The Kinetic Sand Sandwhirlz kit is well worth the smiles and hours of entertainment! I decided to test it out with my four year old son! Kinetic sand is sort of doughy but with a sand texture and less mess when it comes to clean up as it all sticks together. Our family is slightly familiar with kinetic sand as we purchased a bag of the plain sand kind a few months ago. This kit comes with loads of tools and three baggies of sand! It has a ton of diverse options for play whether you follow the directions and make a exploding oozing sand whirl or just use the tools to stamp and cut. My son was quite busy having loads of fun! We played ice cream parlor and ooze maker with this kit as well as just crushing sand piles. We loved the colored sand and were pleasantly surprised to notice the texture is a little different than the regular plain kinetic sand; it feels softer and has a sort of powdery texture. It still has the easy cleanup but I notice it doesn’t clump as large as the plain sand. It also came with an awesome carry case! It fits everything perfectly inside and the outside snaps are easy for small fingers to open and close. My only complaint is that the shape shifters for the whirls are a little flimsy. One of our caps actually arrived a little broken and doesn’t fit properly to the extruders. I also recommend helping smaller children put the caps on and off as they can break easily.Overall this would be a great gift for kids old or young! It has given our household lots of laughter when the whirls ooze as well as creative time. Please note, I received the Kinetic Sand Sandwhirlz kit for free through familyrated.

Kinetic Sand Sandwhirlz Playset is the perfect sand playset for all ages to play! The sand in this set is very pigmented in color and looks great when playing. Besides the little ones, I love playing with this kinetic sand because it feels great and it holds together very well. It stays moist all the time and has never dried out in between playing with it. It really is an easy cleanup as well. Just take a handful and dab it over the table to pick up any that is left and clean up is done. It comes with all the tools needed to use your imagination for hours. I would highly recommend the Kinetic Sand Sandwhirlz Playset for all ages and hours of fun!

We received the Kinetic Sand, Sandwhirlz playset in exchange for reviews. The playset comes with 4 colors of sand, and lots of extra items to create the Whirlz. The container is a good size, and has tabs that lock in place to keep all items in the kit. We had not played with Kinetic sand before, so it was a great experience. We were able to keep all the sand separate for some time, and then of course we mixed colors to make new colors. My granddaughter is over 2 1/2 and she loved it. I realize its rated for over 3, but I always sit with her while playing, so i had no worries. She especially loved just squishing with hands, tools, and the plunger provided. We have played with it each day, as it is now top of the toy/activity list. We are so thrilled with the Kinetic Sand Sandwhirlz playset! My 3 kids and I are so fascinated with texture and have tried to replicate it many times without any success. We have also tried other brands, but nothing ever compare to the original. The texture is very soothing to play for hours. The packaging of this playset is very appealing. It is made of very sturdy plastic and has several mini compartments to hold different colors of sand. Comes in 3 colors and 6 shape shifter. My kids has so much fun mixing the colors and are mesmerized by the sand oozing out of the shifters. They also love how easy and smooth to crush the sand from a shape and I LOVE how it doesn't splatter everywhere so quickly. Very easy to clean up because of the texture. Anticlimactic

The best way to describe this kinetic sand set is pretty anticlimactic. It would probably be better if the shape cut out circle filter pieces that are supposed to create the cool effect would twist onto the tube to secure it so that it doesn't pop off when you push the sand through the tube. The little shape piece just barely snaps onto the tube and you have to hold it down really securely to even try to get it to stay on when you're pushing the sand out with the plunger to make the cool effect. Not impressed by this set. All you are really paying for is the sand...the kit pieces are very cheaply made.

Awesome, really easy to clean up too.

My kids absolutely love playing with this ... as do I ahem ... it comes with loads of accessories so you can squeeze it through different tubes to make funky rainbow flowers. And you can pack it all back into the case when done. You can mix the colours to make different colours... yes eventually it all turns an odd brown colour as it all gets mixed together but it’s still fun! It doesn’t dry out like play doh and any mess brushes / vacuums up really easily, with no staining or anything. You can shape it, chop it up, roll it out, etc.It also feels really cool in your hands.Full marks for this one, brilliant stuff!

Clean, fun play for toddlers

My toddler enjoys this quite a bit and it keeps her entertained for awhile. I love that the sand doesn’t dry out. I thought the set was a great price but for a little more I would have liked to see a better case that keeps the sand from spilling all over the place. Also, it should come with 2 extruders and 2 puck/stampers in different shapes. I did not receive the burst shaped stamper rather a 2nd cloud shaped stamper so the burst extruder can not be used because it doesn’t fit with the cloud shaped stamper. Per the directions, I should have received 2 different shaped stampers.

Delivered broken

The packaging could have been better. It came in a bubble mailer and both handles were broke off. It sucks because it was supposed to be a Christmas present for my daughter but how can a four year old carry this case if it’s broken. If this is how it’s always going to be shipped I won’t be buying it again.

Great pieces to add to your kinetic collection

This kinetic sand kit comes with everything you see on the box. It also has a handy carrying case so you can keep all the products together once you're finished playing. This kit has blue, red, and yellow sand which your child can play with the colors individually, or use the pieces to mix and make somewhat of a "fountain" that comes out for a few seconds by putting a piece through the bottom of a clear round cylinder and pushing it upwards which forces the sand to come out the top exactly like the pic on the box. You can stack the colors in the clear cylinder or you can mix them and then pick the top which comes in 6 different designs which makes the flow design different when your child pushed the sand up and out. The pieces are pretty hard to click on so I had to ... MoreThis kinetic sand kit comes with everything you see on the box. The pieces are pretty hard to click on so I had to help my 4 year old but he was able to push the sand out. Once he tired of it he just played with the kinetic sand and incorporated it with other kinetic sand pieces from past purchases. Overall this is a lot of fun for kids. However once you've mixed the colors, they are forever mixed. We found that once it was mixed it was a very dark blue, dark purple color but the sand is still fun to play with. All the plastic pieces are well made so they should last a very long time. You can just replace the sand with refills in the future if your child doesn't like the mixed color or it gets yucky from lots of play time bc Walmart sells refill packs.

Just okay

Eh ... Bought this for my five year old. She was so excited to get to playing. I thought it looked cool from watching the video on Target.com. I don't think this is a toy she can really play with by herself because the tops that you pop on are so difficult to snap on. They pop right off as soon as you attempt to extract the sand. Also, you don't get the same satisfaction watching the sand expel from the top as it looks on the video .. it kinda just spills out, losing its shape right away. That's if you are able to attach the top to the extractor. Try something else for a little one or if you don't plan on playing with the child each time they play with this.
