L'Oreal Elvive Shampoo Total Repair 5 300ml

I was fortunate to receive this as part of an exquisite Beauty Box of items to test along with the conditioner.Admittedly I was dubious as I am a salon products woman and have been for 15 years....ironically a L'ORÉAL brand, Kerastasè. ..so I wasn't convinced.But.This shampoo delivered in EVERY way!!The scent is subtle and grown up. To be honest I wasn't a fan of this shampoo and conditioner combo at first. My hair is very thick and curly and I find it difficult to find hair care that suits my needs. After the first couple of applications I didn't notice much of a difference to my hair. I continue to use this for a couple of weeks and it started to make a big difference to the appearance and feel of my hair. The frizz had reduced, my hair was feeling softer than usual and there was a lot more shine. The product also has a lovely scent making it enjoyable to use. This product is fabulous for the price as well. Under $10 for effective hair care is very hard to come across. I would recommend this to those who are looking to improve dry/damaged hair and want a bit of shine. From the first use of this shampoo I saw a difference in my hair. My hair now feels weightless, soft and has a lovely shine. The fragrance of the shampoo is subtle but still leaves my hair smelling nice. Not too overpowering which is great. Before using this I was having problems with my hair going greasy quickly, but since trying this shampoo my hair can last at least 3 days before needing washing again. The product is lasting me a long time so far as I only need to use a small amount to get a generous lather. No 2nd wash is needed like I have done with other shampoos. Would strongly recommend to others who want their hair to feel and look healthy and nourished.

For me, this was just a miss. The smell is really off putting, think the old people smell that people sometimes describe. I don't really want my hair to smell like my nan. Did nothing for brittle hair, lack of volume or shine. Just really disappointed because the cosemetics side of Loreal is very good.

Amazing!

Very good. Smells nice. Application is lovely. Does not leave your hair feeling immediately stripped once shampoo is rinsed. Good value for money when bought on promotion. For someone with oily hair like my self would think this product is not for them given that is is very moisturising. But this is not the case, it is one of the very few shampoos that do not strip the hair and leaves it clean and shiny. I have dry ends and oily roots, after using this shampoo i have clean fresh smelling hair AND ROOTS thats last for three or four days as well as soft nourished ends! Love! Love! Love!

Genie in a Bottle

I have used this for a year now and I CAN HONESTLY SAY, THIS WORKS! I dont really have damaged hair but I do use heat styling products without a heat protector. I use this and the conditoner to wash it off and it is just splendid! I can’t describe how great this works! When I wash it off it leaves behind this amazing, luxurious scent that stays on and when you leave it to air dry...... IT IS SOOO LOVELY TO TOUCH. I would definitely recommend this to everyone regardless their hair type

Not for me...

I have long, fine and dry hair. Basically the hair type that this shampoo range promises to help, is the type of hair I have. I bought both the shampoo and conditioner on offer at Boots a few weeks ago. After 1st use of both, my hair felt ok, a little dry but felt very clean and smelt great. Since then, after every use it has left my hair very dry and straw like, even though I've used the conditioner. My scalp has become dry and extremely itchy too! I'm not a high street snob and often alternate between high street and high end hair products, unfortunately, this particular range has not been suitable for me and I will stop using immediately.Additional note: I do have coloured hair and unsure if this would affect the effectiveness of this shampoo as it doesn't say ... MoreI have long, fine and dry hair. Smells amazing!

Absolutely love this shampoo, and I’m so pleased it’s still around as I know companies have a terrible habit of discontinuing products after a number of years, much to the disappointment of loyal customers! For me, the best thing about the full restore 5 range is the amazing smell! Also it has a creamy thick lather and lovely texture to use. Please keep this range going L’Oréal! I also used to love the royal jelly range until that was discontinued. That also had an amazing smell. Thankfully I found this one which I love.

I can honestly say that I have tried almost all shampoo's out there including all of the L'Oreal ones but I can never settle on a certain one. I gave this shampoo a try and did not have high expectations to be honest but was I surprised. I did the old lather rinse repeat and conditioned The scent was good and not overpowering, gave a nice lather and just felt nice to use. Once washed, I blow dried and instantly noticed my hair had finally got some life back into it. It looked healthy and shiny and dare I say sleek and quite youthful for the first time in a long time (just had baby number 2 a few months ago so struggling with my hair for quite some time now).
