I was so thrilled to try this beautiful hair oil from Kerastase! It's a gorgeous bottle, and I have heard wonderful things about the brand for years. This is simply the most luxe hair oil I've ever tried. Every detail has been delivered so thoughtfully and contributes to the overall elevated experience. First, the packaging is sustainable, and stunning–it's almost a shame to hide this in a cabinet. With a simple twist, the inner component can be removed and replaced with a refill, while the weighty, outer (glass) component is the keeper. I appreciate that the oil is dispensed with an easy-to-control pump, especially as I use a tiny amount on my fine, thin hair. There's a subtle scent to this that's difficult to describe beyond 'elegant and rich', it just adds something special to the overall indulgent experience. I spread a tiny amount between my palms and then ran them over my ends before blowdrying as a smoothing heat protector, and 2) once my hair was dry and styled, I used it in the same way to tamp down flyaways on top of my head and give the ends of my hair added shine and smoothness. This is the finishing touch I've been missing in my routine. Using volumizing products combined with heat styling can often leave me with some unwanted frizz and dryness, especially at the ends of my below-shoulder-length hair. This oil makes my hair look healthy and smooth without weighing it down. I can only imagine that for someone with thicker, more frizz-prone hair this would also be a game-changing product. The only downside is the price but given how little I use I could easily justify a repurchase if I ever run out!

I also tend to lean towards a more summery/fresh scent, and this product was definitely giving a deeper/rich smell.Limited Frizz Control – Someone with hair not as frizz-prone or dry as mine could probably get away with the level of frizz control this product gives. However, I would honestly use this product as more of a finishing touch to add shine to my hair versus anything else.

There's surprisingly little instructions on the packaging itself but I used this oil (with excellent results!) in two ways. 1) On wet hair. I spread a tiny amount between my palms and then ran them over my ends before blowdrying as a smoothing heat protector, and 2) once my hair was dry and styled, I used it in the same way to tamp down flyaways on top of my head and give the ends of my hair added shine and smoothness. This is the finishing touch I've been missing in my routine. Using volumizing products combined with heat styling can often leave me with some unwanted frizz and dryness, especially at the ends of my below-shoulder-length hair. This oil makes my hair look healthy and smooth without weighing it down. A definite repurchase if I ever run out!

Why do you companies keep ruining best sellers? If you want to sell a different formula a new oil with the new bottle different name don’t continue to try and pass this off as Elixir Ultime when it’s clearly NOT, it’s not even close. I will not be purchasing this new oil because my loves the original. Now I’m on the hunt for a new product line. You’re products were actually the best on the market, why reformulate, why?The only people who might like this new oil are the ones who’ve never tried the original, so fishing or a few new customers while losing your loyal long time clients, when you could have easily left this product alone an still gotten more customers. I find my hair to be wavy and frizzy if left to dry naturally, if blow dried it goes unruly frizzy and if styled it can be flat, and frizzy! I wanted a hair oil that was light, softening but would help tame this frizz without weighting it down or making it greasy by the next day. This is simply the product I needed. It acts wonderful as a pre shampoo ‘mask’ on the ends of hair before hair wash day, a detangling softener after washing on damp hair, would be great for wet styling to ensure softness and frizzy hair, but my favourite way to use it is post blow dry / on dry hair, and it just zaps the frizz out with no weight or greasiness, and leaving a lovely musky perfume like scent that’s ... I will DEFFO be splurging a treat product like this on myself and would be keen to try more products across their hair ranges to really get a feel for the brand and quality of products.
