my head. Shame on me for not doing more research on the fitment. Of course I removed all the tags and got rid of the box it came in. I had no intention of sending it back. So I’m stuck with a cap I’m not happy with. I will add that the quality of the cap is superb. The wool ... MoreThis is my second Kangol purchase. I would purchase this cap again, but next time I would go with a smaller size for a better fit.... Show more

NOT true to size. Frustrated.
My previous hat was a 504 size large. It got destroyed so I wanted to replace it. Happy to know it’s still available. I ordered according to the sizing guide 23” (L). Got it today and it was too big. It’s almost like an XL.Not sure if a medium would work. Went to online chat, the only response was ‘Sorry for the inconvenience. We offer free exchanges”. No suggestions, no help, nothing. The site doesn’t even offer sizing bands. I don’t want to pay for return shipping, so I’m stuck with a hat that doesn’t fit.... Show more

Replacement for an old friend.
I bought this as a replacement for the Kangol 504 i bought in Edinburgh in 1994 which I love but is definitely showing its age. The new 504 is different in several respects from my old friend. The design is different and less defined. The old 504 has the brim and the back edging on the same level in flat cap style, while the new cap is much longer in the back. And the new cap is much larger for the same size, and is looser on my head. The color is not the same as the old cap, which is disappointing. It looks more like Loden than the Green i ordered. I also bought another new 504 in red, which fits much better than the new green cap. Thank you.... Show more

Wildly inconsistent sizing among colors.
According to the charts, my 23” head is a size 7 3/8 which should be a large in a 504. Right? So, I got a black large (with the gold logo) that was huge on me. I also bought a camel in large that fits tight, but I'll take it. I recently received a dark blue in large and it fits a little loosely, but it fits. So, the sizing on these seem to be wildly inconsistent. I had to return the black 504 because it was almost cartoonishly large on me. I have not seen a credit on my account or indication my return was received and I don’t have a tracking number. But, I love these hats and when they fit, they’re great. With shipping times approaching 2 weeks, an exchange is a month-long process, apparently. Like delivery by a literal pony-express.So, to be clear, these are great ... I love the hats when they fit, Finding a good fit is apparently random, unfortunately. Having bought three in three different colors is a small sample but it seems noteworthy how varied the fit was. Other than that, the dark blue is great and I haven’t worn the camel much because it hasn’t been called-for, yet. I just think maybe I should order from a local hat shop so I can expect an exchange, on a product that seems likely to need one, to ship more reasonably.... Show more
