L'Oreal Infallible 2-Step Longwear Lipstick, nothing I write could give these lipsticks (I think they are more of a lip lacquer, but still) the praise they deserve. I’m going to make
a bold move here and declare this product the best lip product I have ever tried.. In short: these lipsticks last through ALL eating and drinking and last all day and all night
(aka they stay put until you remove them with a really good eye/lipstick remover) they don’t dry out or irritate my lips (or highlight any existing dry patches) they don’t have a

Now, one rule of thumb when it comes to long-lasting colours is that you are to have no product of any kind on the lips before applying the colour, completely dry surface –whatever the colour comes in contact with, it attaches to that, so if it’s amoist surface the colour slip off pretty much. Allow the colour to dry, about 2minutes, you can feel the drying process take control and then it is time to apply the balm. The balm is all you need for the rest of the day to give comfort and shine to the lips. I wear my Infallible to work every day; so from early morning until it’s time to remove at night, which is easy enough with a waterproof make-up remover. From drinking to eating to talking etc, it’s not going anywhere, looks the same all day long. Some long-lasting formulas tend to flake off and feel gritty but not with L’Oreal’s Infallible, it’s like I have nothing on my lips, it’s that comfortable and if I feel that moisture is going,I apply more balm. The balm should always look clear in the tube, so if there is colour on it, it’s because the colour hasn’t had enough drying time on the lips. Hands down, best lip colour out!\n... Show more

Then you apply the boosting balm which moistens and adds shine to your lips, which makes them look & feel fantastic. You can apply the balm throughout the day as need, I only need to apply it 1 extra time through the day. I highly recommend this lipstick, the stay put power is amazing and does truly work.... After it has dried apply the balm on top and your lips will feel super comfortable and look beautifully glossy. However they can tend to flake after a few hours (this is usually from not applying them correctly though) or after eating greasy foods. My only complaint? They are expensive and not available worldwide. The end verdict? Buy them.... Show more

The balm made my lips feel lovely and moisturised and also gave some added shine to my lips without smudging or removing any of the original lipstick that I applied that morning. I will be adding the different shades within the Infallible 24 hour 2 step lipstick range to my collection for sure, being that it has given me the confidence to go about my day knowing that whatever is thrown my way I know that I will be wearing that perfect pout! What's more is I can have all of that at a very reasonable price tag too! Once again thanks L'Oréal.... Show more

It had a pleasant smell and just the right amount adhered to the applicator so you didnt over do it when putting it one. Drying time was incredible rapid only a minute or two.The second step was the gloss and shine balm stick on the other end. This stick was a light pink colour and i was unsure if i would get colour transfer from the pigment colour onto the balm stick but this didnt happen . The balm was lovely smelling and glided on with ease leaving my lips feeling moisturised and looking shiny and lovely. Next test was how long would it last. Now i drink an awful lot of water tea and soft drinks and honestly expected transfer for the lipstick to not fully hold up to its claim of 24 hr. I have tried many 24hr lipsticks and find as the day wears on my lipstick wears off leaving an empty middle however with the Infallible 2 step this didnt happen it truely stayed put all day and evening until i removed it night before bed. All i did in the day was top up the balm as and when i felt like it. When i took off my makeup there was no staining to my lips which was great.I personally would highly recommend this lipstick for anyone looking for a good quality product that stays in place . The colour range is brilliant and the packaging attractive a big 10/10 from me... Show more

I rarely give anything top marks but have on this occasion because I really love this product. This is a dual-ended liquid lipstick and balm that comes in a chic little bottle. The centre of the bottle has numbers indicating the order in which you use the products. When using any liquid lipstick it is advisable to use a gentle exfoliant to ensure the lips are perfectly smooth prior to application otherwise the lipstick will cling to dry patches and look and feel clumpy. The applicator tip is spongy and flexible with a small enough tip to accurately line the lips. Keep lips apart while they are drying which doesn't take very long.Once dried the lips don't feel parched and uncomfortable like some liquid lipsticks can sometimes feel and when you've applied the balm it leaves a lovely moisturising and smooth feel and sheen to the lips.I didn't try this for 24 hours but it lasted the whole day without budging or transferring. I did feel the need to reapply the balm to keep my lips from feeling dry.It came off easily with an oily makeup remover and despite the colour being very dark it left no staining!Overall I love the dark chestnut brown colour and there seems to be a nice shade range to suit many skin tones and for various looks. I wish I could have chosen two shades of this to see if an ombre effect is possible and how they might work with other colours.... Show more

I generally find long lasting lip stains far too drying to use much so I was a bit sceptical about this one. After using it though I'm quite pleased because although it's a little drying it's leaves my lips nowhere near the parched desert level of dryness that others have in the past, plus the balm end does a good job of counteracting the drying stain end. The texture of the stain is quite creamy, which is lovely, and it has a subtle shimmer. It takes less than a minute to dry and then I put the balm straight on to moisturise and set it. The balm in the nude shade I have is slightly tinted to match the stain, which is really nice because I feel like it's keeping the colour looking fresh whenever I reapply the balm but it's sheer enough to prevent me leaving lipstick ... MoreI generally find long lasting lip stains far too drying to use much so I was a bit sceptical about this one. I've worn it all through the evening when drinking and eating and it's lasted brilliantly. Doesn't seem to stand up well to toothpaste (randomly) but otherwise it's pretty immovable. Which leads me to it's only downside - removing it at the end of the night. It's a bit stubborn and my usual cleanser, which is admittedly quite gentle, really struggles to shift it. I don't use a waterproof makeup remover but I expect that might do the job.... Show more

Horrible
15 January 2022
I just bought this today. I put it on in the car, and by the time I got home 15 mins later, the inner lip had clumped and was peeling off. I removed it and tried again, let it dry properly before adding the clear top coat. After about 30 mins when I rubbed my lips together it was just peeling and lumpy mixed with the gloss coat. The colour doesn't stay on, it just flakes off under the gloss and with one wipe of a tissue most of it comes off completely. It is horrible for the price and I am so disappointed I wasted my money.... Show more

This thing requires a lot of work to get off, so application is key, but it has amazing staying power - I’ve gone to bed after cleansing twice and it was still on subtle but good great. You need the balm side otherwise your lips turn into the Sahara desert, if you have good prep then you can go a couple of hours without needing the balm, colour payout is good but I don’t get this for the colours I get it because it’s staying power and the minimal amount of touch up required. I bought this product in two shades - a neutral brown with a pink undertone (113 Invincible Sable) and a bright pink (213 Toujours Teaberry). I can't fault it's long wear - it's really difficult to get this off and it does't feel like anything is on my lips once it's dried down (it's a bit sticky when it is drying down though). I've brushed my teeth and eaten after applying this though and it's not budged. I don't have to think about reapplication for a good 8 hours. However, I find that the brown shade 113 is a much better formula. It goes on and stays on so much better than the pink. The pink shade (213), when I add the 2nd lip balm end the lipstick it pills very strangely. I get this sort of gritty feeling on my lips? Which isn't very pleasant at all. So I've been avoiding using that one which I'm disappointed about.I actually find that this lipstick lasts much longer if I put my own lip balm over the top once it's dried down - I've been using Palmer's Coconut Oil lip balm. Something like Carmex makes the product run over the edges of my lips though - gross.I've heard much better things about the L'Oreal Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick which hasn't launched in the UK yet as far as I know and I was disappointed this didn't seem to perform the same.So I'd say for the neutral shades this is definitely worth a buy - but for the bright shades probably not....
