Kask Protone Icon WG11 Matte Lavender Road Helmet Small

Reasonably light. What I read of product suggests I get superior protection. Helmet wobbles a little right to left but fits well front to back. Like most safety gear, hope I never have to test how well it works. Like the way you can easily adjust where the back strap sits. Seems expensive but that is how it goes if you do not want to buy something made in China. Much cheaper than buying it locally.

Amazing Helmet

I’ve put off dropping the change for a Protone helmet for a while. I was hesitant about the sizing, but ordered a Medium based upon the sizing charts. I am so glad that it did - it fit perfectly. It’s got a great fit and doesn’t look like a mushroom. It is comfortable and has great ventilation. I like it so much that I’m already considering adding another to my collection .

Beautiful helment, fundamentally flawed

This is a great helmet - beautifully made, well thought out, very comfortable. There is room in the back for a ponytail, room for your sunglasses, the straps feel very premium - a class act all round.Unfortunately, the Octofit dial at the back is prone to falling apart, and cannot be put back together again. And once the rubber piece that holds it all together falls out, there's no putting it all back together. The fact that there's already a youtube video on this should tell you that my experience wasn't unique.A real shame, because this helmet is otherwise a class act.

Dont fix it if it aint broke

I loved my 2 previous generation Protone helmets, but this new version Icon is not as comfortable. They messed very slightly with the fit which to me is a big deal because I was on the upper limit of a medium. The medium in this Icon version was simply too close for comfort fit wise and as a result was not comfortable. If you are not on the upper end of one size of the previous version, you will likely not have this problem, but for me if I dont fit into a given helmets Medium, I wont go to the large because I find larges in general, regardless of company, just have too big of a “look” to what I want. They dont hold glasses in the front as securely as my Kasks but do a good enough job that I look past it for the superior comfort they provide. Glad Kasks fixing something that was not broke pushed me to try something different because prior to that, I did not think a better overall helmet for me existed until I tried the POCs, which I would not normally have experimented with. Outside of the fit, Kask makes a quality lid with good design and quality materials but I feel the messing with the fit warranted the low rating.

Fit similar to last generation

Fit is similar to previous generations so all good there. I did have to push some of the pads back on to the Velcro when it was shipped as they appeared to come off in transit as they seemed to be very lightly attached, but none have gone missing since using a few times. I like that none of the bare polystyrene areas are painted, as this flaked off in the previous version after a while and you could hear it vibrating in the wind which was super annoying.

Great update

A great update ,to an already exceptional helmet. I always liked the look of the original, but the more squareish design elements bring it in line with the current trends without changing the overall look too much. The adjustment dial feels sturdier now, although I liked the previous one because the dial was more exposed and easier to adjust with gloves or numb fingers. I feel it sits a slight bit wider than the original Protone, so if you fall in between two sizes (58cm for example) and the original was slightly too small, it might be worth sizing down for this one (depending on the shape of your skull, of course).

Kask Protone

Great looking helmet. The Matt white is a super cool colour and as usual the Kask helmets are really comfortable to wear even beyond the 100 mile mark. Very light so you don’t notice your wearing it and although the protone has been around a while the shape is still one of the best looking out there. Usual excellent Tredz customer service- easy purchase , quick delivery and excellent sale price. Cheaper than anywhere else. 🚴‍♂️👍🏻

Light and well made

I bought this helmet for my partner and contacted Sigma to see if they had any in stock to pick it up the same day or the next. The salesperson on the phone was very helpful. If you're doubtful about anything on their great and easy-to-use website, pick up the phone and speak to somebody. The helmet is light and is packaged in a solid box so as not to get damaged.I have purchased many things from Sigma and will continue to do so.

Love this helmet!

I've previously used Specialized Prevail (1 & 2) and Bontrager Velocis, among others. The new Protone Icon is now my favorite. The fit is perfect (my head is more round than oval). The strap is super comfortable – I love how the clasp is offset. The padding is very comfortable and comes off easily to clean. The Octofit+ is comfortable and adjustable and keeps the helmet in place without squeezing my head. Cooling is fine...I like the lower vents that are just above the brow. I used this in summer and now in winter as well. Importantly, my Oakley's fit in nicely to the front vents (upside down). Finally I think from a looks perspective, its super cool looking...very pro. Highly recommend!
