As a newcomer to fountain pens, I love this pen - Penaddict did not steer me wrong. It is fast becoming a constant companion. It's tiny when closed, and with the screw threaded cap I can carry it in my pants pocket anywhere without worry about it leaking; it's even small enough to fit into the watch pocket without sticking out much, but when the cap is "posted" onto the end, it's long enough to fit comfortably in the hand for writing. (You can write without putting the cap on the end, of course, but I find it a little awkward with my hands being large and the pen part short.)As others have said, the Extra Fine nib on the Kaweco is about the same width as a Fine from Pilot, for example. The line weight and pen nib feel is just about perfect for what I was looking for, switching from roller-ball and gel pens - no scratchiness, a nice smooth feel and a thin but solid line. The gold-plating is a nice bonus - looks classy, even if I'm not sure whether it affects the feel.Bottom line, this pen is a bargain at around $25-30, looks classy, and I'd recommend it as a great fountain pen for beginners, especially if you want to get in the habit of carrying a fountain pen around with you. I can not decide whether I like this or my other new pen, a Pilot Prera, better. They're both great.

Lovely little pen that's a joy to write and draw with. This is my first fountain pen and I would recommend it for other beginners.Just something to keep in mind is that since it is smaller than most fountain pens and only has one mini cartridge, it doesn't hold as much ink as other fountain pens so you will have to refill it more often. This isn't a product flaw, it's an intended part of the design, as it makes the pen more compact. For reference, I bought a medium nib, and typically write at least six A5 pages every day, and I tend to sketch and write notes throughout the day as well. With that kind of use I find that I need to refill it every 1-2 days.

A lovely pen! This is my second fountain pen that I've bought (first me the Platinum Preppy), and it has lived up and surpassed my expectations. I've been using it for about 1 month now and I can say it is definitely worth buying. The gold on the black looks very elegant, and the plastic feels very sturdy. The cap is double threaded, so if you're worried about it coming off, don't fret. The pen body by itself is very short so you kinda have to post the cap. Some people might not like this because it might shift the weight back but I haven't noticed that happening as the cap is fairly light. I also paired it with the gold nostalgic clip and it really completes the look of the pen. I still haven't used the blue ink that comes with it as I ordered separately black ... MoreA lovely pen! This is my second fountain pen that I've bought (first me the Platinum Preppy), and it has lived up and surpassed my expectations. Happy writing!

I had higher hopes for my Kaweco Classic Sport. Unfortunately, I've found the pen lacking. The plastic feels cheap and flimsy. The flow has been erratic. When working, it writes well enough. The extra fine nib is exactly what I'm looking for. However, it doesn't feel good in my hand. Also, if it is a pen you are interested in, I highly recommend getting the clip for it.
This is my first Kaweco pen and I absolutely love the writing feel of it. I find this pen to be smoother than the similarly priced Lamy Safari which are a bit scratchy. I also like the screw close mechanism for a portable fountain pen, I have no fear it will open and soak my bag in ink.The only downside is the smooth plastic outside is prone to scratches/marking. Personally I see this as more of a ‘patina’ effect showing the pen has been used, but some may find this frustrating. Comparatively the matte plastic finish of the Lamy safari is quite hard wearing and less likely to show a scratch.
After weeks of research I decided to buy the Kaweco Sport Classic with an extra fine nib. I heard horror stories from reviewers saying some pens had bad nibs so they could be hit or miss. I expressed my concerns about this to Goulet Pens and asked that they tested my pen before shipping it to me. They tested my pen and even sent me a signed hand written note. As far as my experience with the pen, I'm happy to say my pen is a hit. It writes smoothly on regular, Rhodia, and Tomoe River paper. It really is an excellent writer and I love the fine lines it lay. Before losing it, I had a Pilot Metropolitan with a medium nib and it wrote too broad for my writing. The Kaweco Sport Classic with an extra fine nib fits my writing far better. I love the way it writes, looks, and how easy it is to travel with. I can just drop it into my pants pocket and go without worrying about it getting damaged. I went for the Kaweco Sport Classic in green which was the right decision. Its a deeper classier green than the photos on this site show. It has a beautiful vintage design that's small yet masculine in green. When I say its small I mean its small. More so than I thought it would be after watching so many videos on it. The small size doesn't take anything away from the comfort of Kaweco Sport Classic as it is very comfortable to hold and write with.Being a cartridge/converter fountain pen that can be converted into an eyedropper pen gives the user options. I use it with a Monteverde Mini Converter and although its not a perfect fit, it does work. This is an excellent pen for first time fountain pen users as well as experienced users. I love this pen and am very satisfied both with it and the customer service I received.
I've been on the fence for long time about the Kaweco Sport. After reading some mixed reviews about bad nibs, flow issues, and the converter not fitting well I basically scratched the Sport off my wish list. After numerous days in the garage recently and avoiding taking my pricy pens into the dust, grime, and glue of my workbench I needed a pen I wouldn't worry about beating up. So as any good pen enthusiast I decided to look for a new pen that could be my garage buddy for under $30. There's a lot of choices at that price point and I have tried a few but the Kaweco Sport was right there as always in the mix so I decided to pull the trigger and give it a shot. There's a lot of choices at that price point and I have tried a few but the Kaweco Sport was right there as always in the mix so I decided to pull the trigger and give it a shot. I figured it was an inexpensive pen so if I didn't like it, the Sport could just stay in the garage. To my surprise the Sport gave a fantastic first impression, it had a great build quality, the plastic felt very nice, I was able to secure the converter and it wrote well for an EF. The Sport spent the next week in my pocket and my appreciation for this little pen grew, it did a fantastic job riding with me everywhere. The best feature has been the liner on the inside of the cap that keeps any ink splatter off the section and off my hands which is super handy for a pocket pen (I have pens with this feature, just wasn't expecting it on the Sport). From a long day at the office to working in the garage I'm extremely happy with my purchase I only wish I had done it sooner. Tip 1: The converter took quite a bit of pressure to get it secured into place. Once in place it felt very snug and I've haven't had any leaking issues yet. Tip 2: Even with the hexagon cap the pen will roll down a steep driveway, I would recommend a clip for most users.
Excellent pen. VERY happy. I was worried about one so small. But I needn't have. With the cap posted it's a good length. With the cap on it hides in your hand or pocket.Lovely nib too (I went Fine). It's become my song-writing, note-taking, general scribbling pen. I have many fountain pens, but this is the first time I've owned a fountain pen that comfortably fulfils those "need a pen to scribble something down" tasks. And I've been using fountain pens for 50 years!!
This pen is amazing. I have always wanted a fountain pen bc of how well they write, but I didn't want to spend lot of money to get it. This pen is exceptionally fun to write with, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. From the pictures it looks bigger, and the body looks like it is metal, however it is about 3 inches long and the body is a sturdy plastic. The tip is very well made and has iridium to make it glide on paper so we'll. The ink output is very smooth and easy to change cartridges. Definitely recommend it. Will continue to purchase ink for It until I want to spend the money on a larger metal one.
I have eyed one of these pens for years, but didn't see the need for it -- until I lost a couple of much more expensive pens from out of my pockets. When I lost my new Custom 74 Pilot, that did it -- the pen was eventually found, but I had bought one of these as my daily carry and have decided my beloved pens have to stay home or at least only come out dressed in a briefcase or sling bag. But I often don't carry a bag, so needed something *this small.* And it is small -- if you have one of the tiny Apica notebooks, this pen, when capped, is about 1/4 taller than the notebook. But I often don't carry a bag, so needed something *this small.* And it is small -- if you have one of the tiny Apica notebooks, this pen, when capped, is about 1/4 taller than the notebook. For me, this is perfect. I did buy the converter, though I think now it was a complete waste of money -- it's far too small to bother with when making the pen into an eyedropper has been perfect for me -- good silicone grease on the threads and nary a leak. I did not buy the clip as I think that just makes me more likely to put the pen somewhere it is again likely to separate itself from me, and without a clip, there's less bulk in my pocket. And by pocket, I mean the front indentation that Levi's considers a pocket on women's jeans. The Kaweco lays flat in that indentation and doesn't pop out at all. I bought the M nib and am sorry -- should have watched Brian's video before I chose -- the medium really is fatter than I bargained for but that's on me. The nib is very smooth. I have used several inks in it: Burma Road Brown is great, El Lawrence seemed a little too dry, Zhivago was good and it always flows well for me, and Eel Black was good. I like this so much and the ink capacity is so generous that in fact I am going to buy a second one and fill it with either Carbon Black or Document Black to use as a sketching/cartooning/doodling pen, and just keep this green one as my notes-on-the-fly EDC pen. For a functional, useful tool, $25 is a fair price -- and, if I lose it, I may be able to replace it without too much pain. I have fairly small hands, and the pen works for me posted or unposted, which is how I usually use it. If I need to write anything of length, the lightness of the pen makes it less comfortable, but your results may vary. I have had zero trouble with leaking; the nib is smooth; the cap does seem to tend to unscrew itself a little, but that may be because it's in that front pocket; it works with a couple of my crankier Noodler's inks. What's not to love?
