So it's a good piece of kit, nicely made and good value for money. However, it's not as universal as it makes out, as we've had several for work and it doesn't work seamlessly across any USB-C laptop. The main issue is dual monitor support - it just won't support more than one external display for some laptops like HP ProBooks and MS Surface Laptop Go. Others, like EliteBook and MacBook Pro work with two external displays fine.It must be an issue with the TB4TB3/USB-C connectivity, but as this dock says its backwards-compatible will all these standards, it's just disappointing that it isn't plug and play for everything that the sales blurb says it is.

Struggled to get this to work but fear that's more about me than the product. Supposed to run 2 x 4k, however when running a Surface Pro 7 (only has usb-c 3) it would only drive one 4k monitor.Note if your monitor doesn't have usb-c connections for driving video you will need an adaptor. The use of adaptors might be my problem or my machine not having Thunderbolt 4.

Really cleaned up my desk so I could have both my monitor and external camera plugged into my MacBook Pro while also charging it, all with only one upstream cable to the MacBook. Also using the front-end headphone jack and USB port means audio and charging for my headset are even simpler than before. It is slightly wider and not as deep as I expected though... that's what she said.

Bought the Kensington T4 dock to replace a recently purchased OWC’s new Thunderbolt 4 dock. I couldn’t boot my new Lenovo T4 Yoga when connected to the OWC. I had to un-plug and power up the Yoga and plug it back in once past the boot screen for the Yoga to start working with the OWC. Re-booting was out of the question. OWC’s CS was MIA on this issue. Otherwise, the OWC performed as advertised. On the other hand, the Kensington T4 dock is working exceptionally well when paired with my new Lenovo Yoga T4 LT and my work HP Elitebook T3 LT. No issues when starting the Yoga. These 2 devices were at different price points with the Kensington being the more expensive of the 2. The Kensington has an on-off switch, which, IMO, is a must have feature and one the OWC did not ... MoreBought the Kensington T4 dock to replace a recently purchased OWC’s new Thunderbolt 4 dock. Bought it to hook up all my peripherals in the back of my M1 Mac Mini. It's the only one I looked at that actually enough USBA and USB4-TB3 ports to handle 2 USB3 external drives, printer and 4K monitor through just 1 thin USB4/TB cable from the Mac. Only reason for 4 stars is the price.Just one note of caution: Trying to use a USBC cable I had lying around to connect the monitor fit the connections, but the screen stayed dark. It turned the cable was just for power. I bought a proper Apple TB cable and everything worked perfectly, but for another $40.
Has everything needed to keep my desk clear and all the peripherals connected. It's perfect for laptops and being on the move. As only one cable is needed to connect to and run all the peripherals it's easy to disconnect or connect the laptop anytime. Would recommend for any office, school, or home that needs to quickly connect and disconnect laptops. This is thunderbolt 4 and has more than enough outputs for any number of devices you might need to attach. I currently have 2 monitors, speakers, webcam, wired mouse, wired keyboard, sd card, and able to connect my cellphone and still have space for more space for additional devices. It does require its own power source and can only charge the laptop with a set amount of power, for example, when I play games on my ... MoreHas everything needed to keep my desk clear and all the peripherals connected. I am using the SD5700T to power and support my new M1 Max 64gb MacBook Pro. Powers well. Read and Write speeds on external card readers works great. The front facing ports are nice and easily accessible.CON: - No HDMI or Display port out.- Had to re cycle power after having it for less than a week bc the power drive to my USB 3.0 & C turned off / failed. Luckily the M1 Max has HDMI out and I can signal thru to the monitor. I could foresee other last gen users that don't have Thunderbolt powered external monitors, like myself, running into a similar issue. It causes a little but of a fuzz sound to my external KRK sound monitors which is quite annoying. (this may be the sign of needing to recycle power, but even after re-booting up I still hear a bit of fuzz). I'd never use the front facing audio jack as the M1 Max audio sounds AMAZING as well as I'd typically monitor sound thru a sound interface, but nonetheless, it's a great feature to have. I'd really like a TS4 but it's near impossible to get hands on it. Overall, this has been a good docking station and works as expected with a few minor inconveniences.I expect they'll come out with a newer model more suited for the newer MacBook Pro layouts. It's great to free up my Thunderbolt 4 ports on the side of my laptop as well as getting rid of the dongle. This works well for my studio setup. I just wish it had HDMI / Display Port. Time to upgrade my monitors.Cheers,JB
Needed a new dock to work with my M1 MacBook Pro 16" and this was one that I researched that was compatible with it. So since this was one of the few docks that were available I thought I'd give it a shot. It has not disappointed.Instantly works, enough ports for me to play with, and I love all the thunderbolt ports! Some complained about the computer dock port being on the front of the dock was annoying, honestly, this is how I prefer it.It is pricey but just know it works. No kernel panics. No displays that refuse to connect. I don't even have to think about any setup or quirks.
Took it out of the box, plugged in:2 monitors1 wireless mouse1 wireless keyboard1 webcamconnected to MacBook Pro 13-inch, 2020, MacOC Monterey Version 12.3.1and worked. After 1 hour of using this product I must say I like it. It is not hot, not loud and dumb proof.
Without this product I’d have zero ability to use the two external SSD drives I need for my music studio.I do wish that it even had more power and docking ports than it does. It seems that one can never have enough when it comes to the new line of Apple’s Mac Studios.
