Simply the best motorcycle glove manufacturer in the world. I was unfortunate to have a car hit my arm going 60+mph whilst I was travelling 50 mph in the opposite direction. I when the ambulance arrived and when I got to A&E the doctors and paramedics mentioned multiple times how the scaphoid protectors are a genius invention and probably saved my hand and that the forearm/cuff protection saved my wrist and forearm. A hairline fracture and sprained wrist were all that came of something that the medical professionals told me would have been life changing had I not worn something as protective as the handroid mk3s I was wearing. When I was able to ride again the handroid mk5s were an obvious and easy purchase to make and I will only ever buy Knox gloves. Amazing gloves, unfortunately do not hold up to daily use
Use case: daily riding to/from work, occasional weekend rides, occasional long trips, occasional off-roading (10k+ miles a year)Durability: I'm on my 2nd pair these in 2 years. Both left & right gloves have large holes on the palm where the contact with the handlebar occurs. I e-mailed Knox about it and they stated they have "many customers still riding in edition 1 from 2009, although granted they will most likely not be wearing them every day."User experience: Incredible gloves, literally so comfortable I have forgotten I'm wearing them. Quality protection without sacrificing dexterity. The tightening system is a dream, and the gloves mold to your hand like nothing else.Overall: my hand is forced (no pun intended) to look for other gloves because shelling ... Better, but still frustratingly lacking
Compared to the older models, these look better, they're sleeker, and the boa only cuff is a big improvement. But, typical Knox, the inner craftsmanship leaves a lot to be desired. The excess leather pieces are large, prevalent and jagged. In a glove you can flip inside out and take care of it yourself, but you can't flip handroids. This is such a lazy way to lose points from your product. And for $250 in a short cuff glove, there should be a better effort to making the excess minimal and at the very least uniform. The exoskeleton and its hub is sleeker, but the finger pieces tend to catch on the hub when you curl and extend your fingers, instead of slotting in. Not a huge deal, just annoying. Also, while the new cuff design is way better than the outgoing, it ... Not a huge deal, just annoying. Also, while the new cuff design is way better than the outgoing, it doesn't quite work as intended. There are pieces of leather that are clearly supposed to rotate and slot into one another. What actually happens though is they bunch up as you twist the boa no matter what you do to avoid it. Great concept, just doesn't work. I think simple elastic connections between the panels would help them slot together while still opening up to a nice big entryway for your hand. All in it's a big improvement, just hard to stomach a manufacturer hiking the price a good bit and STILL care too little to give good interior build quality.... Expectations met
Exactly what I expected them to be. Good quality, tough in all the areas I want them to be, and they look mean. They don't air the best--on a hot summer day, your hands are going to sweat--but if you want this much protection, that's the price of doing business. Someone on here said about fraying threads, and yeah, some, but take a lighter to them. Find me something that doesn't fray a little. Mine were a little tight at purchase (XL, 9" hand around my palm) but they broke in nicely. I'd buy them again.... Show more

Review of Knox Handroid Mk5 Armour Gloves Black Mens - L
The Knox handroid gloves are a premium glove, no one can deny that but are they value for money? I’m not sure to be honest.I do like how comfortable they feel on, you definitely can feel the quality of the material used to make these gloves, the leather is soft but I still have confidence in it’s ability if the worse was to happen and I found myself going down the road. The gloves look great, feel great and I’m glad i purchased them, I just don’t think they command the £260 price tag.... Seam ripped right away
The left hand glove seam (top of hand, along index finger line) ripped open the second time I wore them, so 1 star. The fit was tight, but felt like it would break in nicely. I have big hands and long fingers, and this was the first glove I tired to exactly fit my finger length. I had high hopes, but those were dashed because of the poor manufacturing quality. Before the rip, my only complaint was the lack of ulna/wrist bone protection. The Taichi Raptor gloves I'm replacing have that, if not quite as protective otherwise. I've had the Raptors since 2015 and they've held up. I'm only replacing them because the lining's finally come loose and bunches when I put them on.Also, just noticed a loose thread when taking a picture of the rip. I expect a lot more ... They're okay - but I'll need more time to judge how the construction will hold up.
I've ridden these for a few hundred miles now in both dry and wet conditions. This is my first pair of Knox Handroids - I have never used the older versions or anything, so I can't really compare it to the previous generation. Here are a few observations from someone who decided to make this their first Handroid. The GOOD:- They look badass.- Extremely comfortable out of the box.- Materials feel high quality. The leather has a nice touch to it. You can tell care went into selecting the materials.- The palm sliders and exoskeleton provide you with some confidence. I just feel safer with this armor. The scaphoid protection is a proven system. I work with my hands for a living, and wearing these on my commute makes me feel good and safe.- My first ride with them ... The scaphoid protection is a proven system. I work with my hands for a living, and wearing these on my commute makes me feel good and safe.- My first ride with them took me through very heavy rain. In a torrential downpour, the palm still remained nice and grippy and I felt confident wearing them.- Did I mention these look badass?- The boa closure system is easy to work and just makes sense. The BAD:- My first ride, some of the stitching on the fingers started fraying. This isn't exactly confidence-inspiring. For the price you pay for these gloves, you'd think they would hold up better. They look fine after trimming and I haven't seen any flyway strings sticking out since, but it makes you wonder how long they'll last. Only time will tell.- Fit can be kind of wonky. Depending on how long your fingers are, you might want to size down and let the leather get broken-in to fit better.- Not super breathable, so this isn't suitable for extremely hot days, but it works for me where temperatures seldom get above 80 degrees Fahrenheit. There are better options out there for the money. But none of them look as cool as the Handroids. Why else would you be checking these out if you didn't think they were some of the coolest gloves around?... Show more

We'll see
Jury is still out, build quality is a lot lower than expected from a glove in this price range. Thumb is too long, not sure why knox insists on pointer finger length thumbs. Boa system is awesome. Was told to size up by multiple sources, had to size back down to my regular size (M). Fingers awkwardly shove your finger tips into the inner stitching right under your nail, pretty uncomfortable. Gloves are very hot, zero ventilation, only worn around the house so far but immediately after putting them on its like a sauna. Looks cool though.... Show more
