Kirby's Dream Land is a platformer video game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy in 1992. It is the first game in the Kirby's Dream Land series and introduced the titular character, Kirby. In the game, Kirby must traverse six levels, defeating bosses and collecting items, in order to reach and defeat the evil King Dedede, who has stolen all the food from Dream Land. Kirby's unique ability to inhale enemies and copy their abilities is introduced in this game, allowing the player to use a variety of different powers to defeat enemies and progress through the levels. Kirby's Dream Land was praised for its charming graphics, catchy music, and fun gameplay, and it became a commercial success, leading to the development of numerous sequels and spin-off games featuring Kirby. The game has since been re-released on various Nintendo platforms, including the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console and the Nintendo Switch Online service.
