Then I like to apply a very light coat of lip balm and finally the lipstick.The applicator has a sponge tip that holds enough product to apply to both the lips without having to dip inside again. The tip is slightly angled and easy and comfortable to use and the tip is tapered to a point so you can carve out a perfect cupid's bow and line around the outer perimeter of the lips before using the wider part of applicator to fill in the rest of the lips.The formula is very lightweight and creamy, almost like a mousse in texture with a subtle sweet fragrance. Once dried down you can barely feel that you're wearing it. Unlike some matte lipsticks, this didn't feel tight or dry and nor did it accentuate any fine lines. It felt light as a feather.My lips felt very comfortable throughout the day. I wore it for just over 6 hours and it didn't budge, through food and drink. It didn't smudge or transfer to glasses/cups etc. At the very inner part of my lips, it disappeared but overall this wasn't a major negative for me.I rarely give products 5 stars but this really did impress me and I'm keen to try other shades in the range.

The applicator is a doe foot design and is slim enough for precise application and great for those of us with smaller lips.Application:It feels smooth to apply and you can neatly follow your natural lip line with the shape of this applicator and then fill in the lip area. I was surprised at how richly pigmented it is, the color payoff is amazing, especially in this darker/richer red, and I was concerned with it being such an intense shade that it may bleed or feather over time. It takes a minute or two to set before you get the matte finish.Wear test:I tested the lipstick over a couple of days, and during that time I eat and drank and found it to be transfer-proof and for the most part doesnât budge. I noticed no feathering or bleeding once it had dried either. It felt lightweight and not âmaskyâ, and it slowly faded quite evenly with no patchiness even though Iâd not scrubbed or prepped lips with a balm of any kind beforehand. At the end of the day, it was easy to remove with my usual micellar water cleanser which easily removed all traces and it didnât stain the lips as some resistant/long-wear formulas can.Overall thoughts:Iâm very impressed with this lipstick's performance. It definitely lived up to LâOrealâs marketing claims and Iâve nothing negative to report. If you want a matte lipstick withan intense color payoff thatâs a breeze to apply, and stays put and is available in a fantastic array of 12 shades (10 at Superdrug), look no further! This particular shade (420 - Le Rouge Paris) is an intense, deep, cherry red that would suit all skin tones and hair colours, and itâs a glorious shade for a statement pop of colour all year âround, with minimal eye make-up, just lashings of your favourite mascara like the french girls do! You get an instant pop of colour.đ The liquid lipstick dries down after about a minute or so, leaving a beautiful matte finish. The intensity of the colour locks in as it dries down. There is no fragrance to the lipstick either. The pointed tip of the wand gives you great control on application.đ However, i found that it does transfer and smudge. If you do not let it dry fully or purse you lips it will leave patchy spots on the lips which then need filling in. It also doesn't leave a completely smooth finish and looks slightly dry.đ Overall, this is a great lipstick, it lasts a good few hours and needs a refresh as it can look slightly dry. It has a slightly sticky texture too and again this is noticeable if you do not let it dry fully. I love the matte finish as it means this can be worn in the daytime too despite how bright the shade is. I would wear this on a night out and it is the perfect colour for the summer season. It is a compact liquid lipstick that will fit in to your bag or pocket so when you need to refresh it, it's travel friendly. You can achieve an intense colour in a single coat or build up on the intensity with several coats. However, personally for me I found a single coat was impactful and intense enough. Just make sure to allow this lipstick to dry fully or you will end up with patchy lipstick. I would also recommend using a lip scrub prior to application for a smooth, non-cakey finish.
