Avoid the mushroom head
Moving from a giro helmet - I wanted something that was a bit more aero but maintaining protection and not looking like a prophylactic… couldn’t be happier. Yes, it’s a bit pricey but the quality is excellent and the features (really good fit and finish) are worth it in my opinion. Quick delivery as always from Sigma.... Show more

Beautiful helment, fundamentally flawed
This is a great helmet - beautifully made, well thought out, very comfortable. There is room in the back for a ponytail, room for your sunglasses, the straps feel very premium - a class act all round.Unfortunately, the Octofit dial at the back is prone to falling apart, and cannot be put back together again. And once the rubber piece that holds it all together falls out, there's no putting it all back together. The fact that there's already a youtube video on this should tell you that my experience wasn't unique.A real shame, because this helmet is otherwise a class act.... Show more

Decent helmet - 7/10
Decent helmet, fits well, good ventilation but not as good as the previous version, especially when considering the increased price!Ratchet feels a little weak, not as stable as previous model Kask helmets. The fastening clip has also changed and doesn't seem as robust as the previous models (Mojito, Protone etc.) which you are reminded of each time you do it up/undo it.... Great update
A great update ,to an already exceptional helmet. I always liked the look of the original, but the more squareish design elements bring it in line with the current trends without changing the overall look too much. The adjustment dial feels sturdier now, although I liked the previous one because the dial was more exposed and easier to adjust with gloves or numb fingers. I feel it sits a slight bit wider than the original Protone, so if you fall in between two sizes (58cm for example) and the original was slightly too small, it might be worth sizing down for this one (depending on the shape of your skull, of course).... Kask protone icon helmet
Purchased this about a month ago and I found it extremely comfortable especially the chinstrap which had a little bit of leather, also there was so much ventilation that at one point I didn’t need to wear a cycle cap underneath it. Finally the price was reasonable even a sale price.... Show more

Lovely helmet!
An unnecessary upgrade to my original Protone, but the sale price was irresistible. The WG11 stuff is a nice to have, it's as good looking, comfy and airy as ever, and (most importantly) the matt white looks great. In my opinion, the Protone is the perfect rouleur of a helmet - excellent ventilation coupled with semi-aero - perfect for hills, flats and all-season use.... The latest version of cyclings best helmet
A matte white Protone Icon replaces my original Protone in gloss black (I like the classics). The old version protected me in a head on collision with a windscreen but it needed to be replaced. The Icon is a nice upgrade, sharper lines, better finish. The internals are much nicer, the pads look and feel better quality and the adjustable gizmo on the back is upgraded too. The name says it all, I think the Protone deserves the name Icon, it’s still the coolest lid on the ProTour.... Show more
