Knipex 2612200SBA Long Nose Pliers with Cutter with Comfort Grip, 8 Inch
Knipex primarily manufactures the forged and oil hardened snipe nose side cutting pliers for gripping, alignment and installation work. They deliver a second function in these areas that is important for assembly work. Their cutting edges are shaped to produce a bite type cut. The cutters are additionally induction hardened, so that the Knipex 26 12 200 is even suitable for cutting hard wire. Thanks to the induction hardening of the cutting edges to approx. 61 HRC, cutting capacities of up to 2.2 Ø mm are produced on hard wire. The precision tips of the pliers made of vanadium electric steel are elastic and stable when twisted. This allows the manual force deployed to be well measured - forcefully where necessary. The cutting edges are near the joint which is advantageous for the transmission of force. The cutting capacities of Ø 3.2 mm achieved for medium-hard wire and Ø 2.2 mm for hard wire are impressive for professional users.

I expected better from Knipex’s reputation. Look, they’re nice pliers, no doubt. But the nose was slightly (VERY slightly, but noticeably) bent, and consequently some overlap was noticeable. No slop in the handles, only a tiny bit stiff initially, great grips. Just thought these would be machined to perfection, but they weren’t.

German engineering. I like the feel of a quality tool in my hands. Good hard steel and a smooth silky pivot make these needle nose pliers a pleasure to use. Expensive? Yes, but I would rather buy a quality tool once, than have to buy inferior quality tools multiple times, because of failure to function well.

I recently decided to start upgrading my tool set from consumer quality Lowe Depot tools to something that will last, and ultimately settled on Knipex. After switching over a handful of tools already, I am extremely happy with the quality and workmanship put into their tools. The teeth are tight when closed and there is no side play in the two sides. I also like the comfort grip handles over the regular rubber coated, as it better fits my hands and makes them more comfortable to use. All of that, coupled with the tool steel used in the pliers themselves, and I can see using these for years to come.

As a professional mechanic, I like the quality. Worth the money, and provide a reasonable upgrade from cheaper brands.Winning Features- Made in Germany with outstanding quality- Smooth operation during opening and closing with no "sticking"- Size of handles is great and ergonomic- Knipex is going to be my go to for pliers
Ever since using the cobra channel locks, I've been a fan of Knipex products. They make quality tools and this is no exception. The length is nice, good for getting in there and holds a solid grip. The handles have a smooth coating which is a little slippery but overall a great tool
These Knipex are the best needle nose pliers you can get. When handled and used, they feel pretty substantial. The tool articulation is very very smooth. The ‘needle’ is perfectly symmetric, and split in he center, unlike a $12 set I inspected from a very large supplier of legal knockoff, junk tools (ahem H.F...). You get what you pay for. And they ‘look’ like a $30 hand tool. These are replacing a $25 Craftsman Professional needle nose which I purchased about 8 years ago—which gently broke at the top...sometimes you don’t get what you pay for..in the trash. Buh-bye Craftsman. These Knipex are very similar to how old US forged hand tools used to be made (I have some from the 1950s and they are still fine to use). These needle nose pliers are really really long. I'm impressed at how long the jaws of these pliers are, but that also comes with a downside: once the jaws are this long, they become more flexible. This is just simple engineering, they're really long and thing so they can reach way down inside of small spaces, but they can't apply nearly as much force as shorter pliers can. I really like this pair of pliers, but the flexibility of the jaws makes this a somewhat specialized tool. Sadly this leaves me reaching for other, less awesome pliers. Clearly I need to buy another set of slightly shorter Knipex needle nose pliers so I can choose the strength to length ratio that's perfect for the job every time.
What can I say? It's a knipex. The pliers do get tight right around the maximum range of opening, but that's fairly standard for all needle nose pliers I have used. Through the normal range of motion these pliers are incredibly smooth and very comfortable. I do recommend the comfort grips, with the one exception being if you work around a lot of oil or solvents. Either of these materials can eventually ruin the Comfort grip. The standard grip seems to be much more resilient to these chemicals, especially solvents.
these 8" needle nose are made to Knipex's famous tool quality. the tip is pretty slender and I was not really expecting that but the grind is very nice and even. used them several times for phishing wires and even cutting electrical wires with the cutter. great build and the comfort grips are fantastic in the hand (wish I had never tried the now I am replacing all my cobras with the comfort grip)
this replaced my goto kitchen pliers that do electrical bending and stripping, fine and medium plier tasks, and everything else out of my shop. jaws aligned, hinge smooth, cutter gapless, all the boxes ticked. i was so impressed by this trial that i am slowly replacing all my old pliers/cutters with knipex. hurrah!
