Koolatron 31L Grey Thermoelectric Iceless 12V Cooler or Warmer, Portable Travel Fridge

I’m taking this on the road in 3 weeks so will update my listing after. Cooling and heat settings both work. Cooler top lock is cheaply made and you need two hands to slide it to lock/unlock. Bought a universal A/C adapter that didn’t work so had to order OEM part, which may not arrive until after I leave. So if you need the A/C adapter right away you may be out of luck.

Looks at several models, and chose this one on the basis of several positive reviews. WE. LOVE. IT. Spent the extra money to purchase and adaptor so we could keep it running inside our hotel room when a fridge wasn't available. Was even able to keep ice most frozen by placing it right under the cooling vent.Don't know how it'll hold up over time, but we think the product is well designed and FAR superior to just a regular ice chest. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Good cooler, terrible service

This cooler works well. Replaces the need for ice, and is quite efficient considering the thin walls.There is no on-off switch, and the latch is a little wobbly. Not bad, not great.The customer service is terrible. The only person who will answer an email or pick up the phone is the guy in the warehouse. If you have any questions or require service, you may never get a response. I have been trying for almost 3 weeks.

Great Product, Lousy Packing

I really like my cooler, but buyers, beware! There is an ongoing problem with the packaging of this cooler. It comes shipped in a flimsy card board box with no protection about the actual cooler. None at all. My hinge is broken on the cooler door, and according to reviews I have read online, other people have had the same issue! This is an easy fix for the seller. Pack it properly.

Koolatron Kargo Kooler - Big, but not TOO big

I've always liked the thermoelectric coolers, having used the "full-sized" cooler and the 6-pack cooler for many years. Bought this as a replacement for the big Igloo unit (finally wore it out and wife wanted something without years of staining).This unit is large enough to hold a full size gallon of milk and other stuff (dozen eggs, etc.) But it doesn't overwhelm the back seat like the 40 gallon cooler.The AC adapter is well worth the money to pre-cool, use as mini-fridge. Great for party time - cooled drinks without the melted ice slop.

More than we expected!

We've begun a trek to visit as many National Parks as we can and after visiting Acadia in Maine we decided we needed something better than the standard ice-chest cooler for longer trips. We bought the Kargo 33 Quart because we liked the idea of the split-lid design, and the fact it can be used up-right like a small fridge. Our first use last weekend was great as we traveled from Ohio to Mass for a wedding. The outside temp was in the 90s and even with several stops the cooler cooler was off, it maintained a good temp in the 40s all the way. We bought the Koolatron 110v to 12v converter for inside use and it was great for pre-cooling the cooler before we left. The converter does get a bit hot. My thermometer read around 100 degrees, but I don't think it is too bad as long as you keep it clear and open for best air-flow. Someone commented on the noise level, but I really didn't even notice it and it was sitting on the seat right next to me most the trip.

Not good Cooler

I haven't even plugged it in yet and I can already tell it's poorly constructed. I have to put my full body weight on it to hold down the lid while sliding the slide lock into place. While sliding it into place I have to push it in as hard as possible other wise it will not latch and it will pop off the bottom. Buyers remorse already. Thinking I'm going to return it.

Works great!

I drive semi with a sleeper cab which is essentially camping every day. It is not practice to use a cooler and ice so having a mini fridge was the best solution.I did lots of online research and the Kooktron 12v seems to have the best overall reviews for refrigerator life, functionality and space. It's been 6 weeks and I'm loving it. I start out Monday with frozen dinners and by Wednesday night they are just starting to be thawed - food lasts a good long time.
