I'm so glad reviews exist. It's nice, in a sad way, to know I'm not the only one whose bowl won't stay on. However, I couldn't help but notice all the good reviews I saw were "incentivized." SMH Pathetic. Make a good product and you wouldn't need "incentivized" reviews. But thank you, KitchenAid, for having the tiniest bit of decency to not only admit which ones are biased, but also for leaving the negative reviews up. For that, you get a wee bit of respect from me.I inherited my mixer from my BFF's gramma less than 10 years ago. I'm not exactly sure when she bought it but it served us both well. At first, I loved it and used it on a fairly regular basis. Not daily, but once a week or so. Usually just cookies, mashed potatoes, once in awhile bread. Simple things. ... At first, I loved it and used it on a fairly regular basis. Not daily, but once a week or so. Usually just cookies, mashed potatoes, once in awhile bread. Simple things. Nothing fancy. I noticed last year or maybe the year before that the bowl would occasionally start to move. It also would start to "skip" the bits in the plate that it's supposed to lock into. Weird, but I kept going. Well, haha, yesterday I made bread and it FLEW OFF, knocking my ONLY liquid measuring cup onto the floor. (Thank goodness Pyrex is still quality as it didn't break...or at least it was quality when I bought that particular one...) I had my son take a video of it happening again so I could show both my BFF as well as my husband. I can't upload it here due to technical issues but I would if I could. I finished the bread by hand (which is how I prefer doing it anyway but yesterday I felt like being lazy which is why I bothered with the mixer) and did some quick googling. What I found was that either the bowl or the plate, or maybe both, needs replacing. OK, fine. I'm not happy about it but whatever. So be it. I'm not ready to shell out $600 for the really nice, good quality one on my wish list, so I thought that in the meantime, I'd just replace things on this one.I slept on it and now this morning I'm trying to find a bowl and/or plate to just fix it and keep going. 80 stinkin' dollars for a bowl that will give me the same problems?!?! And haven't found a base plate on here. Do I have to send it in to get replaced? Cuz I'm not doing that. Nah. I'm not going to waste my money on less than sub-par products (and it sounds from reviews like customer service is garbage too).I'm just about heartbroken, as I'd been planning on giving this to one of my children as an heirloom of sorts. Planned obsolescence is a cancer. Almost nothing is made like it used to be. (Been seeing the same thing with vehicles, major appliance brands like GE, Maytag, etc...all sorts of things.) It sucks.Anyway, people reading this: Don't waste your money. Scrolling through reviews for all sorts of things on here, KitchenAid doesn't deserve your money. Do your homework to find quality brands cuz this ain't it.

Firstly, stand mixer and all the attachments are awesome, I love them and have been very happy with them We are on our 3rd change of country posting (Canada, Australia and now USA) and hence 3rd stand mixer and this is hands down the worst bowl ever. I've had mine less than a year and a half and the bowl is cracked in 3 places along the rim and can no longer be used. My previous KA tilt-head stand mixers that I've owned for 15 and 5 years had absolutely no issues at all with that bowl. Clearly, the quality of manufacturing has seriously changed in the last 5 years, judging by the reviews and it would be nice if KitchenAid actually did something to improve the quality rather than replying with the standard "We are sorry to learn of the concern you expressed regarding ... This bowl is beautiful! I initially I was interested in the white floral bowl. I’m glad I chose this one. The dimpled texture is appealing as well as sturdy to hold. No slippery bowl to drop. I recently gave my KA Pro-Mixer to my daughter because she needed it for her growing family. I bought a classic KA mixer in the nice green shade. This bowl matches it nicely. Very pleased with all my Kitchen Aid products. This mixing bowl is exceptionally lovely.

I received the KSM150 mixer in 2016 as a wedding registry gift. I’ve used it infrequently since, but have loved it for breads, cookies, muffins, etc. Probably average monthly usage. About a year ago the bowl started flying off the base anytime I would use it, often almost injuring me or my children. I called kitchen aid and they sent a replacement for the base plate. Unfortunately, the bowl is the problem, and the base plate hasn’t made a difference. Kitchen aid won’t replace the bowl. I’m very disappointed as I’d hope to continue loving and using this product for many more years.
What a beautiful replacement for my original stainless bowl. I have the brushed copper mixer from early 2010's "Custom Metallic Series" release, and when I saw the hammered copper bowl, I knew I needed to pair them. The bowl fits perfectly in the base and is easy to remove (I love the double-handles!). The copper will probably tarnish a bit with time, but that's easy enough to clean and very worth the effort for the everyday beauty copper provides ❤️
I love this bowl and use it all the time! Ever since I got back from my trip to France, I’ve been practicing and perfecting the art of making macarons. In order to make macarons, you need stiff peaks from meringue. This bowl is perfect for it. It’s big, light, easy to maneuver, fits my mixer and is shiny! It even comes with a cover you can use for storage purposes. The best part is the handle. Having a handle on a mixing bowl is so helping for doing some extra stirring or pouring. Overall, a fantastic bowl and I have nothing, but great things to say. You need this bowl, go get it now!
When you use your KitchenAid mixer as much as I do, it's nice to have an extra bowl ready to go. Whether I'm baking for a crowd or meal prepping for the week, this bowl lets me do do more cooking and baking without stopping to clean. The polished stainless steel construction is durable and easy to clean. I appreciate that the bowl is dishwasher-safe, which makes cleanup simple. If you own a KitchenAid stand mixer and love to bake, you'll appreciate the convenience of this bowl. Highly recommended.
I have had my durable workhorse 4.5 quart Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer in constant use for over 35 years. I have never had a problem. I have continued to add handy additions like an ice shaver and a flexible edge beater paddle. I sat for my grandkids when their parents were out of town and used her 5 quart mixer with a handled bowl. The extra size kept the ingredients corralled better. The handle made it easier to twist on and off and dump out contents. I was sold and began looking for a compatible smooth surface handled stainless steel bowl. I was so happy to find that I could use the larger bowl on my beloved tilt head mixer. I plan to use this mixer and new bowl for many more years.
When you have a family that loves baked goods and you have a love for baking you need this product for your kitchen aid. I picked up a few so I can makes cookie dough and then just put them in my fridge to chill before I roll them out on the baking sheets to bake. Even after having it chill in the fridge where the batter gets sticky it’s still super easy to clean these. You just need to soak them in a bit of water or even just running some water and rubbing your fingers on it or a brush just cleans it right off, you can also throw these in the dishwasher and sterilize them that way they’re extremely durable and I don’t have to worry about my children dropping and breaking them when they help my in the kitchen
The bowl is well-designed and made with high-quality materials, which makes it durable and easy to use.The polished stainless steel finish not only looks great, but also makes it easy to clean. The bowl has a comfortable handle that makes it easy to grip and pour, and the 5-quart capacity is perfect for mixing ingredients for a wide variety of recipes. One of my favorite features of this bowl is the tilt-head design. This allows me to easily access the bowl while the mixer is in use, which makes adding ingredients and scraping down the sides a breeze.
