I've used the Klorane Peony Shampoo off and on for years, and I was glad to see a conditioner to go with the shampoo. The fragrance is nice (not too strong) and lasts for maybe two days. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it takes some experimenting to find the right amount to use, and to leave it on for a few minutes. It can be used in between shampoos by applying a very small amount to finger tips and massaging into scalp and on wavy hair that needs some assistance with styling too.

I was really excited to try this product because while I have thick, long, naturally curly hair, it’s also low porosity, so thinner conditioners penetrate my hair better. I also really like that it’s sulfate and silicone-free which is ideal for conditioning curly hair! The consistency definitely takes some getting used to, and it takes a lot to coat your hair if you have thick hair. I wasn’t totally sure if my hair was moisturized well, but when it dried, it was shiny and soft. The smell is divine and reminds me of Chloe perfume. ve never had any issues with my scalp however the last month it is itchy and dry. There is one section of my lower scalp that has been extremely dry and itchy. I've been trying different shampoos, conditioners, creams, etc but nothing has helped until I tried this. I used just the conditioner (I did not use the shampoo). It did not lather at all, I wasn't sure how I felt about it after I rinsed it off but my hair brushed out nicely (no tangles). My scalp instantly felt relief however the next day when I woke up (I took a night shower) my scalp felt so much better. I used it again two nights later and complete relief. No more irritation, started to heal the dry skin. I absolutely love this! If you have an irritated scalp give this a try.

While I can sort of understand the confusion, it is a conditioner for hair (the instructions say to apply to the lengths and ends of hair), just of a different consistency to the sort of conditioner you may be used to (it's a kind of gel based consistency). I have come full circle with my dry hair, from using very little shampoo and lots of oil (which actually resulted in drying my hair more, by blocking out moisture), to regular clarifying shampoos and oil-free conditioner (using the 'squish to condish' method), and both my scalp and hair have benefited from it. I have had problems with an itchy, irritable scalp for quite a while now and have tried various products for sensitive skin, but nothing seemed to help much. I have just bought the Klorane Peony Soothing Shampoo, and thought I would try the conditioner alongside to see if it made any difference. The conditioner feels very nice on my scalp, and is very soothing. (It is not a hair conditioner though, so not to be confused). Have only used three times, so too early to say definitively, but it does appear to be helping and is not irritating my skin. Fingers crossed it helps long term.
