I wasnt sure this mask would work for me at first as it describes itself as lightweight and my hair is very thick, coarse and curlyfrizzy in texture. Normally I would go for something extra heavy and thick. It looks fabulous all shiny gold in colour and claims to work in 3 to 5 minutes. I first used it following the matching LOreal Serie Expert Gold shampoo. I put it on in the shower, finished washingshavingexfoliating and rinsed it off 5 minutes later. It is quite light and slippery and applies very easily through hair. Even my thick hair didnt need as much as I would have expected. It rinses out quickly, much more quickly than some other conditioners and masks, so is brilliant if you are in a rush but still want a superboost of hair moisture. After a quick blow dry it left my hair feeling soft and silky and I went to bed. Waking up the next day I was shocked to see that my huge frizzbomb hair had been transformed into something smooth, shiny and fairly straight. I dont know how much of that is due to the keratin proteins and how much to the high concentration of silicones in the mask but it definitely works. It leaves hair almost slippery soft so it probably wouldnt be great to use before attempting an updo that needing grip BUT if you want you hair to swing loose and glossy then its fabulous. It even withstands a reasonable level of humidity going from rain to central heating and back without adding a smoothing serum on top.
