These pliers are stupid good! I have always bought channel locks…these pliers leave them in the dust. After using Knipex pliers, you will want to re-home your channel lock pliers to a friend or family member, but you’d feel terrible giving away such rubbish. Yes they are that good! Buy them in the multi packs for better pricing!

Excellent channel locks! They're German I've had many pairs. They're a bit pricy but so worth it. I keep replacing them as I lose them and won't use anything else. As you may know channel locks are directional and when you use these oriented correctly you barely have to squeeze. The teeth are razor sharp super hard and don't dull and dig in for an amazing grip. I am not a bot I am just super thrilled with the quality! Nothing beats them and knipex has other tools with equally superior quality.

So I will first say this is not my first set of these. My whole tool box got stolen and this was one of the first 10 tools I first replaced because they really are the best. My problem with it though which is why I purchased them on amazon and not a tool truck was because listed in the photos it shows it comes in the plastic blow mold to store them in. Clearly in my picture they do not come in the blow mold just a clear plastic package you throw out. So for that I gave it 4 stars but not because of the quality of the tool. Dont you waste your money on any other channel locks these are the best and worth every dollar.

How in the world could you have the audacity to try and improve on the one tool that's been in every plumber's toolbox for the last 50 years?? I may someday regret saying these words - this Knipex plier product is better than Channellock pliers. Maybe I'll break the Knipex, maybe after being neglected in a ditch in the rain they will simply quit working. From where I stand now, the new product is better than the old one. Time will tell. Yes they're expensive. I haven't fully gotten used to them yet, but the one thing I have heard from other Knipex owners is that they grow legs more quickly than other tools. If folks be stealing them, then what's that say?? Must be good...
These are twice the price of any other brand of slip joint pliers and I would expect a perfectly made tool that passes a strict QA. I was a QA inspector for a major metal stamping manufacturer and understand that, if they follow strict procedures, there should be no reason for shipping something that is not up to the standard they claim to be.Out of the set of three pliers I received, I have no complaints about two of them: both the large and the small pliers. However the mid-size - 250mm does not close perfectly and has a little play in the joint. It is functional and surely will work, just not what I expect when I pay the premium for this tool.I am sorry to say that this is a typical case when a manufacturer goes from selling a specialty item to a small group of ... MoreThese are twice the price of any other brand of slip joint pliers and I would expect a perfectly made tool that passes a strict QA. QA can be very expensive and there is always a goal of keeping rejection to the minimum. I feel, in my case, they have chosen to relax the QA rather than fix the production process.
These pliars are so superior to others that they tend to disappear if not carefully controlled. I have been using them for more than 20 years and yet for some reason they just seem to go missing from time to time. But, I have been more than happy to pay the cost to replace them. Once you have used them, there is no going back. Nothing else even comes close. And some of my neighbors, in-laws, brothers, etc. must agree as they have come up in their inventory. Hmmmm!! Absolutely nothing comparable and you will not be disappointed. Just ask them.
I was really hesitant to purchase these because they’re not cheap. AT ALL. But, having used a coworkers for several months, I bit the bullet and at the time, Amazon had them on sale. I guarantee if you purchase these, they will be the only ones you ever reach for. I have not used any other pliers but these since buying them. I actually like them so much, I have two sets of these and bought a third pair of 8”. I have used my original 8” so much That I wore the teeth off the jaws. I used them for things I shouldn’t have but they worked great for everything. Anyhow, I contacted Knipex because they have a lifetime warranty and they sent me a new pair without any hesitation. I seriously doubt you’ll ever have to use the warranty unless you use them professionally but even then, it will be rare. So, off your on the fence, go ahead and do yourself the favor. And know they have an incredible warranty. Ditch the sloppy loose rusty skin pinching garbage you fight with every time you reach for them. Go with the best and throw out the rest.
I work as a boiler technician so I use pliers on a nearly daily basis. I've used them all...Channelock, Milwaukee (which are excellent), DeWalt, you name it. The Knipex Cobras are hands down the best. Everything about them screams quality. They are incredibly easy to use, easy to handle, strong, well made. I dropped a pair from the top of a 12 foot ladder and it was like nothing happened. If you are in the market for this type of plier and you want the best, look no further. They are absolutely worth every cent.
These are the best channel-locking type pliers I’ve ever owned. They’re also overpriced and overkill unless you’re in the trades and using them every day. A typical DIYer will be perfectly happy with a good set of “blue handle” Channel Locks or even similar Irwin pliers for 1/3rd the cost. And you’ll be a lot less upset when those less pricey pliers magically disappear from your work bench or wind up forgotten in your yard for a few weeks. True, you can brag to the neighbor about these fine Knipex beauties, but they really aren’t that much more effective than more mundane brands for most jobs.
