These boots are everything that I've been searching for in a cold weather boot. Excellent construction, very comfortable, extremely warm and great ankle support. These are a dream for getting around in the snow. The soles have fantastic traction. Only thing lacking is sufficient support for high arches, but that's not an uncommon problem and easy to remedy with insoles. These are by far the best winter boots I've found for northern Canadian life, I expect them to be amazing in -40 with the 400g insulation. I've been jealous of men's footwear that sports that level of insulation, this is the first I've found for women! My feet get hot if I'm wearing wool socks and it's not below -10. Which is just what I was looking for an outdoors life in Northern BC. Nicely done, Keen!

Bought these shoes 2 weeks ago for my winter trip to Fairbanks for all kind of outdoor activities. I have a mixed feeling for these shoes. While the fit for my feet is right and comfortable, I did have pain above my ankle (mid calf) the first few days wearing the shoes. The top mid calf part kept pressuring my leg, but I thought I just needed to 'break' the shoes for first time wear and wore thick socks so I ignored the pain plus I did not have any other shoes for my trip. These were perfect for snow hike to Castner Glacier and stayed outside for few hours in what felt like -14 weather with deep snow. We were doing some Northern light photography. When we returned from our trip on Monday 4/4, I found out that I had 2 deep dark bruises ring shape on both my legs like ... MoreBought these shoes 2 weeks ago for my winter trip to Fairbanks for all kind of outdoor activities. So I am really having mixed feeling about these. I do like the shoes, but will these keep giving me black bruises everytime I wear ?

First I have to say Scheels is fantastic!!! It took me a few exchanges to get the perfect pair, they were very accommodating and very prompt!! They have the best policy for the shopper to be happy, which is great when you live far from any stores! The boots are warm, comfortable, have a great sole that grabs the snow, they have room for a warm boot sock, and break in quick. I wear an 8 1/2 and that is what ended up fitting in. I ordered a 9 as was recommended from many on the reviews, was too big.A perfect boot for winter walking!!!

I tried another brand of winter boots of a comparable price and I’m sold on the Keen boots. I returned the others, which were heavy and weirdly fitting. The Keen’s are lightweight, warm and are super easy to lace up.I saw that some people complained about the toe box not appearing wide like some keen’s are but I haven’t had any problems whatsoever despite having a wide foot. The inside is roomier than they look. Initially the he footbed felt a bit too firm. I was worried they’d be uncomfortable, but they’re absolutely fine. I’ve already taken multiple snowy trail hikes and walks on the road.Because the toe box isn’t as bulbous as other Keen styles are, it was easier to put my micro-spikes.I’m generally between an 8.5-9.5 and bought the 9.5, so I would have ... MoreI tried another brand of winter boots of a comparable price and I’m sold on the Keen boots. These are actually really good boots - super light and indeed keep your toes warm (I've put them through 10-40F conditions. Did a ton of research before buying new winter boots, and then waited to review until I had completed a decent amount of trekking in them. Results: great ankle support and toe-box width. Decent grip, though anything serious here in New England requires microspikes or crampons (which fit on easily).Comfortable, although after 10 miles the other day my left heel is rubbed raw. Not a fatal flaw, they're still new, and I'll add some moleskin to that part of the boot as well. Not overly clunky, and a good height for typical snow trails (anything above 2-3 feet and I'd probably add gaiters). After babying my beloved Leather Uggs through most of the winter, the lack of remaining tread and no weather break in site, I had to order a new pair of boots. I love Keen shoes so thought I would try these boots. My priorities, warm and light weight. They are light and rated to -40 degrees.I was hoping I would wear the boots a few times and then put them away until next winter. Winter is not over here in North Dakota, so I've worn them daily. I have an energetic golden retriever requiring daily walks. The boots keep my feet so warm I forget I am outdoors. I have plenty of room for my wide feet to be comfortable. The boot lightweight but constructed in such a way that my feet and ankles are supported. It's been extremely icy. I find the boots are great in snow, and with my cleats added, I am able to navigate icy sidewalks easily.I love my boots. I wish they were about an inch taller for deep snow.I definitely recommend Keen Revel IV High Polar Boots.
I bought these for winter walks with my dog in northern AB. We walk upwards of 5 km a day. So far, my feet have stayed toasty warm and the soles seem to have fantastic traction. The boots are well made and have great ankle support. They are a bit stiff in the upper part, but I’m hoping they will loosen up as I wear them more.I do find that they are a wider boot, and they fit a 1/2 size larger. I ordered a size 10.5 and I could have ordered a 10, which is my usual size in Keen sandals.Overall, an amazing boot for colder climates, and I would recommend them!
I am so happy with these boots. I have very narrow, long (size 9.5) feet. It is incredibly hard for me to find shoes and boots that fit, and often I end up buying expensive insoles to fill out the inside of the boot. I felt confident buying these online because of other reviewers complaining that they are too narrow. This is true, and it is what makes them perfect for me. I love that they are not bulky. The ankle support is excellent. I've used them every day for a week of hiking and walking with my dog here in WI. They are very warm, I tested them in 10-35 deg. F. I have the perfect amount of room in the toe. They were stiff at first, but not uncomfortably so. I can't wait to snowshoe in them, I think they will be perfect for it. I can go on and on. I was shopping for boots that would work well for snowshoeing. I have narrow feet, but I also have a bunion on my right foot. These were a little wide for me and the ankle support was not as good as the Oboz Bridger 9-inch Insulated B-Dry Boot. The Oboz fit like a glove, maybe a little tight (I tried them on with thick socks, same size as the Keens), but the toe box wasn't as roomy. I even stood/walked around with the Keens on one foot, the Oboz on the other for a couple hours to test after my feet swelled a little. Ultimately decided to stick with the Keens for bunion insurance. :)
i have gone through two pairs that were worn for just a few hours cleaning snow. on both pairs the quick lace upper metal hooks snapped off. never seen these type of loops snap on first boot i snapped 5 off and took them back for new pair in a different colour just in case. and my son wore them for half hr cleaning snow and he snapped off 6 of the loops on both feet.comfort is great. felt warm but after two pairs they must have an issue with quality control on the metal lace components.i also had to go one size larger
