Aluminum dough hook gets freaking WELDED on

I've tried all the recommended solutions, pouring hot water on the attachment to get it to thermally expand, oil etc . . . Nothing works. Its just about welded on. I've already damaged the paint on my mixer trying to get that dough hook off. You need a freaking hydraulic press to get it off and nothing will fit. I may end up cutting it off with a metal saw. Kitchenaid HAS a stainless steel dough hook. They should stop shipping this aluminum one EVER as it is horrible garbage. I've seen enough videos on how to get stuck attachments off that its obvious this is a common problem. ... Morebought this about 6 months ago and used it mostly for bread. Okay, this has got to be the best hands down beater for my kitchenaid. There's MULTIPLE beaters but the one for the TILT HEAD is super amazing! Make sure you get the right one!I make tons of cookies and cakes and this is amazing. Doesn't clump and get stuck, it beats my batter evenly and it's quieter than my other beater!! I wish they give you multiple different heads when you buy the kitchenaid!! I have an artisan and a professional, now I want to get one for my professional kitchenaid! When it's mixing your batter, it spins evenly and distributes the batter so nicely. I feel like it gets out all the air bubbles for my batter so that when my cake cooks, it's even and smooth and soft!!I don't know where I was without this. I will be using this beater forever. ... MoreOkay, this has got to be the best hands down beater for my kitchenaid. There's MULTIPLE beaters but the one for the TILT HEAD is super amazing! I was generously gifted with my beautiful red KitchenAid mixer by my best friend Debbye ,2 years ago this month. For the past 5 months I have not been able to use it because of the horrible grinding noise it made. Hubby called customer service and because it had been over 1 year, they would do nothing but suggested a certified KitchenAid repair shop, 1 hour drive away. We took video but the repair guy refused to look at it, claiming he knew what was wrong with it. Had to make another 2 hour trip (up and back) to pick it up. I tried grating cheese with it and guess what? Same thing!! We paid $180.00, drove a ridiculous distance for nothing! We had to take it back AGAIN! It still makes a noise it shouldn't be making and it was rarely used. I will NEVER, EVER buy ... MoreI was generously gifted with my beautiful red KitchenAid mixer by my best friend Debbye ,2 years ago this month. Low end model for a kitchen aid product
6 January 2023

I bought this artisan mixer for baking desserts. Used to make a 3 layer cake. Making the batter, the machine had a hard time running consistently-slowed down, stopped and turned off and back on. Could not beat batter at a consistent speed. Same thing happened with the icing. Motor just not powerful enough. Also, have had other kitchen aid mixers and this one had more plastic parts, cheaper looking beaters (instructions say to not put beater in dishwasher or it will discolor). Cannot recommend this model. Go for a more powerful motor.

Not up to par

Bought this mixer expecting the best in mixers and was disapointed. The 6-wire whip and flat beater blades are hard to attach to the mixer. It seems like the holes in the blades are a bit to small for the dimisions of the shaft it connects too. Resulting in me forcing it on after many attempts. Greasing the shaft does not seem to help. The dough hook attaches with no issues. Also, the locking mechinism switch that keeps the mixer from lifting up does not slide all the way over, so the switch will not stay in place and after a bit, the locking switch will vibrate over the unlock position allowing the mixer head to start to lift up and down when mixing. I have owned a KitchenAid Mixer before and really liked it, but this one let me down. Not same quality as my older ... MoreBought this mixer expecting the best in mixers and was disapointed. Pretty but a bit shaky
25 November 2022

The mixer looks well made and the colour is very pretty. It's a perfect addition to my kitchen counter. If I mix light batters it works perfectly. However, if I mix heavier batter (eg. bread) the head usually starts to shake and pop up so I have to hold it down --which kind of defeated the purpose of using a mixer in the first place. If you often need to mix heavy doughs, get the bowl-lift model. I would have preferred that one for my bread-making needs, but that one is too big to sit on my counter.(+) A lot of attachment options (sold separately). I make a lot of pasta with the extruder and pasta rollers.(-) Not so great for heavier doughs.

The red finish is beautiful!
30 July 2022

I bought the Artisan about a month ago. I have a standard tilt head I have had for many years and really love my KitchenAid. But I needed something bigger, more powerful for making cookie dough. I love the handle on the bowl (old one doesn't have) and the bowl is deeper. Also, it came with an accessory I was not expecting. It has a clear plastic guard that fits over the top of the bowl, that has an open chute to funnel flour, sugar, or what ever you need into the bowl without spilling the ingredients all over the counter! What a great addition! I sing the praises of KitchenAid to all my friends and family. I will never be without one as long as I can keep making cookies.

great machine, but 'lock' doesn't work
12 January 2023

I bought the standmixer a few weeks ago. I'm really happy with what it can do. I've used it more than I thought I would. One problem is that the lock function doesn't work properly. For heavier batches (dough etc.) it comes unlocked and the machine starts bumping around. It's really hard to hold it down. I've tried to fill out the online form for help, just now for the second time, but I'm not getting a response. The chat function doesn't work sometimes, or it says there are too many people with inquiries so I have to try another time. Honestly disappointed that the customer service for such a great, but expensive item is not working well.
