Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 256GB USB Flash Drive - Black

Arrived in 2 days, which is really good. However, this product is terrible. \n\nSustained read speeds is good (refer to pic below), but write speed is pretty bad with an average of just around 20-30mbps (despite CrystalDiskMark's 73mbps write speed) since writing a file causes the write speeds to go up to 50mbps for a second or two, then drops down to 0, then goes up to 50mbps again, then 0, similar to those cheap SSD with DRAM buffers, only a lot worse (the pic is of this issue shown below but Windows did not show the green speed graph go down to zero for some reason despite the speed showing 0). On USB 2.0 port it does the same but from 20mbps to 0mbps. \n\nNone of my other USB 3.0 flash drives does this (such as SanDisk Ultra Dual or Strontium Jet), only this ... MoreArrived in 2 days, which is really good. This is probably due to the bigger size of the Kingston compared to my SanDisk since it is so big/wide that the body covers the next USB port on my PC when plugged in, rendering it useless. Regardless of that, I'd still recommend you to pay more for a SanDisk or any higher quality flash drive. \n\nIf you mostly read files from but rarely write to (eg. Windows setup disk or store music to play in your car), get a USB 2.0 flash drive with a cheaper price instead unless you really need the read speed.

Bought 3 and all tested good. Absolute bargain and cheapest postage of any big online puter part retailer with the same postage cost for 3 units as for 1.The cover for the plug is captive and slides back over the body so there's no stupid little cap to lose.Actually 57GB (in proper '2^30 bytes' gigabytes) but that's par for the course for storage media this century. In a USB 3.0 socket it reads at 90MB/s and writes at 30MB/s, slowing to ~9MB/s once the cache is full. Slightly slower in a USB 2.0 socket. Acceptable performance for a budget USB stick.Big enough to create installation media or store a 4K video if it's short enough (around 1.75 hours, depending on bitrate) but costs about the same as a supermarket frozen pizza.

The worst USB 3.0 drives Ive tried to date

Still terrible, as i had tried an earlier version of these the other year. They had horrible write speeds then and haven't improved since last i tried them. These have horrible usb 1.0 write speeds like seriously anywhere from 5mbs-15mb tops. Whats really weird is the read speed is great and i was able to download things off of the USB stick at about 30mb-60mb.I tried them on multiple systems and they all had the same horrible write speeds.Another negative thing for these is they're cheaply made and feel it too. Took awhile for me to even be able to open and close them as they seemed to be stuck.
