The Price is what it is! The build and sound quality is high, so a real winning one-of-a-kind product "BUT" only as good as what your feed them with. These speakers are very reveling and unforgiving, if you play or stream a bad recording/signal. At 64y/o set-up was "NOT" simple as you scan a code to open an APP for instructions but I'm not of the modern age, but you better have a smart SMART Phone as is the fashion for APP Everything. I bought these smart speakers for my computer use wall mounting them on homemade shelfs as too tight to buy the dedicated wall mounts (That I don't think would take the weight?) If this is your idea, I found the Bluetooth link had a slight delay when watching music videos, and "I" found that aggravating so sorted with a USB-C to USB-C ... MoreThe Price is what it is! So yes watching a high-quality video the sound and sound stage is Holographic! I don't pay for a streaming service but the free one/s are well catered for. Internet Radio is another big plus for me and I'm still exploring the world of 7,000 stations. Using them for you TV sound would be amazing so with the music streaming feature, much better than a Soundbar. Quality is everything, and they will cover 90% of all your requirements but they do make a bigger model! All except Red and White have a fabric covering so cleaning could be troublesome? And both speakers need mains electric power supply but are not power hungry and near to nothing on standby like all modern products. On line video reviews should answer all your questions and show the setting up procedure.

First off amazing service from Richer Sounds; ordered in the afternoon and delivered the next day as promised. The speakers themselves have a lovely finish and too me look great. Masterful packaging to which properly protects the product, is easy to get into and is fully recyclable. The important bit - the speakers sound great - I’m streaming from Amazon Music (paid for account therefore with HD content) and will try Tidal but definitely not disappointed! Connectivity on the speakers is great although I’m not actually using what is available. The Kef app seems good so far and no issues getting it to do what I want and setup was easy. My only gripe is the remote feels a bit cheap. I don’t really need to use it but if I do it is a little underwhelming; especially ... MoreFirst off amazing service from Richer Sounds; ordered in the afternoon and delivered the next day as promised. The speakers themselves have a lovely finish and too me look great. Total Waste of Money. DO NOT BUY THIS SPEAKER IS JUNK. Does not stay connected, takes forever to reconnect but when it does it sounds worse than a cheap $49 Echo Ball Speaker. Best Buy Sales reps most get something to push these junk speakers. I was conned into buying these speakers for LG OLED TV. I went to BestBuy looking to purchase the best LG Sound Bar system because I wanted the best external speaker integration with my LG OLED TV. The LG Sound Bar system that has a sub, 2 surround sound back speakers, 2 front speakers and a center sound bar speaker was less than 1/2 the price of these two worthless KEF-LSXII speakers. I am very torn writing this review. Id like to start saying I returned these speakers because the secondary speaker cone was rattling at mid volume with slight bass. Definitely a defect and from what I can tell, rare coming from KEF. These speakers have a beautiful soundstage. If you turn the speakers on with your eyes closed, you wont be able to point out exactly where the cone is. They are phenomenal for the right listener. Jazz, classical, string instruments, etc are beautiful. Modern music, rap, dance, electronic, etc will not be this speakers strong suit. I wouldn't recommend these for gaming or movies. The bass just isn't there. I'm no basshead but these things are very bright. If you want the soundstage and form factor then I would suggest pairing these with ... MoreI am very torn writing this review. Wow these are good for computer speakers! Everything you hear about how good KEF powered speakers is true. As I said I use them as computer speakers at my work desk. The connectivity of these what originally got my attention. It has about every plug and wireless connection available. I purchased these without seeing or hearing them knowing BB would take them back if I was not satisfied. They are good sized but put out FANTASTIC sound near field at mid to low volumes. At really high volumes these do run out of juice but that level is too high at a desk. I don't know how to rate the value of these. These are expensive but the quality of sound is very close to speakers costing much more. I enjoy every minute listening to these. I bought a set of heavy duty tripods and mounted them 8" high off of the desk. The stands allow me to get them closer to ear level and have a swivel mechanism to point them just right. As a side note I would consider these and a subwoofer instead of a soundbar in my bedroom if these are in your budget.
Unti last week I was an old die-hard hard-wired stereo sort of bloke with a large collection of cds and a huge collection of songs on my pc. But no great way to listen to them - especially as my wife has insisted the new kitchen has no cables or wires or aerials.Solution? Richer Sounds - for a great demo of the speakers, and the knowledge on how to get the best from them. I was thinking of bluetoothing them - until Robert in Reigate explained what a NAS is and how streaming wi-fi will produce a great souns.Behold! All is set up in our living room and I knew instantly that this is the best music setup I have ever owned. From Focus to William Byrd to Genesis to Bach, the depth of sound, the clarity, the breadth of musical range is just superb.I was tempted by the next level speakers, but for our size of room, these are ideal (see KEF's own site for details). One last thing - Robert suggested some Denon Home speakers for the new kitchen, and I will be buying them in a couple of weeks! Where from? Silly: there's only Richer Sounds when it comes to listening to music!
A couple family members chipped in and gave me the money for some kef lsx that I had recommended to my father in law and loved them myself. The rumours were circulating that a new version was soon to be released so I held off. Even when they came out I wanted to see if it was worth the extra money over the originals so waited for the reviews etc.I phoned Richer Soumds in Newcastle and arranged a comparison with the Ls50 w2 having already had plenty listening to version 1 and both myself and Eughan were impressed with the improvements and surprised at the closeness in sound quality between the 2 so I kept in budget and plumped for the gold sound wave version. They are superb for my needs, smallish living room at fairly low volume. The soundstage is phenomenal and the detail they draw from my Tidal subscription is like listening to my favourite albums for the 1st time again. Vocals are presented forward with instruments all having their own pocket which makes for such a entertaining listen. I honestly don’t see the need for a sub but the option is always there. The app is well presented and Iv come across no glitches as yet. All I can say is try them, don’t be fooled by the small cabinets because they sound big!I love them and now don’t have that what if I get this amp or that streamer or those cables quandary anymore.Brilliant service and advice. Great speakers great store.
These replaced an AV receiver and stereo speakers for TV duty in a medium-sized study. Along with a third-party sub, these easily fill the room. They sound great with movies and music connected to the TV’s optical connection using an Apple TV 4k as a source. They do not sound much different than the previous AVR/passive speaker combo except for movie dialogue, which I think is better with the LSXII’s. I would consider these too large for desktop speakers and too small for a large den or media room. Just right for a 250sqft room, though. I have not tried streaming from the KEF Connect app. AirPlay works fine. They wake on WiFi and you can set them to wake on a second source. An optical signal will not automatically switch the source. Other reviewers may be able to comment on source-switching with HDMI. Expensive, but I could not find any other set of active speakers with the connection options and good looks of the LSXII. They are not your typical sharp-cornered black boxes. Setup was easy and the app is great for integrating a sub with independent high and low-pass frequencies. They sound fine without the sub…plenty of bass for music though you may want more for movies. The stands are also expensive, but very sturdy with a threaded connection to the speakers. If you don’t mind the price, you will not be disappointed with these speakers in all but the largest spaces.
Excellent sound! I thought my Bose speakers sounded good till I purchased these. There’s something unique about the sound. Super high quality.Theres no doubt about it that these do need a subwoofer. They are marketed as stand alone so I took off a half a star for that. Both the product copy and focus on the beautiful and totally unnecessary port on the back. The cone hardly moves any air at all. You’ll be disappointed if you don’t add a sub. They are not standalone. Expect to spend $3k on your setup. With so many speakers they only sound good when you crank them up. These sound superb at low levels while working at my computer. My first pair had a blown right speaker and a bad Cat 6 port. Not being an audiophile, I invested in these particular KEF LSX 11 active speakers because of their size and wireless concept of listening to music with minimal clutter. The (Soundwave) model is also aesthetically very pleasing and would adorn most rooms. They are a solid, quality construction and were packed really well for delivery.I downloaded the KEF instruction manual prior to purchase and read it several times as they are quite an advancement for me and the information supplied in the box was reviewed as being minimal.Richer Sound Plymouth also arranged a demonstration for me prior to purchase. The KEF Connect App is an important component of the package that you will need. It is the key interface in setting up and controlling the speakers and I found it relatively easy to use and later preferred it to the supplied remote control, which works well but only has certain functions.Setting up is clearly explained if you follow the prompts and only takes a few minutes.I initially connected my turntable to the speakers via Bluetooth and the quality of sound was amazing.Wifi is also a feature that links to various streaming services (Tidal was available on a 90 day free trial) that deliver music seamlessly through the KEF App.KEF recommend using a 5GHz setting on your router if you get any problems with the 2.5Ghz dropping out (as it did several times) but converting my router was a doddle and a quick press of the re-set button on the speakers allowed me to select the 5GHz address and that has solved the issue.Tidal have some MQA audio music files but to take full advantage of them you might want to wire your two KEF speakers together with the supplied lead but the outcome is truly rewarding. The speakers also allow me to listen to my favourite radio station (which I can only get on the internet) using ‘Apple Air Play’ from my phone or iPad via the WiFi function.Out of curiosity, I also purchase a RCA to Aux cable to play my records as an alternative to Bluetooth. The quality of the sound is marginally better but both methods work seamlessly through the KEF App.I am also aware there are connections for the TV, CD Player, Computer and a Subwoofer but I have not yet used these but the evidence so far suggests the sound will be amazing as well. Are they worth the investment? Difficult to answer as we will all have different opinions and expectations. They are a small, powerful, quality speaker, extremely versatile, look fantastic and their output is truly outstanding and I am thankful for the help Richer Sounds Plymouth (Bradley, Josh and Jamie) provided in demonstrating and procuring these for me. I would not want to be without them.
