This attachment was the very first accessory I purchased when I bought my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer ten years ago. I use it weekly if not daily to easily juice citrus fruits for beverages and cooking. It is able to get all the juice out very quickly and clean up just involves throwing out the collected seeds and giving it a quick rinse under the faucet. I highly recommend this attachment!

The KitchenAid stand mixer with a juicer attachment is a versatile tool for any kitchen. The stand mixer itself is known for its durability and performance, and the juicer attachment adds another layer of functionality. It's convenient for making fresh juices from various fruits and vegetables. However, like any attachment, it may not be as efficient or specialized as a standalone juicer. Overall, it's a great option for those who already own a KitchenAid mixer and want to expand its capabilities.

You can call me a KitchenAid fanatic. I have owned my mixer for over 13 years and I use its attachments, to make my everyday tasks easier. I recently acquired the citrus juicer attachment and I must say I am impressed. First off, the attachment was ready to use right out of the box. It came with the standard metal adapter that fits right into the attachment port on the top of the mixer and 3 other plastic pieces that make up the juicer. It has a decent sized plastic outer basin, which prevents the juices from spilling and a square strainer to catch the seeds and the pulp. The actual extracting bulb is small but very powerful. In order to use this attachment, the mixer must be turned to 6. At first, I honestly thought 6 would be too fast and make it hard for me to control. That was furthest from the truth, as the speed didn't make the extraction process difficult at all. In fact I was able to juice 3 oranges in less than 5 minutes. Though the orange juice was perfect for me, this wouldn't be the case for someone who dislikes pulp in their juice though. The extracted orange juice did contain a decent amount of pulp. I think this is due to the size of the holes in the strainer. To me this wasn't a deal breaker as this can be remedied with a simple household strainer. Overall, I think that if you buy orange juice or make mixed drinks with citrus, this attachment will make your life easier. In less than 5 minutes, you can have a sugar free, freshly squeezed glass of orange juice. You can call me a KitchenAid fanatic. I purchase lemons, limes, and oranges in bulk, then juice them, pour by type into seperate ice cube trays, and freeze them. That way I always have fresh juice on hand for recipes that call for the juice of two limes, etc. This handy attachment allows me to get almost twice as much juice from each fruit than two other types of manual juicers that I have, plus it catches almost all the seeds and pulp.
I was really excited when I ordered this juicer. Until my husband noticed metal shavings in the juice and metal dust on the juicer. I did purchase this through Amazon and left a review there as well. Just wanted people to know this is potentially a dangerous product. Imagine giving this juice to a child. Not at all what I expected from Kitchen Aid. I believe the issue lies in using aluminum instead of stainless steel. Perhaps correcting that will solve the issue.Have returned to Amazon.
About as straight-forward a device as you can get. You can go through a lot of oranges and other citrus fruits very quickly. It is a messy process if you're doing it in bulk (it would be nicer if the seed catcher were bigger) but much less of a problem compared to the old hand methods. A must for owners of back-yard citrus trees. For the price it's a huge bargain.
I recently purchased this citrus juicer and have used it three times. It sure made short work of a pile of oranges, although the strainer tray clogged up with pulp very quickly and got overwhelmed easily, spilling juice and pulp all over, and you have to keep your elbow up to prevent juice from running down your arm. The third time using it, however, metallic particles started coming out from the attachment shaft. This was definitely NOT a lubricant. (I tried to add photos but was not successful.)
Kitchenaid, if you are looking at this, I wouldn't take this review lightly if I were you. Because I'm thinking about hiring a lawyer for this. The attachment has some serious design flaw to have that metal particles sips into the extracted juice. I'm not sure how I have been taking the extracted juice with the metal particles in it or not, but this issue also poses harming customers health and so on so. Looks like the metal particles are produced by the attachment hole's metal finish from the inside of it, and there is one other metal wand that helps to hold the corn shaped shredder attached to the device and when it rotates the metal parts get shredded and which in result, those bits will be sliding down towards to the tray and travels down further to the ... MoreKitchenaid, if you are looking at this, I wouldn't take this review lightly if I were you. My question to you is that your QA team actually tested its safety or not?
I've had mine for 2yrs. Bought it to juice all the lemons from my tree. First year it was great. Second year I had no lemons due to frost. This year? Just as I was down to one lemon, it locked up, spit off the strainer basket and juicer part - spewing lemon pulp and seeds everywhere and leaving the main section to spin around, still attached to the mixer! Now it doesn't work at all. The main section simply spins around. Yes. I removed it; cleaned it and tried it again...spin, spin, spin.
I bought the juicer to save some space in my kitchen and to save my wrists and hands too. It works well and is easy to set up. The only thing that is metal on it is the pin you use to attach to insert it into the mixers pin hole. You have to tighten the mixers screw into the plastic of the attachment which I don't like. It feels like I'm going to over tighten the screw and break the juicer. Once attached it does work great and I get plenty of juice out of each orange, but you have to put pressure all over the orange while pressing it against the juicer. The only problem with that is that sometimes you'll have juice running down your arm if you get too close to the edge of the orange half your juicing. I use a short pot to collect the juice that comes out and then pour it into my juice container. But either way it still works and I was able to save some space in my kitchen, PLUS now I don't feel guilty about not using my mixer often because now I use it at least twice a week for jucing.
