I bought this thinking I was upgrading from my $50 machine that was actually doing a good job, but I decided I would "treat" myself. I have a huge sense of regret for doing so. For starters, I had to buy a mixer attachment which cost MORE than my ENTIRE old machine for an attachment that CAME WITH my old machine!!! (The edge scraper attachment). I tried first with the standard attachment and everything just got smeared on the side of the bowl, so I bit the bullet and spent the extra $70 on the attachment. Well, things did not improve. I still had to use a spatula to manually scrape ingredients that were just smeared on the side of the bowl. I ended up pulling my old mixer back out of the cupboard and using it to mix the ingredients properly. I read the instructions about possibly needing to adjust the mixer, so I did that, as far as it would go. I was very hopeful upon using it that the adjustment would solve the issue, but no. As you can see from the photos, I still had creamed butter and sugar smeared on the side of the bowl, not incorporating with the eggs, and then being left on the bottom of the bowl as well. This NEVER happened with my old mixer. So, so, so incredibly disappointed and I will be reaching out to the shop I purchased from for a refund. I should have just stuck with my old mixer - it cost $50 and did a far superior job of mixing cake batter than this supposedly amazing one has done!

One of these has always been on my ābucket listā. I have always loved to cook, especially bake, but could never talk myself into justifying spending the money. Well we bought a gas portable pizza oven (G*zn*y brand, itās brilliant!.... but thatās another story... ) I wanted to make a dough recipe in a stand mixer, my very very cheap one did the job, but couldnāt handle a large batch (doubling a recipe) or 2 batches done, one after the other (it would shut down). I also had to watch it closely, as the machine would sometime attempt to jump off the counter!. I didnāt use it for baking as it never seemed to combine ingredients well. My new Kitchenaid whips egg whites, cream etc so much quicker than my hand held mixer, and I donāt have to wipe down the walls or bench ...Ā MoreOne of these has always been on my ābucket listā. I should have bought one years ago.... itās a very solid machine and quite heavy, so make sure if itās not kept on a bench, itās on a shelf in a cupboard thatās not too high or too low. Went with āalmond creamā as I wanted a classic colour that wouldnāt date, and would fit in with any kitchen colour scheme in the future as well. Highly recommend...

My partner was smart enough to purchase this as a present for me after we bought our first house together. I had been wanting this for many months and was just delighted to receive it. Appearance wise the colour is absolutely beautiful - it adds a nice splash of colour to the kitchen, but remains neutral enough to fit in with whatever colour scheme we pick for our renovations. Have seen the same colour in other kitchens with different colour schemes to our kitchen and it always fits in well.As far as performance goes - it is so quick and easy. It takes half the time to whip up my cheesecakes and creates a beautiful smooth texture (plus no sore arm from standing there doing it myself). Added bonus is it gives me freedom to crack on with the next stage of the recipe ...Ā MoreMy partner was smart enough to purchase this as a present for me after we bought our first house together. I wash the bowls and attachments by hand and dry them straight away. No rust, no scratches, remains in good condition after many months of use.One small issue is I tend to need to still scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula a few times during mixing, otherwise it doesn't all combine. Compared to the old electric beaters I used though it is still far quicker, simpler, and provides a better finish on everything I've baked.Price point is okay but it definitely isn't cheap and neither are the attachments! That said, given the quality it is fair - will see how much use/longevity I get out of it.Overall - great product, so glad we got it. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would.

I bought a refurbished one last month and have been using it a couple of times to make cakes, brownies, frosting, donut dough, and indonesian meat balls. In general, the mixer works very well resulted into nice cakes and donuts (see pics). It is also easy to operate. Every parts is easy to install, robust, and easy to clean. The safety features (the head-tilt lock, the bowl lock to the base, etc) give me good feelings in operating it. For these reasons, I am very happy with this mixer. However, there are several things that could be improved. First, the bowl cover doesnāt sit properly on the bowl, hence, doesnāt fully function in keeping everything inside. Second, the motor got overheated easily. Second, the motor got overheated easily. Understood that it suggested to only operate it for max. of 10mins, followed by some ādown timeā to cool it down. However, some recipes require long mixing at a high speed such as the Indonesian meatballs I made. Therefore, this machine unfortunately is not suitable for this kind of recipe.
Iāve wanted a kitchenaid for a long as I can remember. I just adore the look of them and the idea of a really posh kitchen thing. I always talked myself out of buying one because they are expensive and Iām not rich! Four weeks ago, after getting a sale email I finally joined the posh bench furniture club- well thatās what I thought! I was sure I wouldnāt use it much and Iād be mocked for its pretty, but idle, status. BUT! I was so wrong. It is so beautifully simple in its design and so easy to use and it does exactly what it needs to do. I made a meringue that actually had stiff, white peaks. This may seem weird but I have attempted meringues many times in my life, maybe twice it has worked. I bought my stand mixer just over a year ago, and have really loved it. It is beautiful and easy to use, and has encouraged me to expand my baking skills with new recipes. My stand mixer also has sentimental value as it is my first stand mixer and bought in my new home. Unfortunately, the motor stopped moving whilst I was making dough for cinnamon scrolls on Christmas Eve (approximately 13 months since I bought it). I had to return it on the day to GoodGuys with hopes for it to be repaired, as I needed it for Christmas day also to complete some dishes. Unfortunately given that I live in the Northern Territory, my stand mixer had to be sent downsouth for repair which I was informed today (10th Jan) that it was only mailed too KitchenAid today. I love my refurbished 4.8L Artisan Standmixer! It looks and feels brand new and works so very well!First I made traditional pretzels that need a lot of kneading, which is hard to do by hand. Not only does my KSM160 speed up the process, it also kneads a much more elastic and smooth yeast dough thatās fantastic to work with. Next up I made a smooth German style meatloaf. The kneading hook worked through my batch of minced meat very well! Thereās nothing it doesnāt seem to do. Think pizza dough: amazing results! An āindustrialā amount of pancake batter for a large family gathering: a breeze to whip up!Now I canāt stop using my stand mixer, I love it that much.
I purchased this a several months ago but have only recently unpacked and started using. On the 4th or 5th use, i noticed green black oil drips in the bowl whilst whipping cream, as well as the motor speed fluctuating. It took about 7-10minutes on high speed to fully whip the cream.Upon contacting the service dept by email, i was at least relieved that the oil is food grade and not harmful. However, it was disappointing to hear that this apparently is considered normal and their advice/ solution is to run the mixer on speed 5 (without attachments) for 5 minutes daily for 5 days.I havenāt noticed any more grease/oil drops but the motor speed still fluctuates up and down.Iām just glad that thereās a decent warranty period as i think it will be needed.I loved ...Ā MoreI purchased this a several months ago but have only recently unpacked and started using. On the 4th or 5th use, i noticed green black oil drips in the bowl whilst whipping cream, as well as the motor speed fluctuating. Stick with the stainless attachments
I purchased a kitchenaid stand mixer to try to make healthier food with the kids. Iāve been making bread regularly - so easy! Weāve also made sausage rolls, cupcakes, scones, ice cream. The ice cream bowl attachment is so worth it. The flat beater came with a paint chip that started to flake and kitchenaid replaced it under warranty without and hassles; great customer service. Iāve since purchased the pasta roller and cutter attachment, spiralizer and grinder attachments but Iām yet to use them - hopefully in the next few weeks. I didnāt know they had different cup sizes until I saw someone post about it in a kitchenaid Facebook group, so a number of recipes didnāt work. It would be useful if they created different recipes/booklets for countries that use the metric system. And it doesnāt mix the butter into the flour well when making scones, I still have to finish it by hand. Also, I kept talking about it so much that my friend went and purchased one! Highly recommend it.

A million times yes.
