I've been using this face cream for years and was alarmed the other day to find out it's now a completely different face cream. The old formulation was rich, non-greasy, and had an amazing smell. The new cream has a much thinner and more watery consistency (more like the light version of this moisturizer). The scent is also not the same; maybe more alcohol? No longer the amazing scent of the old version. Will sadly need to find another face cream. L'occitane: PLEASE bring back the old formula!

I have used this product since I discovered it in 2016. My most recent purchase came in and it changed significantly - the formula is vastly different and I'm not convinced it even has the stated amount of shea butter in it since it's more of a liquidy lotion now - it is very similar to the other comforting cream in this line with less Shea butter (the old formulation of the cream was always more "solid" and melted in like a dream). The new formula immediately gave me some nasty breakouts. Please please please bring back your old formula!!! Please listen to your long term customer base... I can't even use the new one so I'll need to find another moisturizer. Extremely disappointed in the product and waste of money since this is going in the trash.

This new formula is most definitely NOT improved. It stinks. Literally, stinks. If you are sensitive to smells, do not purchase this product. The texture is also different and I can tell a difference in how dry my skin has been since purchasing it. I am extremely disappointed in this and hope the company will consider going back to the old formula. If they do, I will happily throw this one away and purchase a new one.

Imagine my surprise when ordering this that I now need to sit at work all day long smelling this added scent that made me feel like I just took a bath in flowers. Ever since, I have religiously purchased and utilized this cream and this cream alone. It is a lifesaver, and my pores are elated every am and pm upon application. The ONLY reason I docked this product down to 4 stars is because of the most recent box I received. This batch is a little strange, and I can't determine what the issue is. Its consistency is different than before, and it reeks of expired perfume. Not sure what happened this time around, but I noticed the website says "new and improved formula." I love this product. It is the perfect blend of moisturizers, without a greasy feeling even after a long day. My skin feels so soft. I've seen the comments on the scent, but I don't have the same opinion. I think it's a very light, subtle scent, nearly unscented. For me, that's perfect. I don't want to smell my face cream all day.
I've logged on to shop for this once amazing moisturizer that I've used years ago. I decided to read the reviews since the packaging had changed since I've used it. #1 listen to your long standing customer because I can assure you that there's plenty on awesome brands that would serve their skins needs: Sunday Riley CEO, Tata Harper for sure, STRUM, and the list goes on. In one of your replies you cited that the decision was based on what's going on out in the industry sort of speak. Well how old is that because brands have certainly been giving the Dewey glow now for years. Go back to the lab, stop cutting to save the bottom line. Listen to your customers!
I tried the sample size and ordered the tub after trying that. However, after using for 3 days it caused an allergy on my face. On deeper inspection this contains everything thats a possible irritant including fragrance that is so strong that its lingering behind on towels and pillow cases for days. Will not use it on my face maybe use on hands and feet just not to waste it. The price is not worth the performance.
I so agree with the other recent reviews. This cream has been a go-to for ages - not just for me but for both my teenage daughters as well. We have always stocked up and relied on it and the new formula is so disappointing - the texture and scent are just weird and unexpected. I've especially relied on this product since the shea overnight moisture mask was discontinued several years back, which was so sad as I used that for YEARS. Why discontinue/change a good thing? I'm still using because l'occitane products are simply the best and we use everything - face wash, serum, eye cream, mosturizers, etc. But I'm pretty sad about this most recent change :(
