The KÜHL RADIKL PANT features a cutting-edge and patent-pending combination of an exoskeleton woven cloth frame with flexible, alternate knit panels. The result is a revolutionary pant that delivers maximum technical performance and ultimate comfort. The woven frame creates structure to give the RADIKL PANT the appearance, strength and performance of a traditional hiking pant. While the world sees structure and durability, you will feel the soft, flexible, and comfortable knit fabric panels. Located at key points of contact and flexion - crotch, yoke, front pockets, and side panel from waistband to just below the knee - the knit panels create the feel and movement of a sweat pant. The RADIKL PANT has six total pockets, including knee pockets. The left stealth knee pocket is smaller for a closer fit for your smartphone.

Best Advice for the BWCA

The best advice available for canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area is: when you arrive, put on your water shoes, and go stand in the water. Always put your feet in the water when arriving or leaving a portage. This prevents slipping on the rocks. For 16 days my pants' cuffs were wetted many times a day. These wonderful pants dried promptly. Further, they cleaned readily after hikes through muddy portages. Best of all, they showed nary a sign of wear after much rugged use.As side notes: the fit is wonderful--roomy and comfortable. The pockets hold gear well so that nothing falls out during the contortions of canoeing, building fires, and using the latrine.Wearing these pants when trekking into the BWCA is the second best advice I can give.

Best fitting and most functional pants ever

Best fitting, best looking pants I have ever owned. I have strong thighs and a muscled butt with a fit waist. It is impossible to find pants that work. Pants that don't constrict my legs have way too loose of a waist, but the right sized waist will usually mean the pants squeeze my thighs and crush my you know what if I have to squat or bend. The stretchy crotch in these fixes all of that, plus they reinforced the knees I usually wear out in one summer. Not only are they great for outdoors and work, they are a seamless addition to nights out or dressy affairs. I will be buying other colors.

This is my second pair of Kuhl pants. The first pair purchased 4 years ago were much higher quality than this pair. I'm beyond disappointed in the cheaply made quality of these pants. I expected more from Khul. The materials and construction just feel cheap, like something from Walmart to be honest... The most frustrating thing about these pants is the zipper...it WILL NOT stay zipped. I've tried wearing a belt to help but it does no good. I literally have to continually zip these pants up constantly, every few minutes, which makes them useless for work or hiking... Not a $100 pair of pants by any means. Basically an overpriced pair of cheaply constructed pants that are priced based on brand name rather than quality.... These were my go to pants, but now they are ... MoreThis is my second pair of Kuhl pants. The first pair purchased 4 years ago were much higher quality than this pair. Great for hiking. Can't handle regular climbing.
1 May 2023

Picked these pants up about two years ago. Have bouldered and hiked in them quite a bit, and found them very comfortable for office work as well. However, the rear pockets deteriorated relatively quickly, have had holes in the back left pocket for almost a year now, plus a hole in the knee. However, the main issue is they separated on me at the rear middle seam. They separated by being stretched apart and separating horizontally across the left seat of the pants during a small fall climbing. I believe this was due to multiple stints in a climbing harness, and the leg loops pulling the pant legs from the seat of the pants being held by the waist section of the harness. Expected a bit more out of them, and especially expected the pockets to last longer. Normally, my ... MorePicked these pants up about two years ago. I recognize that climbing is pretty tough on pants, so I'm still rating it a 3, and honestly, 3.5 would be closer to the mark. I wouldn't get them again for lead climbing, just can't take it. Bouldering is probably fine.

If only they didn’t stain so easily
1 September 2023

I’ve had a few pairs of Radikl shorts and now a pair of Radikl pants. I (foolishly) have kept buying them because they fit me so well, have great pockets, and feel good. Your , I’m done with them because they deeply absorb just about anything that lands on them, leaving a permanent stain. Yes, I’m probably sloppier (less civilized?) than most humans, so take that into account when you consider whether or not to purchase. I’d give these 5 stars if they didn’t stain so easily. Or should I say if I didn’t stain them so easily.

Levi's Replacements!
25 May 2023

Great pants. I think Kuhl is replacing my Levi's. Exceptional fit and feel- I now have a summer and winter Kuhl pants. I love the side thigh pocket, so easy to get phone in/out of. And, at last I can get the cell phone away from "other body parts". And they're pretty comfortable pants to boot. Great for those time I head into the office, or just wrenching on old sports cars. Just hoping the infamous unsnap issue doesn't snap open.

Most Versatile Outdoor Pants Ever!
23 March 2023

Had trouble finding my size after guessing wrong on size. Exchanged my 33W x 34L for a 34 x 34 in walnut. Love these pants that have great feeling materials, snap closure, articulated knee and those stretch panels in upper back, side of legs and groin make for unparalleled comfort and movement. Price was good (pre Christmas) but I’ve never had to wait 6 weeks for a turn-around on an exchange (that I had to pay for). Reached out and heard that the team was short staffed but a month and a half wait was a bit ridiculous!

Own Multiple Pair, My Favorite Pants
18 March 2023

I own several pair of Kuhl Radikl's and no longer want to wear any of the other pants in my closet. I bought these to wear at work (office work), but these are so comfortable I wear them in my off time, too. The leg and knee portions don't restrict movement and I prefer wearing these over jeans. I love the pockets and the cell phone pocket is perfect for the largest cell phones. I only wish REI carried all the colors Kuhl has on their website. I am 6'0", 185lbs, and the 34x32 fit great. I regularly wear cowboy boots and hiking boots and the ankle portion of the pant legs are wide enough to allow for both.

Perfect travel pant.
3 May 2023

The soft fabric is both durable and comfortable. I’m wearing the charcoal color way which is forgiving to travel dust and dirt. They are casual, but not sloppy, so they are presentable for most restaurants and other non-transit activities. The side pockets are handy for very brief storage of a phone or paper documents as needed but I would not use them to store valuables as I move about while traveling as they will be easily picked. If you want to travel light and you are looking for a versatile pant, this is a good choice.

Snaps lead to enlightenment

These are the rare pants that can lead one to enlightenment. These pants are light for hot weather, with best in category comfort, and well made in every respect except one: The snap is likely to come undone, as it loosens with wear.As we age, we struggle with getting trapped into set ideas. The snap reminds us that we live in a complex world we don't often repair for ourselves. We're surrounded by flawed engineering, where the prototypes worked but the design failed to survive production tolerances. The snap is easy enough to repair, inviting us down a path where we reconnect with the physical world around us.A snap is a malleable pair of metal parts, that can be adjusted with less work than sewing on a button. The internet abounds with instructions for banging metal snaps to fix them, but this too is not a mindful approach. Instead, take a large C-clamp and compress the male part of the snap, tuning it to close securely with exactly the ease one desires. Paying attention to the rotational angle as one tightens the C-clamp, one can apply measured adjustments. One feels a great burden lift from one’s soul, with every part turn of the C-clamp.
