My hair was a mild brown color to begin with, and after using this product, it was just a shade darker, but looks as though I have added high lights when I in fact did not. It helps keep with the natural blended look. I feel that they hit the target with flattering the complexion and have made ir so it would compliment literally any and every person who uses it. This stuff was easy to use, and pretty typical for at-home color. Inside the box I found developer creme, a tube of color creme, shampoo, deep conditioner, gloves, a plastic comb applicator, and some helpful instructions. Since it had been so long since I last colored my hair myself, I did do the 48-hour allergy test first. There was nothing revolutionary or new about the actual process of coloring--it was just as I remembered it--but I loved the smell of the shampoo and conditioner! They left my hair so soft and shiny, too. The resulting shade is pretty close to my natural color, but it covered the grays beautifully! I don't know how long that coverage will last, but I really like it for now. Not too bad for a quick and easy at-home coloring!

Even though I am actually a licensed cosmetologist, I still have used L'Oreal Preference hair color when in a pinch, so I am familiar with their color line. I will have to say upon opening the box, I was surprised to see they included an after care, single use shampoo along with their well known conditioner so that's a plus. Now let's talk about the actual performance of the product....Upon mixing applying-I did enjoy not smelling the horrible, overwhelming smell of hair color and also loved not having the reminder stuck in my hair afterwards!!! The coverage was even and the texture of the hair color itself was smooth. While I do not want staining of my skin for days on end-I would much rather it last on my hair figure out ways to remove the color from unwanted areas. To be determined, however, hence the 4 star review. I will update if possible once a week or so goes by (that's usually when it tends to start fading on my grays). Overall, I did like the experience of using this hair color if the performance lives up to the rest, it will be my new go-to when my pro shop is closed!

A bit messier and more drippy than the John Frieda Foam Color that I enjoyed using. The smell (or lack thereof) was a total win! I wish there were more color options. I naturally have warm dark brown hair and based on the hair color samples I went with the 5N. I followed the directions and my hair came out wayyy too dark, similar to the experience of another reviewer. It is dark dark brown. To the point where wearing black washes me out with the dark hair. I would not say it was an accurate color match. Everyone I knew commented on my new (unintentional) dark hair color, which isn't great since that's not what I wanted. The color washed out a little bit and became lighter but not ideal from start. The grey coverage has been excellent though.
