I bought the dc dc charger and 120 amp. AGM low profile battery, and the battery temperature sensor ring terminal broke off. I've seen comments on your website where this has happened before. How can this (lack of battery temp sensing) be remedied. If i operate my system without this will my charger or battery be at risk of failure. If there is a replacement sensor i can connect to the broken wire please send one asap. Thank you Greg.

Took a while to get things set up, but out now for a week and have some run time with the charger when being used with a custom battery box.Pros:- Plug and play (after you get some Anderson plugs from Amazon- super easy to configure- easy to mountCons:- make sure you verify the voltage for your solar panels fit within the limitations of the charger or it will not charge via solar.- 20amp limit takes a while to charge up a 100ah batt when fully drainedOverall super happy with the charger and the rest of the items I ordered. Fit exactly what I needed for my custom battery box to sit in the open bed of my truck and feed power to hubs. I would get everything again if I ever needed to make another custom batt box.

I have two of these units and both are giving problems. One unit wont change battery type and the other is fully corroded on the main circuit board from water ingress. One unit is mounted in the front of my car under the bonnet and the other is under cover in my camper trailer. I do not recommend these units if they may be exposed to any water. They are definitely not IP67.

I have two of these units that are appox 3 years old. One mounted in the car and the other in a camper trailer. Both are under cover. One has failed completely and the other unit doesn't change battery type. After dismantling the control screen it was found water had entered onto the circuit board. These are definitely not IP67 rated. I do not recommend these chargers if mounted anywhere near any moisture.

I got this unit about a year ago, and used it for aux battery charging in my ute. Worked ok for some time although I have some serious doubts about the MPPT controller - seems very inefficient, constantly cycling voltage up and down. Then had a sudden unexpected flat battery in the ute (only one year old), but couldn't clearly identify the issue. Recently, had another situation where the starter battery was TOTALLY flat a day after driving for 3h. Checked it all out (and have all evidence), and found the DCDC charger still fully active trying to charge the aux battery even though the starter battery was down to 5V!!!When hooking up an external battery charger, the voltage only went up to 9V since this stupid charger was still drawing all it could to charge the aux ... Once I disconnected the DCDC charger, the starter battery came up again eventually on the external charger, but it's now wrecked.I have now returned the unit and eventually got a (partial) refund, but obviously not even enough to pay for a new car battery, and I still need to get another DCDC charger...So my advice is, buy a quality unit from Redarc or Enerdrive (both are actually cheaper!) and don't risk your car battery with this dodgy unit!
I have 2 of these chargers for about 3 years. One mounted in my car and the other on a camper trailer. Both units now faulty. Water has penetrated into the front control panel and corroded the circuit board. Im thinking the second unit is the same as I cant change the type of battery. Both were mounted under cover. I would definitely say they are not IP67. I would not recommend this charger. I will put a video on YouTube for reference of what i have found. Hope this helps.
I am new to 12v and this was the (almost) perfect solution. It was so easy to install and is charging from the alternator exactly as it should. I plugged my 200W solar blanket and got an error. I never thought a basic solar blanket would give out too much voltage but it does. This means I have to to bypass the DCDC and use my blanket with a separate MPPT into the battery. I will get a smaller solar blanket in time but I was a little surprised. Kinda my own fault for not reading/understanding fully
I own a 2011 Toyota Hilux SR5. After purchasing the vehicle I noticed that the aux battery was not charging to 100%. After investigating I noticed it was set up using a Redarc VSR. As I have a temperature compensating alternator this solution won't charge the battery to 100% . After researching dcdc chargers I decided to go with KickAss. It ticks all the boxes. Good quality, pre-wired for ease of installation, awesome features, great competitive price and great feedback by people using the product. After using the dcdc charger for the last few weeks I couldn't be happier. It was easy to install, everything works as it should and outstanding support from the KickAss team. If youre after a dcdc charger grab one of these!
Hi Guys, I have just tested he kickass slim line dual battery system, camping over a 4 day long weekend. I couldn’t be happier with this System!!
