Great bit of kit, I also bought the 40 Amp MPPT solar controller. Together they help to keep 2 paralleled 100 Ah AGM Deep Cycle batteries at 100% in very quick time. I have a lot of Kick Ass products, none have ever let me down. I still have the older type 150 W folding solar panels, still in perfect condition, they also boost the batteries through the 40 Amp MPPT Controller, or the built in MPPT in my original Kick Ass battery box with the built on Projecta IDC 25 DC-DC charger. Power has never been a problem.

I recently purchased the 300w slim line kickass solar panels. After a lot of consideration into either spending the money on quality, or just buying some cheap solar blanket, i bit the bullet and bought quality. After spending the back end of the week and weekend camping with the family I am extremely impressed. I thought my batteries were on the way out but turns out, they just needed better charging through the day. The weather conditions were overcast the whole time yet still the batteries filled my batteries in next to no time.On top of this, the ease of portability and light weight meant that I (or the Mrs) could move them with ease.So happy with my purchase.

Bought these to replace a 300w solar blanket from another seller. The blanket couldn't be left in the rain and the material wasn't nearly as durable as it should be. I first tested them by leaving them out in the garden powering my battery box with a fridge, some lights and a charger and they kept everything charged over a week worth heaps of rain. Then took them camping for four nights as my only charge source and they worked really well. Well constructed, and easy to move. A bit heaver than I was expecting but they feel sturdy enough. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Product
17 March 2023

I just read a review which was identical to my situation. Purchased a 200w blanket from a well known company for a double island trip. The blanket failed to produce sufficient power to recharge my battery even on bright sunny days. Spend 4 days worrying and checking camper batteries to ensure I didn't run them dry, to the point I had to run my vehicle to keep the charge up. I decided I never wanted to have a trip spoilt like that again and purchased a 300w kickass panel which I used last weekend. 3 overcast days and the panels still easily produced sufficient power to recharge my battery. What a contrast between the two weekends. I was care free without having to worry about power issues. Initially I thought I should have purchased the 200w as my brother has one and ... MoreI just read a review which was identical to my situation. Initially I thought I should have purchased the 200w as my brother has one and it is smaller and lighter than the 300 but after last weekend I am so glad with the 300. They have been nicknamed 'The Big Girl.' When fellow campers in the group had panels that couldn't deal with the overcast days all you could hear was 'can I borrow the big girl' haha. Can't recommend these panels enough.

Good, until it fails

This panel worked well for a couple of years. Then all of a sudden, it stopped working. I bought it when the panels cost $1,250 each (before the tech became cheaper), and I bought three of them. The panel was used a total of 20-25 times, and was always stored inside when not used. I expected the company to back their product better, but instead I was told "its out of warranty, and given a 15% discount voucher". We buying premium products (and several of them), I expected a lot more. I am sure other premium brands would stand behind their products better.

Panels are great. Wiring is pretty good. Instructions are good. Canvas bag is pretty good and has a pocket large enough to carry extensions etc. Be nice if the canvas was higher quality / thicker though. Can't see it lasting too long. The fold out legs / stands are terrible. Very flimsy weak plastic assemblies held in with rivets that don't hold all that well and put a lot of stress on the alloy frame, which itself isn't very strong. My panels arrived with a bent piece on the alloy frame and one set of legs bouncing around in the box. I drilled out the old rivets and rivetted them legs back on prior to the trip but they ended up falling off again because the alloy had already weakened. I would have sent them back but was too close to a camping trip so probably too ... MorePanels are great. Wiring is pretty good. Instructions are good. I would have sent them back but was too close to a camping trip so probably too late now as unit is used. I plan to upgrade the fold out legs if I can but shouldn't have to really. I understand the unit is built for light weight but first and foremost camp gear needs to be rugged.

Poorly designed
18 April 2022

The design, strength and quality of fittings on the 300W panels is questionable.1. The section of frame with the carry handle came away from the panel when I first picked it up. Product support suggested I glue the frame on to the panel which has worked so far.2. One of the support stands has broken off. The plastic connection points to the panel are weak.3. The storage bag is poor quality and stitching is coming apart after only a few uses.4. Magnets holding the panels together when folded come apart. Not a big deal.Disappointing for mid ranged product marketed as "outback proof".The design may be more suited and longer lasting for the lighter 200W panels.

Support legs defective
13 August 2023

On first use two of the support legs fell off in my hand. I am very careful with my gear but it didn't matter. They are pop riveted on and just pulled out. I am currently on a trip and will have to find a hardware shop to rectify this issue.I have 2 pieces of firewood supporting the subject panels. Otherwise the panels are great.

Worry-free off grid camping
12 October 2022

Wow what a difference. I originally purchased a 200w folding blanket from a big name budget supplier a couple of years back. Despite only using modest power, the blanket struggled to charge the batteries on my camper even in full sun. I had so much power anxiety every day trying to figure out how to get enough juice into the batteries each day. I thought I was doing something wrong. When I finally tested it, it was only cranking out about 35W in full sun… no wonder 🙄After reading positive reviews I splashed out on the 300 w kick ass panel. I could camp off grid forever without any worry. That’s how it should be.

Worth the $$
24 January 2023

Just had my first week with this panel while free camping. Works extremely well, even in overcast conditions. I originally got stung buying a “cheap and nasty”, so called 350w soft fold up panel set on EBay, it was next to useless. If you rely on solar generation do yourself a favor and invest in the Kickass 300w setup. Even better if paired with one of their 8g, 10mtr Anderson extension cable.
