Pros: This immersion blender is incredible. For years I had a cheaper version made of mostly plastic. Th stainless steal is very durable and easily whips up the creamiest mashed cauliflower or blends soups. The blade is easy to clean and I like the variable speeds. The button is also easy enough to press and in a good location that makes it comfortable to use. The cons: this blender came with an attachment to help protect your pots and pans from scratching. I attached it as directed and went on to use it in my enamel pot. As I was blending my soup (which was nearly done) I felt the blade hit something. When I stopped the blade and lifted it out of the pot, I noticed the guard had come off. The blades from the blender nicked the guard leaving behind shards of plastic ... MorePros: This immersion blender is incredible. For years I had a cheaper version made of mostly plastic. Like another QVC review (not a review imported from KitchenAid), the pan guard fell off during use. Absent any warning in the printed literature that this could happen and having operated my new blender successfully only once the same evening, when this occurred I continued blending (unaware) until I heard a heart-stopping contact between blade and guard in the bottom of my ice cream and berries mixture. This contact resulted in visible damage to both the pan guard and 4c pitcher and possible damage to blade on blending arm. I am working with KitchenAid to hopefully acquire a new guard. At the same time I sent a pic of the blade within the blending arm to ascertain if now dull or damaged after causing damage to guard. I can live with the blade cuts on the pitcher. ... MoreLike another QVC review (not a review imported from KitchenAid), the pan guard fell off during use. No where was there a warning that consumer must continually ensure that guard remains on blending arm. I thought I had purchased a quality, use tested and well documented KitchenAid small appliance. What a horrible experience!!

I purchased this when the motor in my Cuisinart hand blender (which I loved) stopped after 7 plus years. I just knew I was upgrading with this being a “Kitchenaid” but I couldn’t purée even the softest of foods without it turning off within seconds of blending and that’s not even the frustrating part. The frustrating part is that you can’t turn it back on. You literally have to wait like 10 or more minutes before you can use it again. I love how it looks but its functionality is awful. I highly do not recommend this product.

I purchased the KitchenAid cordless immersion blender in May. I charged it then and it is still holding it's charge. I admit that I have only used it about five times while making soups. I love the freedom a cordless blender gives you. This blender is quieter than my thirty year old Braun and doesn't cause my dog to bark and jump up while I use it. I like it so much that I just sent my daughter one in red. This QVC price is better than any other offer I could find. Only 4 stars, because I have very tiny hands. My husband has no trouble holding it while pressing both buttons. I have to stop and readjust and it can get heavy. I only wish that the neck were narrower, but that is the price you pay for the freedom of a cordless immersion blender. I was excited to receive this hand blender as a gift, but was quickly disappointed when I discovered the PAN GUARD IS MISSING! The instruction book clearly shows that piece and makes a reference to it protecting cookware. It is also pictured as an included accessory in the product description on this webpage. The instruction book indicates this piece can be ordered as a replacement part, so I searched pan guard on this website. That page indicates this piece can be purchased separately for $6.99 but the link for where to purchase simply redirects back to the same page. Also, every review on that page is one star, each stating the pan guard was not included in their purchase. Come on KitchenAid! Either include the guard or at least make it available for purchase. ... MoreI was excited to receive this hand blender as a gift, but was quickly disappointed when I discovered the PAN GUARD IS MISSING! I just love this hand blender! I like to make homemade apple butter and before I obtained this tool, the blending of the cooked apples with the skins intact was a really lengthy, messy and difficult task using my small food chopper. This was very easy to use, very powerful and did a marvelous job of pureeing the cooked apples with the spices and sugar added. I then placed the blended apple mixture into my crockpot and the end result was wonderful. My family gave it a "ten" and I plan to make another batch soon to give as Christmas gifts to my family and friends. I am researching other ways to utilize my blender and know there are many more to discover. Thanks Kitchen-aid for a great time saving product.
Ok I had a longer review which Target rejected without letting me edit to remove a word that it deemed offensive. But I mean COME ON, the pan guard fell off and shredded, only I thought it was just a bigger piece of crushed ice making it a bit louder than usual to make my breakfast smoothie. Nope. Plastic. In my smoothie. Which I didn’t realize until I took a sip and felt something like a chunk of ice yet it looked like lava rock. See middle of third pic. I ran the contents through a mesh strainer. So. Much. Plastic. (The brown is ground flaxseed) I bought this one to replace an older Oster model that lasted multiple years. Without the pan guard, the blender stick scrapes the walls of the plastic cup. Last pic shows scrapes that weren’t there previously with use of ... MoreOk I had a longer review which Target rejected without letting me edit to remove a word that it deemed offensive. the blender itself is great, I really enjoy using it. The problem is the cup. Most of the recepies with chocolate require you to heat the chocolate first to make it liquid and I thought to microwave it directly in the plastic cup instrad of microwaving chocolate in a separate bowl and then transfering it to the cup. But turns out the cup is not microwave safe, it melted and almost started a fire. I know tgat I was supposed to read the description first to make sure it's not microwave safe, but nowadays almost all plastic dishes, containers, cups, etc are microwave safe so it was a big surprise to me.
This KitchenAid hand blender is a handy little tool to have at the ready! When opening this hand blender I noticed the same characteristic I have seen every other KitchenAid product that I have used have and that is heavy duty quality. This did not feel cheap like they skipped out on materials or build quality at all. It feels solid in your hand despite being a small kitchen appliance. Latching the blending arm to the motor feels like a very secure connection and there is no play at all. The button also feels precise and smooth, again not cheap feeling at all. I also love the convenient sized blending cup the blender came with, it was the perfect size for the family to make milkshakes in. I also appreciated the plastic bumper to put around the base of the blending ... MoreThis KitchenAid hand blender is a handy little tool to have at the ready! I also love the convenient sized blending cup the blender came with, it was the perfect size for the family to make milkshakes in. I also appreciated the plastic bumper to put around the base of the blending arm to not scratch or damage what you are blending in. It's the little things like that that a manufacturer like KitchenAid thinks of. I used this in my big pot of pasta sauce and regularly touched the bottom and sides and not a single scratch to be found. Our milkshakes came out very good, but a different texture than what I was expecting. I do not fault the machine because I think I just didn't know what I was doing yet. I was very satisfied though when it came to mixing the pasta sauce with the meat and other added ingredients. It mixed it up with ease and the texture afterward was great. I think this item can be great for making smoothies or other drinks, baby foods, and definitely for cooking purposes! I can see myself using this more so for cooking because it is such a small but handy tool to use, and cleanup is a breeze. Its not like I have to dig out a big appliance and clean up a bunch of pieces later. Overall I highly recommend this hand blender, this may not be a kitchen appliance that everyone will use regularly, but it is one that everyone should have because when the job arises for it, it will handle it with ease and make the task easier for you!
I had one of these basic versions that worked fine for the occasional task which was broken in a move. We have an offbrand that needs to be replaced as now that i have a baby, i use it all the time…. For everything. I really want and cant believe there’s not one that sits in a countertop charger and looks nice (i have no idea why classic white- not the cheap plastic utilitarian white is not available in a lot of the retro appliances) AND has a frother attachment as well as a high quality blade-all the other stuff it normally comes with. I would pay good money for that. I dont understand how thats not a thing yet. What gives?!
