Kiehl's - Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum - 30ml

I have been using this serum for about three weeks since receiving it in a Voxbox. I think it is a really solid product that will work for almost any skin type. I have combo/oily skin with some uneven skin-tone on my cheeks. I am also an RN on a COVID19 inpatient hospital unit; I mention this because of the fact that I have now been wearing masks for my 12 hour shifts which has caused acne around my chin, nose, and mouth as well as redness and irritation. The serum boasts that it is meant for "stressed skin" so I certainly feel I have put it to the full test. The serum is very light and absorbs quickly into the skin, it feels hydrating and refreshing. It has a very herbal/natural smell that some may find off-putting but it is not incredibly strong and it doesn't hang around after the product sinks in the skin. After application my skin feels soothed. The hyaluronic acid works wonders making my under-eyes and cheeks appear more hydrated almost immediately. Over the course of my time using the serum, I have definitely noticed that the skin-tone on my cheeks has evened out a bit. Regarding the mask-related acne, I have made sure to apply an ample amount of product to my chin and mouth area twice daily to prevent the skin from becoming dry and peely (after using salycilic acid on the breakouts). I noticed in the matter of about 4 days that my chin was clearing and the skin looked much less inflamed than before. Ultimately, I'd say the only downside to this product is the pricetag, however good skincare usually comes with a cost. If you are very sensitive to herbal smells maybe skip this one, but like I said--it's rather light and does not stick around. My "stressed skin" certainly reaped benefits from the three weeks I've incorporated this serum in my routine; the Kiehl's Vital Strengthening Super Serum is light, moisturizing, sensitive-skin friendly, and ultimately gets a stamp of approval from me!

Another great product to add to my routine

I decided, in any event, to give it a try, knowing that Kiehls would have accepted the return if indeed the product really did have a bad smell. I am going on 76 next month and when I tell that to people, there reaction is always, "you have to be kidding, you look like you are in your 60's." Is that the products, genetics, nutrition, general health. I am sure it is the combination of all of those things, but I have also recommended the products I use to many other younger women who have thanked me profusely and raved about the improvement in their skin. This serum, I give 5 stars to because it warrants it.

Beware!

I bought this a few months ago and thought it was really doing wonders but I'm sad to say it has dried my skin to the max and made it so sensitive! Having a closer look at the ingredients, I believe it is the denatured alcohol and witch hazel that are likely responsible. It's such a shame because it isn't cheap and the fact I got recommended it to help with hydration! very disappointed. The annoying thing now is that it seems to "help" the dryness when I apply it but after a while/when I try and not use it, you see what your skin is really like.

Great Value, it works!

Love this. I have switched to Kiehl's products exclusively since trying out this product, my skin is now never dry or blotchy, it is clean, soft, youthful looking and deeply nourished and moisturized. Though I am 65, I have been told many times that I look 50 since using and wrinkles are markedly diminished . The product range gives plenty of variety for a host of skin conditions and issues. I am just delighted with Kiehl's quality - the best beauty investment I have ever made.

I'll never doubt again

I don't remember how I happened to purchase my first bottle. Once I finished it I didn't reorder - I wasn't sure it was doing anything. After three weeks I noticed my skin was duller and seemed ever so slightly more saggy. I even had a couple of small blemishes (probably unrelated but not great). Could it be? I ordered a second bottle, and after using it for two weeks, my skin is back to looking glowy and a little more supple. The effect is subtle, but I noticed it. And that's all we're really looking for, right? This is staying in my regimen from now on. The formula is slippery and thin, so one pump will cover your entire face. Move quickly to cover evenly, and of course follow with moisturizer.

Makes you glow if you've been having dull skin!

Got this initially as a sample,used it before bed as the only serum and my regular gel moisturiser on my oily combination skin that has been looking dull,and with small bumps due to mask wear. Woke up with glowy smooth skin!I had poor sleep for the past few days and this surely made me look fresh! Got a bottle of it now,I only see results when I use it before bed like I tried initially. Skin in my early thirties for reference.

My favorite serum!

My go to serum! I have used this for two years and it is by far my favorite serum. It is lightweight and dries fast. I can definitely tell a difference if I slack on my skincare routine for a few days. I’ve started keeping a bottle by my bed with makeup wipes in case I get really lazy and even that helps, but I get the best results when I do a proper face wash, toner, this serum and moisturizer. I have used 4 full bottles of it and don’t plan to stop buying anytime soon!It helps me with: fine lines, the skin around my eyebrows, pore size reduction, overall evenness.

Simply beautiful

I have been using this for over a week now. I use it in the morning under my moisturiser, before applying makeup. I also use it at night before my moisturiser. I’m starting to notice my skin looks more refreshed & brighter. It’s more moisturised too but without any stickiness. I love this product so much I’ve purchased more products from Kiehls. Thank you Mecca for stocking this brand & for your great service.

Wanted to love it

It is fabulous as an on the spot treatment for minimizing the look of my minor forehead lines. I only used a small amount of product and I was very impressed that after about 5 minutes, my forehead lines were pretty much gone but as I used it consistently for 3+ weeks, I came to notice that it didn't do anything to reduce the appearance of my fine lines over time. By the end of the day, my lines were back in full force. Additionally, it caused me to break out. BAD. Within two weeks, I started getting more and more bumps all over my face. Weird Smell but NOT Sticky! V. Hydrating

My headline says it all. I got the Super Serum trial size- 4 mL with one of my previous purchases. I've been using this serum for a week now since my regular Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum has run out.Pros:1. Not sticky! I can't stand my face feeling tacky. (a reason why I usually use the sulwhasoo serum)2. Hydrating - I use it right after my showers at night while my face is still damp but patted dry. It absorbs unlike the Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I purchased late last year that pills on my face3. I like the way it feels on my face - this point basically touches on both pts 1 and 2. Yes the second ingredient is Dimethicone which is a type of silicon which makes the formula feel good against the skin and helps to seal in the moisture onto the ... MoreMy headline says it all. Contains essential oils (e.g., Flower oil, Lavendar Oil, Rosemary Leaf Oil) - TBH i like fragrance with my skincare products but I put this here for those whose skin is sensitive and would not benefit from it.Overall: Quite hydrating and I'm surprised at how nice it feels against my skin.
