It’s a good looking jacket and the fact that it’s lightweight and packable— I didn’t hesitate to buy this down jacket. I even bought one for my husband. However, it doesn’t give enough warmth for a sunny day in winter. We’ve used it for a stroll around town and for short walks but it’s a naaah. Plus, almost all the feather from inside the jacket are coming out since we’ve been using it. I’ve had different kind of down jackets with me but the feathers are not coming out like this one, this one’s just too much. It’s too messy, I had to use my lint roller every time. I don’t recommend this item, it’s not a good buy for me.

I’m an active manual wheelchair user so my jackets tend to get quite a battering. My old Heli lasted me four years before a sleeve finally went so I had no problem getting another. I’ve used this new one over the last three weeks for only a few hours in total. Unfortunately, one sleeve is already losing down from the seam. I don’t know if they’ve changed the design or what but it’s hard to see how one jacket could last years and another a matter of days. Kathmandu are not an adaptive clothing brand so I don’t expect perfection but it seems like the quality/price ratio isn’t what it was four years ago. Maybe this is an anomaly but I can’t afford to buy another winter jacket right now, especially one that won’t last. Jacket is warm & good quality. Size is larger than expected. The feather down escapes through the fabric leaving a tiny trail. Quite amusing. Keeping for extra warmth over bulky clothing.

This is quite a thin jacket. But in no way is this a bad thing. It is extremely warm and snug. The down is amazing. Much warmer than inferior synthetic fibres. It keeps warm in without overheating , which is typical of natural fibres. Layer up and put on a decent windbreaker on top of this layer and you will be snug as. Very very light. Typically high quality from Kathmandu. Canadian goose is all very well but a layer like this from them costs $1000 upwards.Great great jacket. Very smart and functionallyExceptional.
I have hooded down jackets and vests but wanted a jacket with no hood. I am loving this jacket, it's warm enough on a cold day for my liking, same as my hoodeds. No regrets buying at all. I downsized by 1 size this time and found it's just fine giving a more snug fit but still plenty of room to zip up. Good service and delivery, thanks.
I bought this jacket as I have a very similar one in the coat version so I thought it would be much the same. I chose the smallest size (size 6) based on my other Katmandu jacket, but I found the fit to be odd.Around the body, it seemed loose and not form-fitting. The sleeves were too long and also very baggy, so most of the material bunched around my elbows and wrists. As always the material and quality of these jackets are great but the fit on this jacket just didn't hit the mark.
Very disappointing with the current quality of Kathmandu. Been a fan of this Heli Down Jacket for many year but, with this recent purchase it was the worst. I would say it is even worst than Uniqlo quality. Duck feather keeps coming out and leave traces everywhere I sit. Worst part, it do not provide the warmth as it is supposed to. Hate it when duck feather keep coming and made the jacket seems like a$20 one.
I love the colour! And it's light perfect to wear over 2 layers. It can fold away into your tote bag or back pack. It fits snug. I got a size 12 and its comfortable. I had so many questions where did I get it. And how beautiful the lavender or soft voilet colour. Thank you, just love it.
I was a bit shocked when this first arrived to see how paper thin it is, but when I put it on, I was also surprised at how warm it is. Yes, I can wear it in winter over a jumper. It has a very elegant cut for a puffer jacket which is exactly what I wanted, so I can wear it on more formal outings. It has lost the odd feather, but nothing significant.
I bought this recently after searching other places for a good coat that was light, not bulky, and warm, and found nothing that fit that until I came here. I am extremely pleased with the purchase and the fact that it doesn't make me look oversized like many coats. To get one that actually does the job without being heavy is a blessing. So light weight, I hardly feel like I have it on at times. Brilliant buy.
