The whole unit is great and good quality.Only issue I have is the cigarette jacks are too wide.My 12v lights and fridge don't get a good connection.It still works but they fall out especially when in transit.I have wrapped tape around the connections to thicken them to get a better fit but other than that its great.

Full disclosure I’m new to 4WDing and 12v setups so wanted a fairly simple power supply to run a fridge, some lights and have some power options for expandability later on. The KickAss mini power box does the job perfectly! After installing a dual battery system from KickAss I had already run cabling through to the tub of my Ute to run my fridge. Simply plug this baby in and instantly I’ve got more than enough power options to run pretty much anything I can throw at it. Don’t do what I did and procrastinate about whether I needed it or not, only to find out it had sold out… As soon as pre-order was available for the next shipment I put my order in and received it earlier than expected. So firstly, it is a useful power box that offers enough connections for devices, fits nicely in the back of a canopy Ute.The issues that I have with this thing tho are as follows:- The power meter is not accurate and is 0.02v out of accuracy. While it doesn't sound like much, when you are monitoring every drop of power it is quite crucial this is accurate. Tested against 2 other meters I have in my car and an accurate multi-meter this measures low consistently.- Battery "level" indication is no where close to how I would have it display on the meter. Seems when it reads 12.4v this is about 60% flat battery according to the LED battery level of the meter. I had been considering how to arrange power to the cab of my Ute using power from the secondary battery in the canopy.The mini power box provided a simple solution. I just mounted the mini power box on the internal rear wall of the Ute and then just extended the power supply into the canopy to the second battery.Now I have a power supply for the refrigerator if it’s in the back and charging a heap of gadgets separate to the crank battery.
I have had the Kickass 12v mini powerbox for a while now. I am so impressed by it's versatility and looks I use it on my coffee table in the lounge room. I have it connected by 2 solar panel extension leads to a battery power bank that is connected to a portable solar panel on my deck. The gauge on the kickass mini powerbox is so handy as it gives me at a glance state of charge reading of the battery without getting off the couch. I mainly charge usb devices like phones, tablets , kickass fan batteries and other accessories. If you a thinking of buying one, go on treat yourself to one!
Absolutely love this unit. Have it run to the back of my tub to power a fridge and camp lighting. Small compact unit that takes up almost no space and is so versatile. The only thing that would make it perfect, is if you could run the power cable out either side of the unit. But i made it work for my setup. Paired this with the 120ah dual battery setup and is the perfect simple setup that i needed.
An excellent product with a wide range of outlets of just about every common variety. Greast use of Anderson-like connectors. Handy bits like the Volt meter, the simple and unobtrusive light [LED ] . Good use of teltale LEDS. Well built and I hope waterproof as it is installed on my boat.
Terrific piece of kit! This makes a 12V power system as easy simply plugging and Anderson connector to a battery, and you are instantly connected to a multiple power source for 12V and USB chargers, 2 x Anderson outputs and even a light.No messing about with building an wiring up a system, and best of all, it is fully portable. I love this thing. Kickass has spotted what people want and made it simply.
This power box has a lot of features squeezed into a small package. A couple of quirks to watch out for though. The Anderson plugs on the bottom are labeled in/out but if you input voltage into one of them you will not be over current protected using the other bottom Anderson plug as an outlet. You are only over current protected if you use the rear entry cable to supply voltage. Also if you mount the box and need to access the internals you cant take the lid off without unmounting the whole box. I had to modify the box to be able to remove lid easily. The on/off and light switches are also not great. Other than that it works as advertised.
I use this connected to a Lithium battery when I'm doing a bit of Astrophotography. I can put it on a small table and power a laptop with a 12 adapter and supply 12V and 5V to other devices with the very ample set of 12 sockets and USB connectors. Being able to with off the meter and light is great to keep down high. So good I have purchased a second unit for my slide-on camper for permanent installation.
