Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer - Tone 04 N

I have the privilege of being in the beauty industry for 30+ years and the opportunity to experience hundreds of cosmetic products. The Kosas tagline is “Good Makeup, Not No Makeup” and its ethos is makeup for skincare freaks while having a delightful sensorial experience. This clean line is impressive and all three of the products tested were a success. I would recommend color matching the products in person if at all possible, there is an impressive plethora of shades (which is wonderful but somewhat daunting at the same time) and finding your perfect shade could actually be an enjoyable process because once you find your own you will love it.The texture is creamy but not greasy and covers most that ails you. It has impressive staying power, while some dissipation on a hot California day was expected it remained relatively consistent without upkeep even after 8 hours of wear. It is designed with a doe foot applicator for an easy and gentle application. I had success by layering, letting the layer dry in between applications and using the fingertips to lightly tap into the skin. I like to stay true to my skin tone, not lighter, this formula dries down flat but the skin does not appear dehydrated. The results are a brighter dewy appearance. While it covers nicely with a pretty illuminated effect there was some settling into the lines and accentuating them, perhaps this would be most suitable for a more youthful eye.

I have used it on different ages, and different skin types and I have found that I prefer using it on combination skin the most.As someone that is in her late 40s with dry skin, I don't really love it for myself; but I've been very impressed with it on many of my clients. The color I chose online is not a great match for me either - a bit too golden/yellow; but that's not to say that it isn't a great product with a wide shade range.I definitely think that the creamy finish, medium to full coverage and creaseproof wear of this concealer makes it superior to many of it's competitors on the market. I just might not recommend it for someone with mature, dry skin. Overall however, I am impressed with it as a whole, and will continue to use it on many of my clients professionally.

My first impression is that I love the texture of this product, which is visibly plumping in that it sits with the skin, not sinking into it. I chose the 3.20 (light with neutral olive undertones) color and could have also gone one shade light for a brighter look. Unlike foundation, concealer is a little more versatile in that you can choose a color that is either natural and blends with your skin tone or one that is brighter based on personal preference. I applied the concealer as I normally would - since I have darker, slightly sunken under-eye circles, I applied one full swipe under each eye blending out and upwards. Among the three methods for blending: medium density concealer brush, damp beauty blender, and tap with ring finger - I found a combination of the methods works best. It is truly a medium finish, so I used a color corrector and layered for more coverage however it still did not give the full coverage look I was hoping for. I like that the concealer did not crease throughout the day and looked best when I very lightly set it with a loose powder using a small fluffy powder brush. Overall this is a great product for someone looking for a brightening and lightweight, medium-coverage concealer with skincare benefits.

A Must Have!!

I love how light and blendable the Kosas Revealer Concealer is and I was honestly impressed with how well it did on my skin! I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it but now I love it! I use concealer to highlight/sculpt and as a base for eyeshadow. The claims are true for being crease free - I applied this on my slightly hooded eyelids and under my eyes where I usually would get a lot of creasing and after setting, nothing budged! My shadow stayed on nicely without movement and my under eyes stayed smooth and cake free! I used a beauty blender to blend it all out (I usually use a brush but forgot to do half and half) and I love how it looked. As someone who’s blemish prone and oiler during the summer months, this is going to be hands down one of my go to concealers! I didn’t experience any caking with other products I used like powders and creams and a little goes a very long way in my opinion. I felt like I added a bit much, but it’s always trial and error when trying a product for the first time! Kosas is making me fall in love more and more with every product I try from them! I have a habit of pulling very late nights and it has been showing up under my eyes now more than ever.The minute I opened the tube of this concealer, I knew I was going to be in love. I could feel how thicky and creamy the formula was, so I knew it would provide great coverage…and I was right! The concealer glided onto my skin so smoothly and with such ease. This was such a relief because usually the concealers I use are so quick to dry that you can barely finish blending them in before they set to your skin. I first tried blending the creamy concealer into my undereye area with just my fingers, and surprisingly it worked perfectly! There was zero caking, and my eyes instantly looked brighter. The formula absorbed seamlessly into my skin and I looked like I just had a full week’s worth of sleep!I would recommend this concealer to virtually anyone looking for an absolutely great product that blends well, conceals imperfections beautifully and is a fair price-point.

Like the Revealer foundation, I know it is advertised as a medium coverage, but I feel it is a full coverage concealer. While it doesn’t feel heavy, it does provide a heavier look and I did notice some creasy under my eyes, but it was very smooth and I did not have to tug at the sensitive skin under my eyes to move and build the product. So, I suggest that with this concealer, a little goes a long way, especially if you want that dewy, natural look. I definitely recommend this concealer and I love having it in my kit for the skin benefits and the coverage!

I have tried many high-end labels to drug store brands of concealers and foundations alike and many I find are just not well formulated for mature skin and often I opt out of them altogether to avoid the settling and aging effect they can give my skin. The idea of makeup is to enhance the natural beauty what of what we’ve already got and this does just that. I call it added security as in feeling secure! When we look our best, it can reflect in how we project ourselves to others and even in situations. This is something that can be worn daily under your foundation or simply as needed when you want to conceal to have extra flawless looking skin. I tried using the formula three different methods. 1st was the concealer brush method just applying a little product to my brush and blending out beneath my eyes and t-zone, the second method was using just my fingers and the 3rd method was using a beauty blender sponge that was slightly moistened. Though any three methods will work I think my preferred was using a combination of my fingers with the beauty blender to lay it down with a flawless finish.

I checked my order history and sure enough, I bought my current tube in March 2022, this thing is over 8 months old. The most disappointing thing is that I still have a good quarter of the tube left that I now can't use. Looking closely, I can see a tiny bit of product separation (think sedimentary rocks) but the smell/texture never changed. When I went to check the price point, I noticed it's gone up. It used to be $37 in Canada and now it's $40.I can't justify that price point for a product that 1) will inevitably go bad before it runs out, even with everyday wear so 2) I'm wasting product and not getting my full money's worth. I bought the NYX serum concealer for $20 and so far it performs just as well. Save ur $ and ur skin, "clean" seemingly just means "buy more, buy often".

It is also a good option for people who are texture adverse as it does not feel like anything is on you when it dries down. The only issue I had was I did get a bit of mascara transfer, but I have oily skin and wear contacts and most all hydrating concealers will do that to me. I was also very impressed with the ingredient list, very active for a product with decent coverage. Most products with coverage have a hard time containing active ingredients. I LOVE that it has peptides and hyaluronic acid, but those have become more standard in concealers along with the caffeine this contains. What I was shocked by was the arnica and pink algae. As a pale girl who bruises easily I can tell you arnica is a miracle worker!!! And many of my favorite eye creams have algae of some sort in them, it seems to be an effective anti-aging in boosting collagen and fighting those nasty free radicals. This looks to me to be a pretty good list of ingredients for those with allergies, for instance my best friend cannot have anything with latex in it, or latex derivatives like shea butter, and is able to use this product.
