What attracted me to this product was that it could be sprayed straight on to bare metal and even metal with some very light rust eg, what might be in minor pitting escaping a sand on otherwise clean surfaces.Despite "turpsing" down the surface on a nice warm day, in a coastal area, some speckled rust has formed on top of the enamel. I would have chosen a lot cheaper product for top coat if I still had to do rust convert, prime then topcoat.Better results would be possible, no doubt, on a project that is kept out of the elements in very stable conditions until the compound cures a bit but my project didn't have that luxury.It didn't work for me in my circumstances 100% but it's probably not bad overall, hence the average rating.... I have painted 3 cars with this stuff. Cover well and no need for an undercoat.If your a DIY person and know how to prep and paint and want your car looking good again. THIS IS THE STUFF. all colours dry at different speeds and I recommend spraying out side in good weather but storing inside the garage for at least 8hrs and do not wash for 4 weeks and avoid things like wd40, degreaser, for at least 2 months. The paint take a very long time to cure before them products don't damage the paint. But hay just spray and protect for 3 months and you will have a paint job that will last years. Do take your time as it's very slow drying paint. coat and leave 4 hrs another coat and leave 8hrs. job done. Always spray before use as well. some cans splatter one first use.... Show more

Waste of time effort and money!

Had high expectations after following instructions carefully including metal surface preparation and use of undercoats etc. But full gloss epoxy did not apply evenly and resulted in some areas of paint crimping or puddling as if there was water spots on the surface. Light sanded and repeated with same outcome. Persisted and decided that even with rough patches I'd place decals and go with it. Then applied Wattle's recommended clearcoat and what a disaster. As per second two pics you can see indentations where the paint simply refused to cover or adhere. I have now completely stripped the parts and started again with another product. Expensive waste of time and effort.... Show more
