It is a solid, well made jug made of glass. Because of this it is very heavy. No matter!The motor of the Kenwood is not strong enough to blend the ingredients totally (unlike a Vitamix) so the resulting smoothie is far from smooth.Make sure to remove the beaters from the bowl before blending as the motor is strong enough to mangle the whisk caught up in the revolving mechanism - unfortunately.

Fabulous attachment, wanted glass blender because it's so versatile. Being able to crush ice and blend warm liquids. Arrived on time, well packaged. Fully recommend. A must have attachment for your Kenwood!.

Amazing Blender

This blender is so good. I had an older version and it was quite average. This one works so well. Even with frozen fruit/veg and very little added liquid. I can make really thick smoothies with an almost sorbet like consistency. The stick is very handy to push things down to the blades when smoothies are very thick.

Pros: Massive capacity means I can get a whole pan of soup in there in one go. Very efficient liquidiserCons: It is heavy especially when full, but even empty quite heavy to handle, the lid takes some getting used to, quite stiff to remove when full. Both these things are kind of necessary for proper function though.

Pros: It is strongly built. It is easy to assemble.Cons: I find it tough to twist the goblet off the base unit. I've had to resort to 'gripper' assistance which has marked the plastic on the base unit.

I have waited to review this until Ive had it for a while so I could get a feel for its longevity.It blends food more slowly than our previous stand alone blender - so be ready for this and blend for longerIt cleans well in the dishwasher - but you need to pull it completely apart - including removing rubber seal, being very careful with the mixing blade, and sometimes needs some grunt to unscrew with a tea towel for grip - so you need some strength and once clean and dry you need to put it back together firmly, as it will leak with very liquid mixes if you don't.You need to ensure that your bowl on the stand mixer is not storing too many items as the mixer moves here too. Also need to remove when using the stand mixer's other components.The glass is very heavy and we are very conscious of handling so it doesn't break - can be nerve wrackingIt can do hot and cold blending Bigger items (ie large piece of fruit) and a fuller jug need extra help to mix, so stopping, taking the lid off and moving around or increasing fluid content. This may because the blades perhaps are not as big as the other blender we had before this, and perhaps the whole thing is not as powerful as a stand alone blenderOverall we are happy with the product, it is no as good as a stand alone mixer, but we store it on top of the mixer stand, so that is one less item on the bench and with some adjustments, it does the job we need.
