These are nice little desktop speakers and a great entry-point for a turntable setup. I compared them audibly side by side to the Fluance ai61's and these had a more-balanced and smoother sound in my opinion. However, I noticed that when turning these speakers up past ~70%, they began to distort and "squash" the audio. I think they're definitely worth the money, but also having said that, if you're willing to sink in ~$200-300 more, I'd definitely jump up to the Klipsch The Fives...similar size, but significantly better-sounding. The Fives do have a slightly 'warmer' sound to them, but that sound pairs so nicely with LP's. The Kanto YU6's sounded good on my turntable with my Sumiko Ranier cartridge, however, they didn't have as wide and open of a sound than The Fives.

I'm exited about this product. Powerfull, well designed, with enough connectivity possibilities and for me a quality of sound that I didn't found in this construcitve dimensions. The opportunity to enlage the Speakers with a Sub were for me also a criteria to set my choice to KANTO YU8. Maybe I'll enlage the system with the SUB8 but till now I'm happy in this constellation. In actual systems there is often the possibility to connect the speakers themselves via bluetooth, but I didn't found a propper solution that is able to concure with KANTO YU8 My full recomendation

I bought these speakers to replace an ancient set of Labtec USB computer speakers. Specs alone told me they would sound vastly superior to those older speakers and they do. For the small room and relatively low volume levels that I use, they have power and range that is well in excess of what's needed. The resulting sound is smooth, well-balanced from bass through mid-range to treble and free of distortion. What marked these speakers out from the competition were the many different inputs available, in particular the two Toslink optical inputs to a built-in DAC that I use for the two separate desktops on my computer desk. These bypassed the mild hum problems that my tangle of wires and dodgy grounding induced in any analog speaker that I tried, leaving me with a ... Good quality product with very nice sound quality. Just a shame that it doesn't come with an optical audio cable. Delivery was quick and drama-free.
I got these to upgrade my computer sound setup from the crappy cheap speakers I had before. They are massive speakers to put on a desk so be aware of that. The sound they produce is great. I use the included AUX cable to hook up to my PC and off they went. I definitely recommend if using on computer to look through your sound settings on OS to get the best out of them. The bass produced isn't room shaking but is definitely adequate for my EDM music and can shake up the desk they are on quite well. I am planning to add one of their subs down the road. This speaker has auto standby and power up so you can never really have to fiddle with them unless you're switching the input. Speaking of inputs, there are MANY! Optical, RCA, AUX, Bluetooth. I can have my PC, PS4, TV and phone connected at the same time and switch to whatever I want. It would be nice if it would auto switch but just nitpicking. The speakers also look great in my opinion. The exposed drivers and tweeters are a great look. I just have to fight the urge to poke at them. The one criticism I have is there seems to be a slight hiss whenever the speaker is on. The hiss is quite faint, and I can only really hear it when I place my ear right next to the speaker. It doesn't affect the sound at all and when any sound plays through the speaker you cannot hear any hiss. Overall, I am really happy with the purchase and am very happy with Kanto as a brand.
I'm a gamer and PC builder not an audiophile. I don't own a turntable yet. I did pair these with a sub for a 2.1 setup. The power saving mode is audible but very quiet. I do not detect any humming from the amp. If you use the 3.5mm input, make sure it is thick enough to shield EMI/RFI interference. I originally used a standard thin 3.5 mm cable and it picked up allot of interference. I swapped it out with a thick 22AWG 3.5 mm cable and the interference is gone. I had a Z906 setup already that is great for movies and gaming but it's not that great for music. I actually spend time listening to music on my PC now because of these. Seriously, they sound that good. They are my primary PC desktop speakers now and also sound fantastic playing games (that don't require a ... MoreI'm a gamer and PC builder not an audiophile. Best pair of Monitor speakers for the price. Bluetooth was super important to me as I'm always moving around the house, but the fact it comes with a built in pre-amp makes a world of difference too. Highs are great, lows are great too, and these things get loud if you want them too. Mids could be a tiny bit better, but not enough to where I'd complain. If you're on the fence about getting a sub, wait, these things bring plenty of bass. If you already know you're the type of person who needs that extra rumble then go ahead and pick one up. Connections are super easy, setup takes literally 2 minutes start to finish and everything works with little fidgeting.
My first thoughts were that these speakers were a bit flat. I was coming from a pretty decent in-wall setup that had great imaging and frequency range, but was a hassle to turn on and also had Bluetooth connection problems.Right out of the box these sounded more compressed with less imaging quality. But very clear with good presence and the Bluetooth connection was very good. I used them for a few days, adjusting their position in the room and then re-compared them to my in-wall setup.Totally changed my mind. These are great for what they are for the money. Maybe they could use a sub-woofer, but I am using them with a computer setup so I really don't need to shake the house with them. But they do go quite loud if you want. And the sound may even improve a bit at higher levels. So for the ease of connecting to Bluetooth, the great clarity and overall sound quality, I will be using these instead of the problematic in-wall system I used to love.If there is one issue to mention, connecting to the headphone jack on my computer introduces a lot of noise and even picks up my neighbors tv sometimes. They say you can ground them to fix this problem but I have not been able to make that work. So the only way I can listen to them with my computer is through Bluetooth.
I'm impressed by how nicely made these are, and they sound very good too. I like having the option of plugging music sources in, including a turntable without a preamp. They paired with my MP3 player without a hitch. Wish I could say the same for my laptop, but it seems to have a problem (the laptop). It's in the shop now and I hope my guy can figure out what's wrong. The packaging is impressive too--everything very simple and safe. I'm very pleased with them and can't wait to hear them in my cabin in the boonies where they'll replace an old JVC boombox.
I recently bought a Bluetooth the turn turntable and after listening to vinyl again after a long. If not not doing so I decided to upgrade my speakers from a Bose soundwave Just wanted to know more stereo experience upon listening to some classic albums I was really blown away by the clarity of these speakers and I was hearing things in records that I've been listening to for better part of 40 years that I've never heard before really pleased with these.
