Vanilla has been THE fragrance I have always gravitated towards. I’ve tried nearly everything under the sun. From vanilla oils, mists, perfumes, body lotions butters- I’ve had my fair share of classic modern takes of vanilla scent profiles. Vanilla 28 is by far my favorite vanilla juice I’ve come across. This is NOT a basic, cloyingly sweet, juvenile scent. If it seems rather basic, I recommend to allow the juice to sit for awhile to develop a deeper scent. I’ve picked up heavily on brown sugar patchouli as the bottle sits longer as well. This adds this beautiful elevated element that many vanilla scents lack. Personally, I appreciate how it isn’t linear. With Kayali adding an Arabian touch to their fragrances, I can see how some people may either love or hate this fragrance. Nonetheless, it will always be a staple in my collection. For those who may not be fond of the scent alone, luckily Kayali formulated their juices so It layers beautifully with other scents. I layer this fragrance with almost all my other perfumes.

A nice staple vanilla!

This fragrance is the main reason why I wanted to try Kayali. I'm a gourmand perfume lover above all else and Vanilla 28 was on my radar from the beginning. I have a 50ml bottle of this juice, so I can already tell you I'm absolutely in love with this fragrance. It's one of the most beautiful vanilla fragrance I have smelled up until now. The opening is sweet, but mature, sensual and a bit dark. It gives me luxurious and opulent vibes through and through. On my skin, the tonka beans and the brown sugar mix together to form this incredible warm and sweet blanket. The drydown is warm and cozy because of the amber and musk with the patchouli giving it this grounded earthy scent. It's not cloying nor artificial which I have smelled in other vanilla fragrances. ABOUT THE JUICE'S COLOR: Kayali has mentioned several times that the juice may become darker over time because of the vanilla inside that changes the color. It's perfectly normal. The darker the juice, the more potent it becomes it also seems like. I have a dark mauve juice and I absolutely love it.

Dont treat this as a stand alone vanilla fragrance

I will start by saying that I normally do not like gourmand scents. But I like this one in limited use cases. I think you should not treat this as a vanilla fragrance, but as a floral fragrance with a base of brown sugar. It is not a fragrance I’d recommend wearing by itself. I like layering it with more unisex/masculine scents. For example, my favorite way to wear it is to layer one spray of Vanilla 28 with two sprays of Replica Autumn Vibes.Other than that, the actual fragrance is a lot more screechy at the beginning than the little sample I got a while back, as well as significantly weaker. But it can still be made work. I might even prefer it actually! It also lasts ~10 hours on my skin and projects strongly. FULL SIZE SMELLS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN SAMPLE

I got this in a free sample with another order I placed. The sample smelled AMAZING, and I've never gotten so many complements on perfume when I had the sample on. I decided to buy the $85 full size, and was so excited to wear it. When I got it, I sprayed it all over myself right before going out for the night and I was immediately taken aback. It smelled COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than the sample, and the smell was not good. This was super upsetting since I had to then deal with the bad smell all night. I then went right to the reviews on this product because I was thinking that maybe the one I received was a fluke. The reviews literally read my mind. Also, I personally don't care about this but others might, the color of the perfume is a dark brown, not the beige it's​ pictured as.

It’s an interesting vanilla scent. Not just your basic vanilla but a hint of woody scents and faintly giving me some oud, musk vibes but ever so slightly. So it’s a vanilla with depth. However, the projection sucks, nobody can really smell you unless they’re hugging and sniffing your skin. Certainly not the best out there in terms of fragrances but it is a nice vanilla. However, realistically, I might not buy it again if I find a better vanilla out there and I’m sure I will. I just feel like there are much better fragrances. It’s nice to wear to bed and maybe if you want something to wear for someone special to smell on your skin. The bottle is so pretty though. Unbelievably overrated

This perfume seems to be a staple in so many collections, a ride or die, a scent people can’t love without but I just can’t smell what other people are smelling. Perhaps I’ve smelt richer and deeper vanilla based scents but this vanilla smells sour and fades away very quickly into a strange watery scent. I was really looking foreword to this perfume but I was let down completely. I tried it under several of my other scents and still nothing but a metallic smelling watery vanilla that made me feel nauseous. There are definitely better vanilla scents out there but if you are looking to own another Kayali fragrance I can only recommend yum pistachio gelato !!!! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!!!
