Karcher WV 5 Premium Window Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

The WV 5 Plus is nice bit of equipment for cleaning windows, tiles, mirrors and shower screens. The WV 5 Plus includes a spray bottle with microfibre cloth, the hand held vacuum, the charging cable and a sachet of glass cleaning concentrate. The vacuum is lightweight and easy to use. However the spray bottle may need to be improved as it leaks as soon as it is not kept upright and it does not matter how tight it is. Overall the kit does a great job at cleaning surfaces with no smears. Definitively recommended!

There are lots of positives… I cleaned windows, a door and my bathroom tiles less time than it would normally take me to clean a window. There was one streak so I just went back over it and it was gone! No streaks, faster cleaning no arm ache from buffing away streaks. Negatives are that it’s quite large once put together, so not great if you have limited space. Also, the instructions are dreadful. I’m not sure I’m even using it properly as it leaks a bit that’s probably my fault rather than a design issue.

Amazing but...

Bought this as there was a 50% Off offer.Very sceptical thinking it was an unnecessary gadget. How wrong I was. It made ahiet work of my large double glazed windows leaning them completely streak free. Excellent also on my glass induction hob and incidentally my kitchen work top.The but??Water bottle fiddly to empty as is reassembly.Well made though. I use it almost daily

Don’t need elbow grease!

Whilst the Karcher is a great product, it is sometimes easier to get abit of kitchen roll and some window cleaning spray… also adds abit of a workout if your using kitchen roll.I can’t really fault the product as it’s done a fantastic job on cleaning the shower glass. The only downside is you have to remember to charge it. I’ve also used the Karcher on getting condensation off the windows which was great, however because I wasn’t cleaning the windows it’s left a streak on where the window was dry… definitely use if you have a lot of window to clean.

I bought this to replace a Karcher window vac that I’ve had since they were first made. The new one is superb.Quiet with excellent suction and battery life.My wife refuses to dispose of the old one because it is still working very well. That’s Karcher quality for you. It means that we have one upstairs and one downstairs. Great price too.

I had high hopes for this piece of kit but, although the spray cleans superbly, the idea that the machine might leave a gleaming streak free finish is still just a dream. In my case it has left plenty of streaks visible in certain light. I consider this a waste of my money. I expected too much. Used it once and now it's packed away, probably never to be used again. However, I may invest in more of the spray liquid and use a cloth and my elbow grease as I did before!

Karcher WV5 is a nice piece of kit that works at all angles. Really pleased with it in the first month of use. Then the on off button went and it switched on randomly at 3am and wouldn't stop until the battery was removed. Charged fine but started up again as soon as off charge. Returned for an exchange as it is so much better than cheaper versions so giving it a second chance. If this one goes then it will indicate a common issue. Until then I like it.

Stick to the old fashion way of cleaning windows

I purchased this last week in Harvey Norman and used yesterday and my impression of this product is Do Not waste your money. If there was a 14 day return policy, I would be in a queue to return.Firstly, the box states fully charged, not the case, charge well in advance as the battery does drain quickly.Secondly, the bottle leaks, your hands will be wet, not ideal on a cold dayThirdly, the suction head, both, are dreadful, it leaves suction lines as you move down the window, it leaves streaks, does not really get into the corners and you are left using a cloth and a shining cloth to get the windows looking good. I reversed the machine in my hand and started from the bottom up...... I had watch all the YouTube videos and could not master the streak free, easy of use. Also important to note they only use the machine to a half way point whilst standing, you don’t see the machine cleaning the entire window.Save your euro’s and clean your windows by hand, you will be much quicker and you will get a better quality clean.

Third Time Lucky

Purchased with good expectations from reviews. Instructions are very poor with no wording. After spending considerable time trying to work out why the Vac 5 Plus would not charge, we analysed that it was faulty and returned it to store for a new unit. The second unit exhibited the same fault and it too was returned to store. We insisted the third unit was tested in store and was successful.The unit is ok for removing condensation on small interior windows.and mirrors but is inefficient for large expanses of glass such as ranch-sliders or floor to ceiling glass. Here it is limited by the squeegee wiper width and the volume of both the collector tank and spray bottle. Considerable trial and error of technique is required to avoid streaking
