An ideal downcountry tire - light, fast, solid traction.

I love these tires in the right conditions, which to me are hardpack or rocky terrain. I wouldn't use them in loamy, sandy or really loose conditions, as the knobs are short, and I found I was having them wash out a bit in sand. But, for the rest of the time, I think they are superb. They are very similar to a Rekon Race (they do size up a bit smaller - more like a 2.35, whereas the Rekon Race is a 2.4+), but considerably lighter (I think 100g+ lighter per tire). They are my goto for racing, and basically spring through early summer depending on long it takes until Bend's trails are too sandy (at which point I am only swapping out the front tire, rear seems to be ok). Pictures are from the day before the Cactus Cup race, where I used them for the 40 mile course, and they were superb for that. This course has everything from hardpack, loose over hard, to some quite rocky sections, and they rocked. No flats, fast, great traction. I think people are often over-biked on tires these days, running Minions or similar when you simply don't need that unless you are riding gnarlier terrain or loamy stuff, etc. For a downcountry bike, these are a great option.

All Kenda tyres are seriously underrated

Best xc tire I’ve used.

Riding 2.4 tr Kenda booster pro front and rear. These tires are very fast rolling with more grip than normal for climbing and braking. They have tons of side traction, great rubber compound, lite weight, high volume, and don’t side roll over like other light tires I’ve used. The tire is really well made. This is my new top xc tire choice for front and rear. Kenda made a great new xc tire. These tires will become very well known after the word spreads.

Really fun tires. Supple, fast, confidence on corners. The 2.6 is super fun.

Excellent XC and downcountry for firmer trails
31 January 2024

These tires are really great when used for the right conditions, which to me are XC, racing, downcountry type trails. They are very light. I find they size up just a bit under 2.4, but so do a lot of 2.4's, and the weight is very low compared to nearly any other 2.4. They roll super fast. Most of my use has been on hardpack, and rocky trails, and they are great for that. I do swap out the front for something a bit beefier when we get further into the season and there's a lot of loose and sand (I probably wouldn't pick them for overly loamy conditions either). i.e. if your soil is looser, loamy, or what not where you need a taller knob to dig in more, these aren't it, but for my riding areas, they are superb.

Excellent aggressive cross country tire
29 September 2021

Easy to set up tubeless, excellent performance (most exposure hard and loose over hard , mostly dry) . Great cornering - gives a little slip warning before completely breaking loose. Good grip on roots and rocks. Great braking traction as well as climbing (even in gravel) . In muddy conditions, tires do not shed mud well do to close tread spacing, but I do not think they were designed for wet/muddy.

I would rate it higher

I would rate it higher but for the fact that it’s supposed to be 2.4 inches wide, it’s actually 2.3 inches! Otherwise very good

Will alway ride those tires from now on. They ride fast and still maintain their grip in the corners.
