Perfect timing is what it was the moment I received a trial for the L’Oreal Elvive Colour Protect range. All to complement each other; the shampoo, conditioner and protecting conditioning spray. I was in luck, my hair was needing protection, continual shine and awesomeness. The sleek, red, flip-top bottle of the shampoo stands upright and used from the top, whereas the conditioner is flip-top base down, my guess to minimise confusion in the dark? This superb foaming formula is brilliant for not only eliminating dirt, grime, hairspray, sweat etc effectively but also by protecting the hair not only from pollution but also from the number one damaging element…the sun, with UVA and UVB filters, the perfect protection from the harsh NQ location in which I reside. Having used this range for 2 weeks now I can honestly say there is beautiful shine/radiance, softness, depth to my colour, but seriously this all does happen from the first time you use these products. Not only is the shampoo a hero for the above traits but I have to say that the scent is absolutely beautiful and fresh with a touch of sensual, just like the conditioner and conditioning spray. My daughters even comment on how beautiful my hair smells (great opportunity to get heaps of hugs – it’s all in the hair!). A little goes a very long way therefore its great value for money.

I love to dye my hair but as so many people faces problems after dying tgeir hair so do I . My hair has become so damaged ,rough and frizzy. They used to look so bad . I have tried so many shampoos and conditioners but not a single product worked for my hair . Then finally one day I found this product on sale and I grabed shampoo and conditioner together. I started using it and my hair became so soft smooth and silky after the first wash. The conditioner works wonder. I would recommend to use same shampoo and conditioner at a time . They are a lifesaver for me . My hairfall stopped to much extent. My hair are always detangled after washing them. Its a little bit pricey so you have to keep an eye on sales otherwise its amazing overall . A classic

Great reliable shampoo that cleanses and leaves hair feeling good (not coated in silicone). Nice smell and good lather. Ingredients virtually identical to very high end and expensive shampoos from other L’Oréal owned brands! Highly recommended, and I am a professional hairdresser with over 10 years of experience.

Absolutely Brilliant

I cannot rave about this enough! I went from long natural brown hair to a bob with lots and lots of blonde highlights and I wanted a shampoo and conditioner that would keep my colour salon new and this has exceeded every expectation I had. My colour looks exactly the same weeks and weeks later. I am left with high shine, ridiculously soft and amazing smelling hair. This should be winning awards. Salon quality at home for a reasonable price.

Absolutely brilliant

I went from long brown natural hair to a Bob with loads and loads of blonde highlights so I wanted something that would protect my colour and keep my hair healthy. My colour hasn’t stayed the same since I left the salon after weeks and weeks of washes. My hair has shine, is ridiculously soft and tangle free, smells amazing and the colour is as new. Brilliant product for brilliant price. Salon hair at home.

Doesn't work at all

I'm not someone to leave reviews often, especially not negative ones, but I feel like I need to warn people to not buy the colour protecting shampoo. It did nothing to protect my blue hair colour and in fact actively washed out a lot of it whenever I used it, even more than a non colour protecting shampoo would. The shower water looked like I was washing the dye off after I'd just dyed it. I checked the ingredients and this is HIGH in sulfates, it's the second ingredient. I wrongly assumed ir wouldn't have much in if any. Sulfates are awful for dyed hair, especially in large amounts as it will strip the colour right out and I have no idea what L'Oreal were thinking. Dried out hair

I was excited to use this shampoo because of all the good reviews. I've been trying to use sulfate free shampoos, and was also a little skeptical about a silicone as the 3rd ingredient, but I thought it would make my hair all soft. Instead I've found it really drying. I blow dried my hair after using and it went really frizzy with loads of flyaways. Not testing enough to see if it preserves colour but safe to say I'll be going back to my sulfate free shampoo.

Good fragrance but not for delicate hair

At first I was positively surprised by the very pleasant scent. However, my initial enthusiasm diminished when my (admittedly quite delicate) hair after washing very quickly began to become greasy and flaky. Therefore, for simple hair certainly recommendable, for me personally unfortunately after multiple use without improvement rather less.

I've used for many years - not sure how to assess

It's white in colour so it doesn't add unwanted shades to the hair. I use it in tandem with the Colour Protect shampoo on my salon-blonded hair. It's good value when on discount. I'm not certain how to evaluate it. My hair is fine and prone to tangling; this product makes it easier to comb when wet. As I always use it when I wash my hair, I'm not sure what the colour would be like without it.

Smells Beautiful

My natural colour hair is medium to dark brown. I don't normally write reviews, but felt I need to about this product. I have been having my hair professionally coloured since March 2018 and slowly over the last 20 months my hair has got lighter and lighter after using my normal shampoo which supposedly protected coloured hair, but because it contained sulphars this stripped the colour and my natural colour. So in September this year I had my hair professionally coloured again (probably the 6th colour treatment) after my hairdresser agreed something was not right. I leave them both on for 5 minutes and I have got to admit my hair has not lost any of its colour I cannot see any greys coming through I am now considering cancelling my next colour appointment in December. I wanted to write this review because I wish I had this information before I originally started colouring my hair.
