So, this K4 replaced a really old Karcher that I decided wasn’t big enough to clean our new patio/driveway. First the good points:Excellent power on tap. Plenty of power for my needs.The patio attachment is amazing. Was a bit time-consuming to assemble, but easy to use. Made short work of cleaning the concrete flagstones that make up my back patio and paths (using the high pressure nozzle). Wow what a difference! I had no idea they were so dirty. Actually looking forward to doing the drive and front path now :). Have not yet used the car-cleaning kit, but intend to do so. Just struggling a bit to understand the instructions for this, but no doubt it will make sense in the end just as the other bits did. I have seen other reviews criticising the hose storage system, but I've had no issues with this - all winds up nice and neatly ready for next use.

Once you have pulled the hose out which is 8 meteres so a good length here! it stays spiralled and if you have the gun attached as expected from the the storage position you have to detach it to unspiral the whole thing by 'twisting' to straighten the hose, 'quite frustrating'! I have not tried the foam kit as yet but other reviewers have said how it can use the full bootle in one wash (use) i am not sure theirs may of been setup correctly! It's the winding of the power hose back on the machine thats where the weakness is, also the hose joint connector is very weak and any stress here will cause it to leak and maybe 'shear' off, this is plastic when it should of been a metal design. Another simple omission is a clip to coilr the power lead and store, (the lead is not very long) extra 3 metres would of been nice to remove power a way fom the 'wet area'.The instruction booklet is poor in that the assembly pictures could be a little clearer and enlarged to show where some of the screws go, Why the text has to be so small for the key information is ridiculous.Value for money ? I'm not sure, I think there are other machines out there that can do most of the same for 1/2 the price.I have also purchased the 'Facade and window cleaning kit' Not really a practical design, very difficult to hold and use due to the way it attaches to the gun.I think overall it is more a gimmick than a practical tool. Varable power could of been achieved by a Manual power control on the machine, the built in functional on the gun is temperamental and does not always work. The 'app' really does not justify the built in cost. Why do you need a Mobile phone phone at hand to wash your Car, Windows ect.I would sya avoid the Technoogy as it is a cost you can avoid and buy a cheaper machine.

It refused to accept the serial number even though I typed it in exactly as shown on the cardboard insert supplied with the washer. Eventually I figured it out from the error message. It wouldn’t accept a serial number in the format 12345678. It had to be typed in as 12.34-567.8 or something like that. Karcher’s IT developers clearly have no idea how to design web sites properly.The washer itself is powerful and very quiet. The pressure nozzle is disappointing however. To alter the pressure you have to turn the end of it. There are no click stops and the amount you have to turn to make a difference to the pressure is tiny. This makes it difficult to control. Every time I put the hose down the setting was different when I picked it up. After a while this became frustrating and annoying. When the setting was correct, however, the jet was effective at getting grime off the car.There’s no easy way of storing the power cord and hose – you just wind them round the body of the washer and they can easily fall off. Surely there’s a better way than this.Overall, the basic washer is good but pretty much everything else seems to have not been thought through or tested properly. I don’t recommend this product.
Very happy with this cleaner. Very powerful and convenient use of built in hose as well as the click and clean feature which automatically switches between detergent (ie car cleaning, stone/paver cleaning products) and higher pressure water. This is now the way I was our cars instead of the carwash. Does a great job. Also use for maintaining clean pavers and exposed brickwork at home. I use in conjunction with the T5 surface cleaner, having upgraded from a lower power, noisier, less effective alternative brand. Looking to get the gutter cleaner to do gutters at home. With that, will have a complete cleaning solution. This is certainly not the cheapest cleaner, but it certainly does a very good job.

Assembly was a bit fidgety - you need good light (or a torch) to be able to see the deep recesses where the various screws go in. The assembly instructions were easy enough to follow.The main thing we discovered is that the soap foam only works when the hose pressure is on the "soft" setting. There is no soap foam when using the patio cleaning T5 rotatory accessory. However, the T5 is extremely effective at removing grime, debris and light moss from the surfaces of the patio tiles. The equipment is not intuitive - you really need time to figure out how the bits and pieces attach together and what they do. We are hoping that the machine will give us 5+ years of service, even if the hose needs to be replaced with better tubing.

Fourth one came with more scuff marks again and Head Office could understand why so many had problems. So I used the K4 the other day on a small piece of flagging from the back gate to the patio. This would take half a day and I’d be soaked as I was using the lance to individually clean each flag. But this bad boy came with patio cleaner attachment. I was done in 20 mins and not even wet. You do need the lance to get into the corners. All I can say is wow what a machine. Very well built great options to choose from and delivered bang on time and date. Brilliant definitely recommend.
