There are a number of very good poles available. Decided on these particular ones for their combination of reasonably light weight, strength and easy adjustment whilst on the go. I personally prefer the power lock type mechanism over the twist type.

So far only a few longer hikes on mixed terrain. They are sturdy, limited flex, the light weight is fantastic, and look great. Only caution is the carbon sends a little more impact on harder surfaces than my old aluminium poles. Oh, and buy the rubber hiking caps at the same time as the poles. The ones they come with are protective caps, not walking caps. Off to Larapinta next month, so will see how they perform over multi days.
