Keychron Q1 He QMK Wireless Custom Keyboard Fully Assembled Knob / Shell White / Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula Switch

Honestly the most satisfying keyboard I've ever used! The build quality is exceptional, setup a breeze and the customisation from the launcher combined with the Hall effect key press is game changing. I'm addicted to the "thonk" and now it's the only keyboard I ever want to use.

A great board for a beginner and beyond..

Out the gate, this has some weight to it for sure! I like how that makes it feel premium without the huge price tag. The features this are great for someone just getting into the hobby like myself. I feel this can grow with me as my skill set grows. The extra foam included that you don’t necessarily get in other DIYs is great! With that being said if you just throw switches and caps on, I do think you will be missing out on this boards full potential. A lot of early YT reviewers were very into the gasket design and how much flex the board had, but hated how pingy and hollow the board was. To remedy, the company included an extra foam layer in the case. While this seemed to have fix that issue, the extra layer causes some stiffness and you lose that good flex. ... MoreOut the gate, this has some weight to it for sure! Personally, I did the tempest mod on-top of the tape-break mod. You get to lose that extra foam layer, keep that desired flex, and still eliminate that harsh ping. I look forward to exploring the hobby more with this by my side and highly recommend for someone new to the hobby as well(Also, Gateron Black Ink V2s lubed in this sound GREATTT. Re-lube the stabs too.)

Fantastic Keyboard!

This keyboard is amazing. I ended up deciding on glorious panda switches due to the tactile feel and some nice pudding PBT caps. Slightly modded to get rid of the hollow sound. Pre-mod 8/10, post-mod 11/10!!

Great only after modding

The Q1 v1 has a LOT of metallic case ping where the top and bottom case resonate together with every press. Unless you like typing on a metal pole, I recommend modding. The sound is much more customizable/decent when you mod. Overall the board is quieter than my other board I have, which is great for use with tactiles.

Outstanding Keyboard

This keyboard has met my expectations.. No issues with it at all and it works flawlessly. There is no issue workmanship.. Absolutely my facorit keyboard. I use this at work and at home… Waiting to find a travel case… Thank you for the quick processing and shipment of this keyboard. It is beyond all my expectations..

Perfect custom board!

This was my first real attempt at modding a custom keyboard. I chose the Q1 because of the price, the quality and the VAST amount of info concerning mods for this board. There is so much YouTube content about modding the Q1 it's crazy. I used GoPolar Vermilion Bird switches and Drop Dolch doubleshot keycaps(for now).This s a great board for first time builders and experienced builders!

Just took this out of the box and WOW, is it ever smooth. I generally gravitate towards brown switches because they give good feedback but are still usable in an office setting without getting looks. With that said, these purple switches are a game-changer. After using HE switches, I don’t think I could go back.For setup, it comes with step-by-step instructions on how to connect, change the RGB color, and different hot keys. I have a MacBook and the easy toggle between Mac/PC is so convenient. Seamless out of box experience.I haven’t played around with the software yet, and honestly I don’t think I will even need to. I know that this would be a huge addition for gaming, but I think it’s perfect in its stock setup for everyday use. This keyboard is perfect for my workspace! The key texture and adjustable sensitivity allows me to type 10x faster than before. I also love the ability to change the background lighting at the press of a button.
