Bought as a Christmas present to myself after years of wanting one. So far I've used all the attachments except the pastry paddle and they have been a game changer, especially the flex-edge paddle. Having two bowls has been a game changer too as I make a lot of iced baking so can work with one bowl while the other is mixing! It's bulky for me to move from it's home on the counter to the power outlet so popped it on a wooden board with some ball bearing wheels from Amazon and it's great. The cable tidy is a real step up from previous models!Inclusion of a guide for first time users would be helpful - i.e. what the speeds are, how to use the dough hook well. I had to google it all.Overall, so happy with the grunt and usefullness of the attachments. Plus, now no ... MoreBought as a Christmas present to myself after years of wanting one. I operate a small organic baked goods business & have been hand mixing (wooden spoon) my biscuit dough for over a year. I developed problems with my shoulder & was reluctant to purchase my KitchenAid but felt I had no choice ~ 4 weeks on from using my new Mixer & I wish I had purchased it much sooner. My new mixer handles the creaming process beautifully (I was concerned about over mixing) & I find the range of mixing speeds suit my needs perfectly. I am able to use my mixer for the entire process & can turn biscuit dough straight onto a floured board for shaping. I love it. Thank you for making such a wonderful product.I have found that the colour is greyer that the images I viewed & I would choose differently next time.

I only bought this a month ago now and I have already made so many tarts, focaccias, croissants, cookies, cakes… what have you!! All this and I haven’t baked in 10 years. It is not only my hobby now but recently I have been selling my baked goods to a cafe!! I am so glad I’ve made this investment. I use all of the different attachments for various things. So you will definitely use all of them if you bake a lot. The stainless steel is great quality and it will last you for years. My grandmother apparently has had this for 40 years or so!! By the way this is the first time I have ever used a mixer like this and I cannot believe what I’ve been missing out on. I’ve saved so much time in the kitchen and everything comes out so perfect. I have been wanting a stand mixer for the last cpl of years, I have friends that had highly recommended the kitchen aid mixer but I didn’t want to spend that kind of money. Fast forward to Christmas 22 being held at my house and all the baking and cooking I needed to get done, I bit the bullet and I could not be happier with my delayed purchase. It cleans easily, is quieter than I thought it would be (quieter than my nutro bullet), comes with great attachments and the potential to purchase more for pasta and grinding. The bowl sizes are great and easy to clean.I also love the colour choices I had.My only complaint is a small chip of coating came off my kneading hook attachment, when it dropped in the box. It wasn’t large enough for me to bother with.

This is quite a recent purchase and I don't have a license, so the first trip around the block was a disaster. We tried to make some Madelines and the mixer did way too good a job of stiffening the egg whites, so when other ingredients were added, the whole mixture was over mixed. We had to settle down; not used to the size and power. The next weekend, I made a fruit loaf and Oh My Goodness, what a gorgeous delicacy that turned out to be. So evenly mixed; so soft and moist with a beautiful balance. So easy to add ingredients on the go. Using the cover prevents any flour cloud or spills; not that much gets over the top of the huge mixing bowl.We are definitely getting the glass bowl to complement our new mixer and the juicer. Probably the mincer after that.
I bought my first Kitchenaid stand mixer in 2013 (Platinum KSM156) i used it alot and decided to sell it in 2021. Unfortunately by mid 2022 I decided it was a big mistake. Anyway, bought another one (Artisan KSM195) for a Christmas present to myself. I haven't used it yet but will soon. They are a great robust stand mixer, and I am definitely keeping this one.The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that the manual that comes with it is just a few pages compared to my previous model where it huge with heaps of recipes. Not sure why Kitchenaid don't do a manual/cookbook anymore. Perhaps to save money or feedback. I much prefer a hard copy WITH RECIPES. I suggest when people register their KSM you also have an option for a proper manual to be sent. For the amount of ... I bought my Onyx Black Stand Mixer just after Christmas. I had been looking at looking at mixers for a while and trying to decide whether to take the plunge and get one. I had been using an old fashioned egg beater and whisk to make cakes so I really did need something a bit more advanced! I am so happy with my decision and on New Year's Day I made my first cake with it. It was my famous chocolate cake which I had always beaten by hand. It was so simple to use and I made use of both of the bowls that came with the product - one to mix the base ingredients using the flex edge beater and the other to make the egg whites light and fluffy using the whisk attachment. It turned out so well. Since then I have ventured into making individual meringues using my ducks eggs. ... MoreI bought my Onyx Black Stand Mixer just after Christmas. I'm very pleased with my purchase and looking forward to trying the dough hook next. My mixer has opened up a whole new world of baking for me and that's just the beginning.
I recently purchased this stand mixer after having it on my wish list for quite some time. It was to replace an existing old mixer by another brand. The first time I went to use it the whisk beater got stuck and I wasn't able to remove it. It had to be taken in for service and I was told the whisk beater itself was the wrong size for my mixer. As a result the beater shaft has been damaged and needs to be replaced. Very disappointing given this was the first time I used the mixer. I am waiting for the mixer to be fixed and a replacement wire whisk to be sent. This aside when I was beating the eggs and sugar for the Torta Caprese I made it did a great job. Hopefully I wont have any other issues when the mixer is repaired.
my first use wasn’t great. none of the attachments would fit onto the unit properly because there’s a pin that wasn’t pushed in properly. once i got it so one side was flush and the other poked out to hold the attachment in place they (mostly) fit on with no dramas. some were still weirdly tight. also had a weird issue with the motor struggling to mix cake batter and it actually even stopped working but i turned it off and restarted it and haven’t had the issue come back since. not a great first use and i was worried that id have to return it (still am tbh) but hopefully it was just some weird one-off issue.i don’t find the shield all that helpful, flour still goes shooting out the back unless you put the mixer on the lowest setting when adding flour, in which ...
