Feet are the only parts of my kid that stay dry with these!

My 6YO goes HARD in the snow. His gloves, jacket, mid-layers, snow pants? They are all soaked by the end of a winter outdoor session. But, his feet remain warm and dry regardless of what he does in these boots! They are easy for him to take on and off and he can run and play in them easily. We are big fans!

Good boot

My kids had been wearing Kamik boots but as they grew out of their toddler years we found the boots to be too narrow. We switched to the Keen Lumi boots and loved those. Now the Lumi is discontinued we gave these ones a try. I like the reflective accents and light weight. I do find the upper part of the boot wider than the Lumi, which makes me worry more chance of snow getting in. Otherwise a good boot overall

Great boots but the liner is needed to be true to size, no replacements!

Keen won't replace lost boot liners, and the boot liner is required for the boot to fit appropriately. They recommended me to buy a new boot liner on amazon, but size big kid 1 wasn't available on there. Very disappointed that bootliner replacements aren't available. We wasted $85 and are in the middle of Winter in the mountains with no support from Keen on this pair. I do recommend the boot, they are perfect. Support for families depending on Keen? Not satisfied.

New Design is not as good as the old :(
17 November 2022

This is our child's third pair of Keen winter boots in three years, we have loved everyone up to this point, but this new version is disappointing. The old version (Lumi) was far superior to this new design.Keen still has the best fitting kids boots on the market, but:1. The liner is thinner than the previous model. It doesn't stand up on its own inside the boot, and it slides down into the boot. When the kid goes to put his foot in, the liner gets all crumpled up. (also mentioned in previous review)2. I assume that a thinner liner means this will not be as warm...3. The logo is way too big. Snow pants cover it up, so it's not a problem when playing outside, but it's embarrassing to wear without snow pants. Why is a logo this big necessary on a kid's boot?4. ... MoreThis is our child's third pair of Keen winter boots in three years, we have loved everyone up to this point, but this new version is disappointing. Not Waterproof, Big Disappointment
5 January 2023

We loved the Keen Lumi Boots II Winter boots and just wanted the next size up. Sad to find that style is no longer available. The Snow Troll looks similar but is not :( The liner makes it hard to step in and out of and they are not waterproof. We have to dry them out all the time. Super inconvenient and literally unsafe for extended winter adventures in Alaska. When I log into my account, the order history is blank... so I can't even start a return. Sent an email... Hope to hear from Keen soon.

Terrible design for a toddler boot
16 January 2023

These boots were purchased for our very cold -50 winters. I expected that for the cost of $100 for a pair of boots my child will only fit for one season that they would be wearable. The liners in these boots need to be held very tightly while your child slides their foot and and then within 15 minutes of wear, the liners are crunched into a ball at the bottom of the boot making them completely useless as a winter boot. I will be looking at other brands in the future.

Thin Liner or Not Waterproof
13 January 2023

My kid loves the boots. However, not sure if the liner is too thin or it is not waterproof, the boots get wet inside. Otherwise very good boots. I saw some comments about the liner sliding down and the boots being hard to put on. There is a trick about how to put on the boots. You can always take the liner out and wear the liner first, then put on the boots. It would be easier if it is in this way. I don't know if the boots are meant to design in this way, if it is, it is supposed to be videotaped to show people how to wear the boots as it's annoying if the kids keep asking parents to help them get the boots on.

Top quality…
24 November 2022

This boot has a waterproof outer shell, a Velcro strap to cinch in the foot, and a warm removable inner liner for extra warmth. My grandson goes to an outdoor school in BC and the snow in November is already ridiculous. Having waterproof gear is a must because we hover in the -1C to. -5 C. . Keen is a dependable brand that makes this boot choice easier. We want it to last at least the full winter season.

Wish it was better

Really wanted to love this boot. Keen products are such good quality and they have a wider toe box than most, which we like. But this boot really missed the mark - while the quality of materials and wide toe box and roomy fit were good, 2 things made us decide to return the boot. The liner is somewhat thin and they don’t stay up well when trying to put it on. You have to grab onto both the liner and the outer boot material while pushing your foot in. This is cumbersome and too much hassle for kids, especially for younger ones, this might not even be possible for them to do on their own. My 9 and 7 year old can do it, but did not like this about the boot. Also, there is a strong ‘vanilla’ scent which was off putting. I had contacted the company to understand what this is, and while I appreciate that it is a non toxic scent added to the boot to make it smell better than burnt rubber (due to a new process they are using to manufacture the boot that is better for the environment), the scent was too strong for us. But the main reason these went back is the liner sliding down when putting on the boot. It’s too bad, otherwise good quality!

Worst liners ever
21 January 2023

I bought these boots because they seemed warm and sturdy, and I also love that they go up to size 7 because my son has giant feet but he’s young and I don’t want to buy him men’s boots yet. I have had keen footwear before that we love, but these really don’t live up to expectations. After he wore them once, the liners started coming out of the boots every time he takes the boots off, and when he puts them on, the liners slide down into the boot. The only solution is to remove the liners, put them on first, and then put on the outer boot. I tried them myself and they are incredibly frustrating. Super disappointing.
