I was pleasantly surprised to see that this left my hair soft and manageable. Also, my freshly colored hair looked better than ever. I've been using this shampoo consistently for several weeks now in conjunction with the Chroma conditioner and the Chroma gloss and I am very happy with it.My hair is soft and shiny. It feels clean and stays clean for several days. It never weighs my hair down. I also believe the overall quality of my hair has significantly improved with using this system.I've seen conflicting reviews on the scent of this product, but I honestly don't know why anybody wouldn't like it unless they just simply do not prefer fragrance in hair products. However, I love a wonderfully scented shampoo and conditioner and I love that it lingers. It's not suffocating by any means. Just a good sweet, clean smell. It's definitely a girly scent and that's ok with me.I've always been nervous ... MoreI've been using this shampoo consistently for several weeks now in conjunction with the Chroma conditioner and the Chroma gloss and I am very happy with it.My hair is soft and shiny. Kérastase is expensive but I can't argue that it's amazing. The old version of the chroma line in the hot pink packages was my absolute favourite for years. I'm not going to be repurchasing this. It's great shampoo, it foams nicely and does a good job of cleaning my hair (shoulder length, dyed darker, fine with waves that tend to make it frizzy when air dried) without stripping it. However.... The scent is strong and I find it unpleasant, it smells old fashioned, kind of medicinal or even vaguely like insect repellent to me. I thought that because I am using a different conditioner the scent would only be while I was washing and I'd get used to it but it hangs around in my hair even after it's dry. Super disappointing as the old version smelt clean, slightly sweet ... MoreKérastase is expensive but I can't argue that it's amazing. I received this product free in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to try this product. The packaging looked nice, I heard good things about the brand and seemed like a quality product. I was not impressed after initial use... so I tried a couple more times and my first impression did not change. Here's what I thought. Packaging, although not a deal breaker, did not work well in the shower. The lid is not connected to the bottle so it's another thing to hold or find a place to set down so you can use both hands. I prefer a pump or just something attached and easy to use. Next, the recommended amount of product to use was far from enough. I tried using more in the second and third trials. Mostly what dissatisfied me was that this product did not detaingle ... MoreI received this product free in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to try this product. Mostly what dissatisfied me was that this product did not detaingle my hair. It did not lather well. I found I had to rinse and repeat to get any lather at all. This is important as I have very long, thick yet fine hair. Also, I felt that my hair was weighed down and limp after drying. The only thing I was really impressed with was the smell. It has a pleasant fruity scent. I cannot recommend to someone with my hair type and will not purchase in the future.
I was excited to get to try this shampoo line by Kerastase Paris. I've never tried any of their hair products and so I was excited to get to try this Chroma Absolu line. This shampoo smells sooooo good and was easy to apply to my hair. A little goes a long way. My hair felt clean and I didn't find that it stripped away any of the color I have in my hair. I love that the ingredients do not contain sulfates which I have been trying to stay away from with hair care products. I think that the packaging is very sleek and I loved having these displayed on the shelf in my shower. The only downside is that the products are definitely a little pricey, but they work well. Overall I would definitely recommend purchasing this haircare line and will likely be repurchasing.
Man this is such a great shampoo and I’m mad because it’s so expensive. So I have color treated hair (rich dark brown) and also microbeaded extensions. This has been the best shampoo to treat my EXTREMELY oily scalp without stripping my color. This is also really good at NOT drying out my extensions and turning them HIDEOUS (not claimed to be for extensions but just a heads up that it was safe on mine). Now it has a very strong floral scent that I can smell even to the next day. It doesn’t bother me because o actually enjoy it.. but for you that are sensitive to smells, heads up.I also pair this with K18 detox shampoo (once a week) and man I can go till about 3 days without washing again which for MY OILY AF scalp is a miracle. Now the only reason I don’t have it ... MoreMan this is such a great shampoo and I’m mad because it’s so expensive. It’s such a small bottle for the price and I’m already like 1/4 down the bottle for having it about a month.I say it’s worth a try. It left my hair so freaking shiny WITH NO OILY SCALP for a few days and didn’t dry or strip my color/extensions.

So the products themselves are awesome...no doubt. I do, however, have 3 main complaints/wishes: 1) I wish the packaging was a bit better/easier to use in the shower. The shampoo, hair mask and hair gloss all have caps that twist on and off...just not ideal for the shower. I want to keep water from possibly going into those bottles (likely not the hair gloss since it's so small), so it's just not ideal to have caps you have to take off and remove, set aside, squeeze the contents out, leave the cap off until you've applied (possibly rinsed) and then replace the caps...because you know...you only have likely two hands. And...I dropped that darn tiny cap from the hair gloss, and it nearly went down my drain. It did in fact...thankfully I guess, get caught in my shower ... MoreSo the products themselves are awesome...no doubt. That's just a dumb cap-size. 2) My second complaint is the with the plastic gloves for the hair mask. You only get two sets, and really...plastic in the shower with already wet hands - who thought that would be a good idea? Also...how often do I use the hair mask - every shower? Am I supposed to strategically re-use those thin, plastic gloves every time? (I'm shaking my head in sadness and disbelief.) 3) Finally...why can't I select the Bain Riche Chroma Respect shampoo in my auto-fill Chroma Absolu Dark Color Correction Hair Care Set order? I have thicker hair, so your website says I need that shampoo and not the Bain Chroma Respect that the set default comes with. That's not cool! I shouldn't have to (and am not going to) order that shampoo separately/in addition to the auto-fill set. These are expensive, well-made products. I just wish Kerastase would put more thought into the packaging (including the plastic gloves) and the order process of the hair care sets so one (I) could swap out the shampoo that's appropriate for my hair.
I got the trial size first for this shampoo to try it out as I at first wasn’t completely convinced it would work for me. Glad I did because I got to try it out. My initial thoughts; I 100% hated the smell of it, smells like burned beans. BUT I kept using it because I really liked how my hair felt, soft and bouncy. And I have extremely thin hair very processed from hair coloring so it’s very dry. Olaplex, fable and mane and others did not leave my hair feeling like this so I tried my best to work with the smell. It didn’t leave an oily residue.A few washes in and I was convinced I wanted the full size bottle. So yes that’s the only con I can find after trying this shampoo. That’s the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
