L'Occitane Shea Butter Intensive Hand Balm 150ml

When I tell you I’m obsessed with this hand cream, it’s an understatement! I have 4 of the full size tubes and 12 of the travel size! I keep one full size on my bedside table and one at work. And I ALWAYS have a travel size in my purse. I bought this when it first launched at Loccitane and have never stopped. This contains 25% Shea butter and it keeps my hands soooo hydrated and soft you’d think I’ve never worked a day in my life! lol I’ve found that if you use too much it can be very greasy and you’ll have to wait for it to absorb. The packaging is a little stiff, but Loccitane sells a key that you use to roll the tube with to ensure you get every bit out. I give this away as gifts every Christmas, birthday and “ just because” every chance i get. I’ll never use another handcream. Also, the scent is just like the original so that’s always a plus. A must-have to prevent chapped and flaky hands

This was the only thing that kept my hands from turning into alligator claws during that awkward time when we had to work in office again but were still wearing masks and using hand sanitizer every 20 minutes. I still keep this in my nightstand and put it on every night before going to sleep. Along with normal hand cream during the day, my hands stay healthy and not chapped, which is saying something coming from a germaphobe who washes her hands too much.

A tad greasy but overall the best hand cream ever

I love this product and will continue to purchase it as my go to hand cream. My hands feel soft and hydrated for HOURS after applied, and a little goes a very long way. Because of how concentrated the shea butter is, I can even use it on my knees, elbows, and feet and feel immediate hydration that lasts for a long time. My only complaint is the formula is a bit greasy. Now it may be due to the fact that I religiously use hand creams (after every handwash, and especially on days I work around a ton of papers to prevent papercuts) so my skin my not as "thirsty" as the intended selling market's skin so I always have leftover residue on my hands. I will work it into the skin for about 5 or so minutes then pat dry with a tissue and good to go! Disappointed

This was my favourite hand cream/ balm. I loved it. I loved it so much I switched from Clarins. I have used Clarins hand-cream for as long as I can remember (we are talking decades) but I wanted a product that guarantees no animal testing but still soothed the dry itchy skin on my hands and found this. It was perfect healed my hands and sank in quickly. The formula has changed and although it still does the job it takes around and hour to sink in and the gorgeous smell has gone. I will be looking for another hand balm. Please tell me you haven't changed the footbalm because I'll have to find something else to replace that too.

Game-changer product for dry cracked hands

I have suffered with environmental dermatitis for over a decade. I've used every product - medicated and high street - under the sun. After having no joy with GP prescribed steroidal products I went in search of something that would ease the annual winter flare ups. After a few years of using the L'Occitane hand scrubs and 20% shea hand creams I found the 25% Shea Intensive Hand Balm ... GAME CHANGER! My hands have never been so soft or resilient to the changing weather. I've made it from December to March with no soreness dryness much reduced and no cracking/splitting of the skin. I posted a before and after picture of my hands and my friends couldn't believe the improvement. From what they posted in reply you now have quite a few new customers!

Great cream

After trying too many creams, this one is the best. Instantly nourishes the skin. Not greasy. Noticeable difference on the appearance of skin. The only downside is the cap. It is a fun game getting the cap back on. It'd be great if they could create a flip cap. My mom refuses to use it because of the packaging- too frustrating.

Great hand balm

Love this hand balm, I have very dry skin and this does the trick. I have used quite a few previously and they do not provide the same moisturization. I am hooked! A little pricey. Only con is the tube, an aluminum material that pierces holes in the sides causing the cream to disperse out nearer the end of use. Won't deter me from continuing to purchase.

I would give it a zero if I could.

The smell is just awful. It smells like baby powder along with something else I just can't place. I tried to return it after a single use along with the other shea items I purchased and it keeps telling me the order is not eligible for a refund. I should still be in the time frame to return this order. Then I tried to contact loccitane and some how the email wouldn't go throw. I will not be buying anything else from this company.

My pandemic hand saviour!

During the pandemic my hands went downhill so fast with the constant hand washing and sanitizing. I tried almost every hand cream out there and nothing has actually worked to repair my hands like this hand balm! I was on the fence about this product for a while because paying this much $ for a hand cream seemed ridiculous to me, but it’s worth every penny! A little goes a long way and I love the buttery silky texture. The tube contains a lot of product, too. I rub this into my hands before crawling into bed and wake up to smooth soft looking hands. It penetrates so deep into the skin that even after washing my hands they look and feel soft! The cons: takes a while to rub in and absorb. Wow, it seems like all of the "new, clean charter" reformulations of the Shea products have an offensive cat pee/ ammonia smell, and an off-putting, greasy finish, nothing like how they used go be :(Almost every new reformulated shea butter product code ending in 22/23 feels and smells this way, so, be warned before buying.
