A New Addition to the Skincare Routine!

Wowza. Is this stuff potent or what?! At 30 years of age, this is the first time I've gone head first into a specific anti-aging product like retinol and I must admit I am very pleased with the results. Please, please follow the instructions on the pack. This is certainly a strong serum and it's worth noting the staggered approach to getting your skin used to it. Pair with a really good sunscreen with a high SPF to protect yourself too! I noticed visibly smoother skin after a couple of weeks of use. Initial irritation around my eyelids disappeared (I was a bit heavy handed to begin I think!) so be mindful and do a spot test. Fine lines and those squinty lines around my eyes seemed to have filled out a little and seem less prominent under makeup where as previously ... MoreWowza. Is this stuff potent or what?! It's a worthy product to add to the regular skin care routine, easy to use, no chemical smell and applicator and consistency of the serum is great. Really pleased with the results and will continue to use!

They not only boost collagen production, but may also have the potential to stop photoaging before it starts. They've been shown to prevent the rise of collagenase — the enzyme that breaks down collagen — after UV exposure Retinol is a gold-standard ingredient in skin care because it alters the behavior of aged cells so they act in a more youthful manner. It smooths and refines skin's texture, enhances skin radiance and treats aging When retinol is incorporated into age-preventive skin care routines, it helps accelerate skin renewal, enhance collagen production and reduce the appearance of aging, uneven texture and age spots. Applying vitamin A topically in the form of retinol can Prevent wrinkles due to its minimizing effect, as well as smooth out existing fine lines and wrinkles, Brighten dull skin by exfoliating at a cellular level, which results in brighter and smoother new skin, Regulate oily skin and minimize breakouts, Fade dark age spots, sun spots and hyperpigmentation and even out complexion over time. Since retinol is such a powerful ingredient, it can cause the skin to redden or peel if it's incorporated into a skin care regimen too quickly or used too often. Flakiness, dryness and even some breakouts can occur when retinol is first added to a routine. Typically, it just takes a little time for the skin to adjust. Begin slowly by adding it into a nightly routine one to two times per week for the first week and increasing it gradually from there, depending on how the skin reacts, If there is visible redness or peeling, use it once per week for a month then increase to twice per week and monitor the skin for irritation before increasing use. using a retinol cream or serum to allow it to absorb in the skin for 20 to 30 minutes before applying another product on top. It is also imperative to use sunscreen daily to protect skin while using retinol, as it can become more sensitive to sun.

My key skincare concerns are pigmentation, breakouts and acne scarring, and the one skincare ingredient that seems to work efficiently on all - without causing further breakouts, is retinol - so I was excited to try this L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum to the test. It claims to contain a potent concentration serum of pure retinol, with 0.2% pure retinol, and the packaging gives clear advice on how to use to get the skin used to it to minimise irritation. Often drugstore brands, or even more luxe department store brands, do not mention % strength of ingredients, so the mere mention if the 0.2% concentration is a bonus, and great for consumers so you actually know what you are purchasing. Now I have used retinol and retinals for a long time, incl highest straight via script - a fair bit stronger than this one, so I jumped right in to use nightly, and without any issues. The actual serum has a light, milky, opaque texture and absorbs quickly without greasiness, but instantly leaving the skin feeling silky soft and smooth. It is advised to follow with the L’Oréal Laser Night Moisturiser, but I followed with my usual night cream from another brand. After a few days of using - I started missing the effects of my usual higher strength retinol serum - so I switched back to using that one, and using this L’Oreal one on my decollate instead, where I’ve been usable to use the higher strength one due to irritations. My decollate has not tolerated the higher strength one bears signs of ageing, with lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. And while I didn’t see any effects on my face, after a few days, after a week or so, I did notice the skin appearing more soft and supple. I am yet to notice any major improvements in both lines and wrinkles as well as pigmentation, but overall, the skin is clearly looking more healthy, so overall I am quite happy with it and will continue to use, and hope to see further results as time goes by. It comes in a heavy duty glass bottle, with a dropper that makes it super easy to dispose just the amount of product needed without any wastage. My only negative about this serum is the fragrance - personally I love the sensory experience of beautifully scented products, but unfortunately, while smelling nice, I find this one to be a tad too strongly scented, and that is very rare for me to say something it too strongly scented. Yes, it does fade a bit after applying it, but the scent still lingers on the skin for quite some time, to the point of my scent-sensitive husband commenting in bed at night, that it was ‘twitching his nose’! Overall, this is a lovely serum, with a lovely texture and feel, and it would be perfect for those who are either just starting out their retinol journey, or have more sensitive skin. I have so many favourites from the L’Oréal range, and love how accessible they are, and that they are often available at great prices too. Again, my face is used to a higher strength retinol, but I’ve quite enjoyed using it on my decollate, and if it wasn’t for the strong fragrance, I’d without a doubt consider purchasing again. Please L’Oréal, consider introducing more subtly fragranced or even fragrance-free alternatives!

I love trialling this L’Oréal Paris revitalift laser serum ! It has definitely made my skin look smoother and my skins texture has good much better! I would normal put this serum on my skin before bed and would leave this on my skin overnight! It feel like nothing on my skin , the fragrance of serum is bit strong when you apply but disappear within seconds after applying and doesn’t irritate your sleep! I wouldn’t like this if I could smell this in my face all night but that’s not the case with this serum! It get absorbed easily on my skin without leaving my skin greasy or sticky, which is another plus from me ! It’s a pure retinol night serum! You only need couple of drops to cover your whole face , so little goes the long way which justify the price of this serum! ... MoreI love trialling this L’Oréal Paris revitalift laser serum ! It’s easy to travel with as of the bottle shape! It’s easily available at almost all supermarkets, pharmacies and departmental store ! I would definitely recommend to my family and friends to give it a try if suffering from any skin related issues such as rough skin surface or wrinkles! It makes my skin looks much smoother and skin texture has improved a lot ! I will keep using this serum after the trial and look forward buying more and add this to my night skin regime!

It works really well when used correctly!

I have used retinol products before and thought myself an experienced user. Even though the instructions on both the box and the information for the review said to introduce this product slowly, I decided that I would be fine. I wasn’t and I was waking up with dry patches over my face - not a good look! My recommendation is to use this as directed on the product. I started out using the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum every second night and quickly realised when my skin started getting a bit sensitive with dry patches, that I needed to stop and start introducing the serum SLOWLY! Since I began using the serum correctly, I have really noticed some differences in my skin. It is now plumper and my fine lines have, not disappeared, but are definitely harder to see. I also had a wrinkle between my eyebrows that was fairly deep and that has reduced in depth as well - which I am very happy about. I like the dropper delivery system and particularly like the texture of the serum, which is thicker and therefore stays on your face while you are putting the dropper back into the bottle, without running everywhere. A little goes a long way and the Revitalift serum absorbed very quickly leaving my skin feeling very soft and supple with no greasy or oily residue. I am now using the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum 2-3 times per week and am just monitoring how my skin feels before applying it that third time. I have found that I cannot put the retinol directly on my eyelids, however if I put it around my eyes and then put moisturiser on straight afterwards, which also goes on my eyelids then surely some transfer of retinol goes on there too and that does not make my eyelids peel. My neck cannot seem to tolerate the retinol even when mixed with moisturiser if I use it more than twice per week as it becomes red and sensitive. Just in the last week though I have been able to use the serum mixed with moisturiser once without getting the sensitivity and so I will continue with the once a week application on my neck. I really like how the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum has improved my skin texture and I feel that my skin really is looking younger and healthier than it was previous to using this serum. I will definitely keep using it and cannot wait to see the results after 2-3 months of use. Thank you Beauty Crew for letting me review the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum .

Retinol is an ingredient that I like to incorporate in my skincare routine, so I was thrilled to be invited to trial the L'oreal Revitalift Laser x3 Pure Retinol Serum. The serum comes in a lovely dark blue squared bottle with a dropper dispenser. The milky consistency and colour is nothing I've ever experienced before when it comes to using retinol products. I found the scent to be quite strong, not unpleasant, but worth noting for those sensitive to fragrance. With a concentration of 0.2% of pure retinol, instructions state to begin using slowly, applying twice the first week to every other night, then use nightly the third week. It is also important to remember to use a sunscreen during the day. I find 4 drops enough for face and neck. It is also important to remember to use a sunscreen during the day. I find 4 drops enough for face and neck. The serum absorbs quickly into my skin leaving no residue. I usually apply a moisturiser after a serum, but I haven't found that necessary, thanks to the hyaluronic acid and glycerin in the formula my skin feels adequately hydrated. I am in my mid-40s and have combination skin that leans dehydrated. After almost a month I have not experienced any adverse reactions. My skin feels so smooth with less texture. I have also noticed it to feel firmer. I am more than happy to continue use and look forward to even more benefits that happen over time such as lightening of pigmentation. I'm so happy to have had the opportutunity to try the L'oreal Revitalift Pure Retinol Night Serum, it exceeded my expectations. Only complaint being the strong fragrance which I am getting used to. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an anti-aging serum with a high concentration of retinol for an over-the-counter product.

Powerful Anti Aging Serum
23 March 2021

38 years old & oily/dehydrated skin My main concerns are pores, pigmentation & skin texture (acne scars) I’ve been using L’Oréal hydraulic acid serum for a while (maybe 3 or 4 bottles) and my skin has dramatically improved (improved dehydrated skin & straighten skin) so I was really excited to try another product from L’Oréal skincare range. L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum is a potent concentration serum of pure retinol. I’ve used retinol products before so I’ve been using it for every night for a few weeks. It’s light texture and it easily soaked into the skin. I didn’t experience any tingling or irritation which is great but if you try retinol product for the first time, I recommend to try a few times a week and see how your skin reacts. ... More38 years old & oily/dehydrated skin My main concerns are pores, pigmentation & skin texture (acne scars) I’ve been using L’Oréal hydraulic acid serum for a while (maybe 3 or 4 bottles) and my skin has dramatically improved (improved dehydrated skin & straighten skin) so I was really excited to try another product from L’Oréal skincare range. I really like this formula because It includes hyaluronic acid, glycerin and lightweight oils as well. It’s powerful formula for anti aging but it also nourished skin at the same time. Every night I do the double cleanse and pat dry my face with towel then I apply this product. After applying this product, I wait for 15 to 20 minutes to let it absorbed into skin well and finally apply moisturizer. If I feel a bit of dryness, I layer the moisturizer again. I don’t have any deep winkles yet but I am concerned about my skin texture & open pores. I haven’t seen any dramatic improvement for my pores yet but definitely my skin texture has become soft and supple. Only one thing I’m a bit unhappy about is fragrance of this product. Same as hyaluronic acid serum, this product has a quite strong fragrance. It subsides after the application but I hope they make less fragrance products in the future. Overall I really like this product and love L’Oréal skincare range. I think L’Oréal skincare range is underrated. They’re widely accessible and quite often good discount at supermarket & pharmacy. I guess some people may avoid their products because of animal testing but the package said without animal testing for more than 30 years. Great formula and I’ll definitely continue to use this product.

Skin irritating ingredients
7 July 2022

This serum really irritated my skin, especially on my eyelids and chin. I had red blotches and peeling skin. One thing that really annoys me about this product, apart from the aforementioned irritation is that it has citrus extracts and fragrance, both are known to be skin irritants and ask a dermatologist about it and they'll most likely tell you that these ingredients are some of the most irritating for skin. In fact, these ingredients make your skin more sensitive and over time you may need to visit a dermatologist to treat this problem, trust me, it happened to me. I don't recommend this product for these reasons and think there are kinder and less expensive products on the market.

Very potent serum which gives fast visible results

I'm currently really enjoying trialing L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum and on week 4 of use. I've tried a few other retinol serums in the past, and was surprised at just how much stronger and more effective this formula was. It comes in a nice blue packaging with easy to dispense, hygienic dropper. The texture is a white, milky fluid which easily and quickly absorbs into skin. I found 2-3 drops was enough to cover my whole face, which I usually followed with one of my favourite moisturisers. Some other members mentioned a strong smell but I didn't notice anything off putting. Only a light, lotion type of fragrance that quickly faded and didn't bother me at all. I found 2-3 drops was enough to cover my whole face, which I usually followed with one of my favourite moisturisers. Some other members mentioned a strong smell but I didn't notice anything off putting. Only a light, lotion type of fragrance that quickly faded and didn't bother me at all. This is definitely a powerful serum and it's highly recommended to follow the directions instead of just slathering it on your face straight away like I did the first two nights. I have oily skin which can usually tolerate quite a lot so thought nothing of jumping straight into it. Instead of introducing it slowly, I made the mistake of starting out using the serum every night and experienced quite a bit of redness, dryness and peeling/flaking during the first week of use. Due to it's potent ingredients, I had to switch up my usual skincare routine a bit. I normally use pretty harsh cleansers with salicylic acid, BHAs, and other exfoliators, which I had to stop while using this serum, and found I didn't need them anyway. For the first few week or so, I experienced some redness, dryness and peeling especially right after cleansing. After a quick Google search I think this was "the retinol uglies" or skin purging which is apparently normal for some people who aren't that experienced with retinols, while their skin adjusts to the new product and can take a few weeks. This may put some people off retinol, however I definitely saw this as the serum working and persisted, and I'm so glad I did as the results are better than any other retinol product I've tried so far. I normally don't require a lot of heavy moisturisers but found that I had to moisturise quite a lot, especially during the first week of use as my skin became a bit dry and flaky, with dry patches especially visible if wearing foundation. I switched to a milder cream cleanser, and sometimes mixed the serum with a moisturiser until my skin adapted. I'm on week 4 of use now and the redness, peeling and dryness has minimized unless I go overboard with the serum or back to my harsh cleansers - then my skin is a little red, dry, flaky and tight especially if I don't moisturise straight after cleansing. I work from home so it doesn't really bother me, however if I do need to go out during the day I make sure to always use SPF 50+ and use extra moisturising serum, moisturiser and/or a skin oil. I'm very happy that my skin adapted relatively quickly, and even happier with the results. I've noticed the fine lines/expression lines on my forehead look smoothed out, my pores look smaller, my overall skin texture is soft and smooth, and I don't get any breakouts. I also have some pigmentation "dots" on my forehead from past sun damage which are starting to fade, and a few pigmentation areas on my cheekbones that are starting to also fade. This is only after 4 weeks, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the final results and how my skin will look after I've finished the whole bottle, or 6 months of use. The one thing I've mostly had to change is constantly moisturising my skin, not that I mind because I have plenty of moisturisers just sitting around that I can finally get some use out of. All round this is a great product that actually delivers on it's promises - just follow the directions and be extra careful if you have dry or sensitive skin. If you're not used to retinol, use gentle skincare products at the same time as using this, and don't be surprised if you experience some redness, dryness and peeling/flaking especially at the beginning. Use a good moisturiser after, or mix the serum with a moisturiser, and definitely never go out in the daytime without SPF!

Worth a Try!
6 April 2021

Thanks to Beauty Crew for giving me the opportunity to trial L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Night Serum. Having tried retinoid creams in the past (prescribed by Doctors) I wasn't sure well this milky white serum would perform. But it exceeded my expectations and I'll certainly purchase again. It arrived boxed and the product is a good size, a little goes a looong way and it absorbed into my skin beautifully without leaving a greasy or tacky feel. After 4 weeks my skin certainly feels smoother and it seemingly controlling my breakouts. I'm 42 and have started to get pesky hormonal breakouts along my jawline and near my mouth. When using this, it's extremely important to use SPF 50+ sunscrean on your face for everyday use. When using this, it's extremely important to use SPF 50+ sunscrean on your face for everyday use. If you don't you will be undoing all of your good work in using a retinol serum. I cannot yet comment on how well it is fading my hyperpigmentation as I believe it too early to see an improvement with that. But I recommend this product for a skin smoothing solution.
