Korg has out done themselves. I have had a Korg keyboard in the past and they were pretty good but this just blows the past keyboards out of the water. It is a little difficult to figure out with some aspects but I always love a challenge. The sounds, the sets, the drums, everything is all I ever wanted and more and for the most part it is very easy to learn and play. This keyboard would be best for live performance but still has a little bit of everything. WOW!!! That's all I can say. Would like a little more in depth on learning certain things, namely songbook and creating new styles and keyboard sets and such but well worth over the money I have paid for it.

With a large library of detailed voices, the KORG PA1000 can cover virtually any and all genres. KORG's DNC system allows for convincing and expressive reproduction of acoustic instruments. In addition, the joystick and assignable switches add nuances and realism (electric guitar feedback is really fun to play with). Lastly, with the great sounding onboard speakers, guitarist (like me) can plug in and make full use of virtual amp models and guitar effects that are also included. Great keyboard!

This beast is difficult to master but once you do ... LOOK OUT!Expect virtually no assistance as you begin. Probably because very few have ever tackled it.When you do teach yourself, it becomes very natural so korg service people can not understand what you don't yet know.If you are prepared to spend time (a lot of time) with this, you will be impressed with the results.Once you master the use of 'pads' and intros you can fire your band.The jazz and Latin preloads are great.Another note: if you have developed shows using a pa300, they do NOT transfer to this keyboard.I lost hundreds of hours of work due to this. Korg should have developed a translator.

This is my first Korg Keyboard and I love it. I had always been Roland and Yamaha, looked at reviews, heard the sounds and capabilities and chose the Korg PA1000. Still learning some of its capabilities and enjoying the whole process. This has been a great buy. I had to purchase online due to the whole stay at home thing, it was easy, sales rep was fantastic helping me through the process and shipment was very fast. Ordered on a Saturday and received the keyboard by Tuesday of that next week.
I bought this to use on my Duo gigs Monday-Thursday (on Friday-Sunday we have a Trio). The layout is very logical and usable. I really like the virtual drawbars on the organ, the electric piano patches, and the aftertouch. And being able to create new Styles from a SMF is a big plus. BUT... the acoustic piano patches sound like a toy! They SUCK.Through the onboard speakers they are passable (which is probably what they are voiced for), but through a PA, they are AWFUL!!! I tried them Mono and Stereo, new cables, different EQs. through several PA systems (we own a production company, so I had LOTS of choices) but NOTHING made the pianos sound decent. Meanwhile, my Roland, Yamaha, and VSTs all sounded great through the same systems.I REALLY wanted this keyboard to ... I'm getting into my later years of life and I wanted to consolidate my musical equipment. I traded in a lot of equipment ranging from guitars to monitors and I was treated very fairly by the staff at the Forest Hills Sam Ash. I walked away with smaller powered monitors and my Korg Pa1000. It's a couple of years old now but Korg is still producing updates and new styles and sounds. I expect to be using this wonderful keyboard for many years to come. You don't need my review of the keyboards, there are tons of reviews online. It's a powerhouse and has more features than I will ever be able to use.

The instrumental sounds are very realistic and in particular the Hammond rotary speaker simulation. Operation of the menus is difficult to get used to as it is quite different from the Genos, but in the end I think it will be easier to work with. In built speakers are excellent and would be enough for a small venue.
I purchased 2 korg pa1000 brand new from guitar center from different locations. The first one I purchasedt kept on freezing randomly about every hour of use. I exchanged it for another pa1000 and that one had an unresponsive screen right out of the box. 2 new items and both come out faulty. Korg needs to adress that there is something gone wrong. The pa900 is very stable never had it freeze so I am going to stick with old reliable. It's a shame because the pa1000 has a lot of extra features and ifnit were stable I would love to use it. However, until Korg makes a new update or recalls this product I am not purchasing it again.
This keyboard has a great depth of features and capabilities. It will take you as far as you want to go. Great sounds, very usable styles, and an amazing sequencer. It's a great workstation in its own right, but with the auto accompaniment and songbook features as well as dual audio/midi players with crossfade volume control, it's a veritable DJ/party machine. Oh, and the TC Helicon voice processing and guitar input and effects processor are two more amazing reasons to buy this model.I have been a Yamaha arranger user for 20 years but the newest Korg pa models are mind-blowingly good.
